These ticket prices are disgusting. Shame on the producers. It's a sh*tty move to hike them so high. And they clearly weren't sold out. And that's a load of nonsense about waiting until the staging was finalised to release more tickets, as all the extra seats were dotted all over the place like in the middle of the stalls, which would have been unaffected by the staging of the show. They were clearly held back to be massively inflated when the demand and FOMO kicked in.

I went on for a look out of interest and the cheapest ticket I could see now is £110 and there are very few of those left. Next cheapest is £175. The seat I paid £100 for originally is now triple that. ATG sure know how to surf the dynamic pricing wave but I think it's wrong of them, sorry. I don't think they're actually selling well though, when compared to the huge demand and the kind of queue. Little wonder! They didn't make it clear that tickets for the extra week would be three times the original price. Unless they are Russian oligarchs, I'm sure many of those queuing would have gasped in horror when they entered the website!

Some people book 3-months ahead, some 3-hours. For the latter, £200 is what £20 is to me. Theatre fans who plan ahead had the chance long ago, this is pitched at a different market now. In these circs, I'm happy enough to see those with significant disposable income also subsidise subsidised theatre in London. I agree, it's show business not show charity and this is a hot ticket. It's Cock all over again 😂

£300 *is* obscene.

I think the email is just the link to put you in the virtual waiting room to be assigned your random number. Thanks, that what I thought too, which means no pre sale for ATG cardholders.

So no advance booking for ATG cardholders then? Seems odd when there was for the initial 6 weeks. Or is that what the 10.30 email from ATG is?

Congrats to the production - but, it won't be performing while we are in the UK! We are there after it closes at the Pinter and leave before it opens at Savoy. Sigh. A shame, it's so disappointing when things pan out like that

Yes, does anyone know what has booked the Pinter which has prevented the extension of A Little Life there?

My hunch, and it's only that, is that Tammy Faye might go to either the Duke of York's or Noel Coward in the autumn.

It does but I'm not getting the sense at the minute that there's a mad clamour for theatres with lots of shows circling to land. I hope I'm wrong but lots of theatres look like they may be going dark soon with no word of anything coming in. We had a post on the 'A Little Life' thread that it would be transferring to the Savoy. Time will tell, I suppose. theatreboard.co.uk/thread/9982/little-life-richmond-harold-pinter?page=5Thanks, I had missed that. I wonder what's going into the Harold Pinter that means ALL can't just extend there? Also wonder if same cast will go with it to the Savoy, as they will be pretty exhausted by the 18th June, no doubt.

Handy list, Dave. Thanks for sharing. You could add The Crucible at the Gielgud, and Bleak Expectations and Unbelievable at the Criterion.

Is decent artwork coming for this? I saw a tacky ad the other day with just a really cheesy looking photo of Michael Ball.

It could be Hamnet. Neil Street are co-producing that with the RSC and I would be gobsmacked if that didn't move to London.

Marigold Hotel is touring until mid-June, having been on tour since September and is already on it's second cast, would it be that much of a draw? And didn't Shawshank do quite poorly last time it was in the WE? Phoenix could also house that transfer of The Piano Lesson that we're not quite sure is still happening, pre-Stranger Things. Does anybody know if Roman Holiday is already eyeing up a London theatre post-Bath? Yes, Sonia could bring in The Piano Lesson to the Phoenix or maybe the Apollo now that we think A Strange Loop is not going there? Marigold is a very Haymarket type of show so that could be a good call!

Since this post, Bleak Expectations has been announced for the Criterion, and The Crucible for the Gielgud. Still nothing for the rest as yet, including @sohoplace, the Haymarket and the Phoenix from May onwards. I wonder if Bill Kenwright will put something into the Haymarket, maybe The Shawshank Redemption? The Phoenix is getting Stranger Things after Streetcar. I would imagine @sohoplace's next show will be announced this month. Stranger Things isn't until 'late 2023'. Doubt we'll get it before October.

@sohoplace, Haymarket and Phoenix free from end of April Apollo, Gielgud and Garrick free from end of May Ambassadors free from end of June Gap at Criterion currently mid April to end of August if Unfriend does not extend. Obviously I’m sure most of these have shows pencilled in, and there’s plenty of rumours, but that’s 8 West End houses without shows currently on sale for the peak summer period. Since this post, Bleak Expectations has been announced for the Criterion, and The Crucible for the Gielgud. James McArdle (but I don’t know if he can sing?) Is he not too young?

Yes Phoenix Theatre. Stephen Daldry directing, opening late summer I believe. Wonder if anything will go in between Streetcar and this. This will obviously take quite a while to set up and tech.

I too was surprised that The Unfriend didn't get a nomination for best comedy.
