I am. Why wasn't Glenn Close nominated?! So pleased Groundhog Day is getting nominations! She wasn't eligible as she has won for the same role previously

Ahhhh ok that's helped me understand it a lot now! I hadn't thought that the characters themselves were playing the characters, that went right over my head. It's very unusual that I saw his understudy tonight but it's the understudy who is in all the pictures in the programme, hopefully someone can help I think I'm correct in saying that Jason Callender was injured right at the very beginning of the tour and missed a few shows, so I would assume he's not in the photos because he wasn't able to be there when they taken.

Mmm, the drop back down to 4 nominees is a bit odd, especially with just how much was eligible this year.
I've not actually seen Half a Sixpence, but I thought Andrew Wright was going to be a lock for one of the choreography slots.
So many surprises in both inclusions and omissions this year.

Baffled by The Girls being nominated collectively. Maybe if they'd thrown it in under Best Supporting, but you really can't class all those roles as leading.

Best Actress… Glenda Jackson (King Lear), Imelda Staunton (…Virginia Woolf), Ruth Wilson (Hedda Gabler)… Imelda isn't eligable this year, as the play has to of done at least 30 performances by the cutoff to be eligable, which this hasn't. But she will undoubtably be nominated next year! It doesn't need to have done 30 performances by the cut-off date, it just needs to have at least 30 performances scheduled. The wording is ambiguous, but if it was 30 performances before the cut-off, Beautiful would've had to wait until 2016 rather than 2015. That said, Who's Afraid... didn't open in time to be eligible this year, so that point still stands.

I did watch an interview with Emma afterward however, and she said that she had the card saying Best Actress in her hand at the time it happened. So whether they have doubles, which is not needed as there wasn't two hosts for Best Actress, then someone could potentially of done it on purpose. There are two sets of cards - as they don't know which side the presenters will enter from the PWC pair wait on ether side, with their own full set of cards. It's also in case something happens to the one of them, they still have a set of cards good to go.

I know someone else did this a couple of weeks ago, but I feel like my 500th post should also be in the Wicked thread. Bit silly really, but I do end up spending a fair amount of time in here! Did anyone from Wicked go to collect their WoS award tonight? Willemijn, Suzie, and Oliver collected the award

I'm looking forward to hearing reports of how Jessamy is getting on! As an aside, I think it's an absolute testament to Rachel, and Alice too to an extent, that Jessamy has had to wait five months to get a green show. I'm sure somebody out there must keep track, how does this compare with previous 1st u/s Elphabas? I don't know about any others, but if I'm remembering correctly, Natalie McQueen joined in November 2013 and didn't have her first Elphaba show until August 2014

Does anyone know when cast change is this year? I'm guessing 10th or 17th June but I'm worried I'll book the wrong day or leave it too late for a good seat. The 10th is on a couple of cast members' Spotlight CV

I've just got back from New York - we thought immigration would be horrendous and were giving ourselves 2 hours when making plans. Instead, we breezed through in about 20 minutes! I don't know if it was to do with the time of the year but there were practically no queues. We didn't even have a wait to collect our cases (British airports, take note!)

Damn, I didn't realise just how painless the first go-around was - this is awful. Still not got any ticket selections from my seat searches! 10 minutes now! Whereas I had a horrible pre-sale booking experience (similar to what everyone seems to be going through now) but got straight through today!

My issue is they claimed there was going to be a greater proportion of tickets under £35 than any other show, and now it turns out that, previews excluded, the only tickets under £35 are the daily lottery tickets

So hoping that my Delfont Mackintosh + membership will be me saviour on Monday with its exclusive booking phone number if I end up with a terrible virtual queue position via presale list... Or what do we think the chances of a DMT+ only booking link is? Ticketmaster blog with info says DMT+ members are getting first pick at 10am Monday, with Hamilton priority list booking opening at 12. If that's what you meant by a DMT+ only booking link, then sounds like there is one

Due to train strikes I've twice had to change my tickets for this, starting on the front row im now on row Z. Has anyone sat this far back? Is there any point going? I was ZA for the first show and I was able to see everything with a bit of craning my head round the couple in front who could not sit still! Am happy to admit that I may have just been lucky and not had anyone particularly tall in my line of vision, but even so, your view shouldn't be completely obstructed from row Z.

My absolute top musical of 2016 was Stay Awake Jake, a one-man musical by Tim Gilvin, starring Jamie Muscato. It did a few performances as part of the Vault Festival in February and I knew then that it would take something special to knock it off the top spot - a gorgeous piece of theatre. Special mentions to Groundhog Day and Vanities, both of which I enjoyed so much that I had to visit more than once, and Strictly Ballroom, which was just so joyous and I really hope it gets a run in London, if only so I can see it again!

Really annoyed as I've booked tickets for the WOS Awards, which is the same day, so wanted a central London showing of Newsies, but Vue's showings are too late so they clash (at least according to the times they currently give).

I agree Anthony40 - will be interesting to see how popular Danny is now that he's not at the top of the leader board. (Even though he deserves to be.) Can anyone remember whether they dance their higher or lower scored dance in the DO? The couples get to choose - so they usually choose their highest scoring, but not always

You can ring the theatre to let them know so they can change the name (this topic is addressed in the FAQ on the website)

As I left the theatre after the first preview I noticed that there was also a cast list up at the box office, right by the doors

I also sat on the front row, off to the side and the view was perfect, a massive bargain for £15. The lack of a high stage may make viewing from further back less effective though, although I can't say for sure as I wasn't there! If you're in the cheap seats at the back, be prepared to listen but not watch. I could just about see everything (when those in front actually sat still) from row ZA, but I know those in the very back few rows basically couldn't see anything.

Usually with the 9 show week, Rachel would do one of the midweek matinees and Alice the other. As to which way around, it's anyone's guess unless they post their dates on the website. May be worth looking out for who does which one during the October half term week. had forgotten there was another 9 show week before December! I'll look what happens then - thanks for the advice! Next week (October half-term and thus 9 show week) Alice is doing the Thursday evening show

The only reason I can come up with for putting Louise and Kevin last was that it meant they wouldn't have to rush to clean up the confetti from the end of the routine. Performance-wise, Claudia and AJ should've been up last in my opinion; that was a great routine.

I wouldn't have been able to join you for the quiz anyway, but I just want to know if the answer to the first question is See Me from Bare (one of my favourite shows), or if there's another song out there with that line?

Theatremonkey.com is your friend, Mr Snow. (He is also one of the moderators on here.) I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Showboat... Thanks I'll explore more later but Quick look shows nothing about The New London which at least should be acknowledged as having a/c - a major benefit at times. There's also nothing about The Regent's Park Theatre. A wonderful venue but I would warn to avoid seats facing the left hand side of the stage, unless you enjoy falling asleep in the heat of a full sun. There must be countless other examples of insider knowledge? (PS I'm new here so apologies if this kind of Threadjack is not the ettiquette (strange word to choose when talking about the internet! I'll happily start a new thread if people want to discuss this.) I know you said you only had a quick look, but there is quite a lot of information for Regent's Park (it's listed under O for Open Air) including advice for seat choices with regards to the sun

Heard from a friend that there's a press launch tomorrow, I think they said. So I'd be surprised if casting wasn't announced then
