Little Shop of Horrors last night. Drunken woman shrieking with laughter, constantly! Even at the moving scenes. We were sitting very far away from her but she still ruined parts of the show. The production is fantastic though. Great fun. A better all round production that the Menier but, as good as Jemima R was, I still missed Sheridan S. Vicky Vox is sublime. Booked to see it again next Monday, hopefully with a better audience. I was also there that night, sat on the opposite side of the theatre to aforementioned woman, and my goodness, was she irritating! I felt very sorry for those sat near her.

Is it already known if Haymarket will have dayseats? I am in London mid September and have Friday night free but definitely not paying their prices. Yup, it has it on the Haymarket website, £25

I wonder does that mean Christine is going to move up to be first cover Eliza after Marsha leaves? Miriam is already second cover so I would have presumed she would have gone on tonight with the second cover for Angelica on instead and Christine in her usual role! Or will Miriam become first cover for both? With Rachelle, Rachel and Marsha out tonight, the combination that’s performing is the only option - Miriam was the only one available to play Angelica (Marsha is the 2nd cover) meaning that Christine was the only one available to play Eliza and Courtney therefore the only option for Peggy/Maria

What are your kids doing seeing Heathers to begin with? I’d have given the show a solid 15 rating (ahem, despite the fact that I was watching the 18 rated film obsessively from the age of 12, so call me a hypocrite if need be). I don’t think the children are as young as the mother’s tweets seem to suggest. When the drama was happening on Twitter she posted a photo of who I assume to be her daughters, with a couple of members of the Hamilton cast (with a veiled dig at Carrie, about them being so nice to make the time for their fans) and they looked to be teenaged. They looked old enough for one to assume they would have the maturity to deal with not being able to meet their “idol”. Anyway, in this situation, I don’t think Carrie is wrong, but I really don’t think she dealt with it very well.

So finally made it along to this. Off to a bad start when security told me I couldn't bring my water bottle into the buildinh. In the middle of a heatwave. I wasn't aware the reason we had brought in bag checks was to take you're water away but given the bar prices at the other palace there was no chance of me buying s drink in there. How odd. Was your water bottle opaque? Only reason I can think why they might have an issue. I’ve taken a clear bottle of water in with me every time I’ve been to The Other Palace in the last couple of months, including tonight, with no problems.

I think there’s no official signing after matinees, but (as evidenced) cast may be happy to stop and sign on their way out to go and get food etc.

Isn't Rebecca Lock in 'Heathers'? She's not going to have much time after the transfer to get herself all the way up to The North. Someone posted in the Heathers thread when the transfer was announced that Rebecca would be leaving early (beginning of November) - I imagine she’ll be going straight from Heathers to rehearsals

Is it just me, or is the tennis a bit dull this year? I mean predictable. The men’s maybe but the women’s has been anything but predictable!

Illness that swept the in the interval? Did anyone go last night, did anyone seem that bad? I am convinced this is a an excuse to sort this production out otherwise they are extremely unlikely. It does seem very peculiar, particularly because they had cancelled today and tomorrow’s shows before last night’s show began. So whoever is ill knew they would be too ill to perform the next day and the day after, but was well enough to try and perform that night?

George Blagden, Samuel Barnett, Mark Anderson, Lauren Samuels, Tori Amos all at the Light Princess last night. Saw a few other faces that I recognised but I couldn't quite place them. Ah I thought it was Mark Anderson I was walking behind as I walked from Victoria to Sloane Square but I didn’t fully see his face to know for sure. I assumed if it was him he was also on his way to Cadogan Hall but I didn’t see him inside.

I think it's been mentioned but if it is an immediate transfer, it would be without Jodie Steele as she's been announced for the Rock of Ages UK Tour....or is that not for a while? Who could take Jodie's place if she can't go with it? Rock of Ages starts at the end of September, so I’d imagine rehearsals would start towards the end of August. Likely not feasible for Jodie to be a part of an immediate transfer (or one a little further down the line, if she’s staying with Rock of Ages)

I have seen the show 3 times. IMO a lot depends on how hot and energetic the young women dancers are. I am not trolling, I am serious. There were three young women dancers in one London production who were phenomenal. I think they kept the show going. One of them was Amy Thornton who went onto Matilda, can`t remember the other names. Twinnie Lee Moore, who’s currently focusing on her own music, and Zizi Strallen. Twinnie was out of the show for several months with a broken leg and was replaced by Scarlette Douglas during that time.

I mean, the cast aren’t, or don’t seem to be, treating the whole thing as previews. Many of them have referred to the shows performed so far as previews, with tonight as the opening/gala night (but not press night). As far as they’re concerned, they officially open tonight. So which is it? Is it still a work in progress, or is it officially open? I’m not sure you can have it both ways. It might not be the creatives’ final version of the show, but it’s most likely the final version of this production and should probably be treated as such.

There’s an article in The Stage that apparently (my cheapskate quota has run out so I can’t read it) implies the whole Other Palace run is a set of “previews” and that they’re defining it as a “work in progress” Well with respect, £75 a ticket is not reasonable for a work in progress. I also strongly feel for a public run ie not workshop critics should be invited and there should be a press night. Again if you’re charging £75 a ticket... I’m not saying it’s not good (I haven’t seen it) but the overall principle and approach doesn’t sit well. Anyone else miss the St James’ ?? Even as someone who loves the production, I find it a bit sickening. You can’t say that it’s still a work in progress, not a finalised version of the show, and still go ahead and charge standard West End prices. (Also I think if you search for the article on Google and access it that way, it shouldn’t get blocked)

I knew I should have waited until after first performances had began before booking my coach ticket home. I was stupid enough to go off the 2 hour running time and book the 10:30 coach home, looks like I'm going to have to book the later train as well cause I don't think I'll make it down to the coach station in 5 minutes. I'm also wishing I bought another cheap ticket when I found some, judging by all the comments that I've heard so far this is a show I'm going to want to see more than once, at least there's always a chance with the lottery A coach from Victoria? If so 10:30pm should give you plenty of time - Saturday’s performance finished before 10 and I would imagine once it’s running smoothly it’ll be a 9.45/9.50 sort of finish

Can anyone confirm the two hour run time advertised on the Other Palace website? This would be marvellous news for our drive back west. Unfortunately not quite 2 hours. I can’t remember exactly what time the show finished (and I’m almost certain it didn’t start on time given how late they opened the doors) but there were signs saying Act 1: 66 minutes, Act 2: 50 minutes. So it’s probably going to be about 2 hours 15 including interval

What are the ticket options for this. Returns and lottery? Or is dayseating always an option because I've decided far too late that I am desperate to see this 😭 No dayseats, just lottery/returns/forking out for any of the remaining tickets

Last night was incredible. I’ve been to many first previews but this was definitely the most electric atmosphere I’ve been in. I love the show anyway, I saw the workshop last year twice, and they’ve done a really great job putting together the full production. They’ve had to be quite creative with the set and there were a few teething problems that should get ironed out in no time. Some beautiful lighting work going on. Sitting in the front row, the band did overpower vocals at some points so I’m interested to find out if sitting elsewhere improves that. Another note about sitting front row, if you’re on the sides the view will be restricted at a few moments by members of the cast.
I had my reservations about Carrie as Veronica - I think she’s got a lovely voice but wasn’t sure how she’d be on the acting side. I think she needs a little bit more time to settle into it but she did a really good job.
Jamie Muscato was born to play JD. I could write paragraphs but I won’t, I’ll just say that I think everything he does is utterly brilliant.
All three Heathers are incredible with Jodie Steele being a stand out for me. I love the new song for Heather Duke - really fun, some great lyrics and brilliant staging.
Honestly I don’t think there’s a weak link in the cast, they all do a wonderful job.
I’m glad I’ve got a few more visits lined up because last night was just so much fun and I could watch it again already.

Assuming the original post was regarding Heathers, I just thought I’d post to say that they’ve announced a weekly ticket lottery (open until Monday morning for performances from 9th-17th) and they’ve put the returns policy on the show page on the website

As others have said, Saturday is best for big shows. On the Sunday, it’s usually only the shows that actually have performances that day

Utterly confused and hope that someone can help me here. I've send an email to the box office with the question if the grand circle slip seats are near an aisle and how the legroom is. Unbeknownest to me my girlfriend send the exact same question to the box office during her work. This is the response I got: Dear Tim, Your Grand Circle Slip Seats are located at the end of an aisle. These are moveable seats, not bench seats. You can move the seats to make the performance as comfortable as possible for yourselves. I was relieved. Then my girlfriend arrived home and told me she send the question. This is the response my girlfriend received: The Grand circle slip seats are on a fixed bench and are non movable. Only one end is an aisle. Theatremonkey or anyone else: Which answer is the right answer? The response your girlfriend received is the correct one

Soooo, back to the subject matter. Has anyone managed to secure any cheap tickets for this? Because at a quick glance, I can't find any. Front row was £29.50 and back row was £25, but they went very quickly. Still possible some will come back up as returns

There's not really any justification, when they've taken people's money to gain access to priority booking, to have handled things in the way they have. Putting the show on sale to members today and general sale next week would have ensured people who've signed up as Friends got what they've paid for. I didn't pay to access a special members event taking place 200 miles away from home. I wasn’t saying it was justification, just stating what was happening. Really they missed a trick, as I expect many of Miss Fletcher’s fans would’ve signed up for membership to access priority booking.

Great to see The Other Palace are looking after their members who received zero priority despite the scheme being advertised as offering priority booking! Paul Taylor-Mills said on Twitter that there’s a special members event instead of priority booking for this

Any predictions on the rest of the cast. Or will it mostly be a reprise of the workshop cast, minus Charlotte Wakefield and Amy Ross (unavailable due to Wicked tour) who was Duke in the workshop? If they stay true to their poster design there’s a POC playing her Gabrielle Lewis-Dodson (just left 42nd Street, was 1st cover Peggy)
