Rehearsal sneak peek from the Theatre Cafe. So chuffed they're using Better the Devil You Know from the Australian revival for Felicia. Having said that I didn't fancy going, this has actually made me more interested. Wonder how they will feature the bus?

Not much progress on sales since I last posted the seat map. Overly ambitious pricing sadly. The HM is a good cause but this is very misjudged. I really wanted to see this but there's no way I'm going to at those prices. I know it's for a good cause but they are way overpriced, like a lot of their other tickets these days.

Having enjoyed the tv show, thought I'd listen to the Radio 2 broadcast to lighten this morning's tram journey. However I've had to turn off after 30 mins, the backstage shrieking and screaming from Lucie Jones and Marisha Wallace is unbearable, their interview with Nicole the worst.

Both performances on 22nd February are being filmed. Got an email informing us of this as we've booked for that day and offering to change tickets if we don't want to take part.

I really enjoyed the whole show. I was there last year but couldn't get a ticket this year and thought this one was better. It's made me want to book for shows I hadn't considered before so I guess it's fulfilled it's intention

Alfie Boe has just been on BBC Breakfast and said it's ok to sing along at the theatre. Here we go again...

My first was Miss Saigon in 1990. It was only my second encounter of a West End show. Can't believe it was over 30 years ago.

This really isn't selling well which doesn't bode well given today's announcement from Hope Mill. I hope they do manage to raise funds as it would be a shame to lose the theatre.

Looking to go in Edinburgh in March, but the cheapest tickets seem to be £76 in the upper circle. Does anyone know if the theatre might reduce singles closer to the time or if there are any deals around? If they do the same as Manchester, they may reduce singles a few weeks before. I've snapped up a couple of single seats two rows from the front for a week's time for £30

I sat next to her in the theatre once and sadly she didn't get the recognition she deserved.

They could have given Tom a decent brolly for the final show!

It all seems pretty orderly and well planned in that clip. Calling people freaks for being there seems rather harsh, they all seem pretty respectful of the boundaries.

So excited to be going tonight!! Are there likely to be any speeches or anything? Was there any fun at the matinee today? I read elsewhere there were lots of fans outside for the Act 2 walk around so would be interested to see if that had any impact

I've been to a couple of shows (Priscilla/ Joseph) where the set has failed so they performed it as a concert version and then also offered full refunds afterwards. I can see that as a replacement maybe, but not sure how they can give a full show with the lead character not present.

Wasn't there talk of Aida finally coming over here this year, or has that gone dead again?

I’ve read that in the last week that the West End production has had a couple of ‘no-fly’ shows. Fully appreciate that it can’t be helped, but it can’t be great for audiences to be missing out on one of the most prominent moments in the show. I don't think that's particularly unusual, they've always happened. I heard it also happened on tour the other day too

Just out from Jack and the Beanstalk at Manchester Opera House. A lot of padding which is basically a stand-up routine for Jason Manford at the beginning of the show. But it looks good and a pretty spectacular end to Act 1 which got everyone excited. Makes a lot of use of the music from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, particularly the prologue and an extended Any Dream Will Do segment

Do you mean the official "New Year Sale" that used to be called Get Into London Theatre? officiallondontheatre.com/sale/Still there, haven't looked if the offers are any good. In recent years it really went downhill, offering only fairly mediocre seats in the back of the stalls and stuff like that. But depending on what shows you are looking for, you may be lucky. That's the one. Must have missed the start of that. Usually get loads of email's about it. Was hoping to get some for late February but no decent seats for the shows I want to see.

Usually around this time of year I see ticket offers/promotions for West End shows for January- February but haven't seen any yet. Have I missed them this year or are there none around?

Not selling well so far. Prices are stupid though. It's going to take a big push to fill that. All the publicity I've had from only promotes the VIP package with the preshow dinner so that gives a false impression too

I've not seen it for a few years, the last time was Lucie's opening night, but even then i was thinking there were some decidedly ropey momemts. When the platform carrying Glinda etc came downstage for Thank Goodness I feared for their safety, it was wobbling around so much. When you see so many videos of the non-replica productions around the world it does make you realised how dated it is looking.

I’ve just increased my rating from ⭐️⭐️⭐️ to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This show has crossed my mind several times since I saw it a couple of weeks ago and today I found myself singing rapping “re-imagining” the performance of My Shot in my head. Something’s definitely stuck, so my childish, stubborn “It can’t be that good I’m not going to like it” attitude was wrong and I’m very happy to admit it 🙂 Might look at prices again at the end of the MCR run… 🙈 I've been keeping an eye on ticket prices with an eye to going back too and they have been reducing some of the single seats for the following week. This probably won't happen for the next few weeks being busy but hopefully in Jan there may be a few bargains to be had.

I'm so torn with this. Evita is one of favourite shows and I still can't decide whether I can make the effort to get across to Leicester to see this (for some reason it's not the easiest of places to get to on public transport from Manchester) This trailer doesn't sell it for me either, but also I don't hate it x.com/ShaunTossell/status/1735982281838170597?t=cq6Qg1aZWfcTUGxHNADJLA&s=09I think it hinges on whether you can cope with an Evita set in the present day. If you can, I’d say go for it. (Would also say, whatever you think of the visual and directorial choices, I think it sounds sensational. Orchestrations updated by Stephen Brooker, he gets way more out of a 9 piece than the Kenwright tour did. Fresh and punchy. And the vocals IMHO are fantastic. As is the sound). I loved the Regents Park production so an updated version isn't a problem for me.

I found those shows so incredibly overwhelming and emotional. After the lockdown, after not hearing live music/theatre for so long and not knowing if we'd ever see it again. The atmosphere of it being outside, with the sunsets and wind, rain etc. I really rate Tyrone (and enjoy his Judas) but when I went and saw Ricardo's name on the cast board I nearly cried with joy! They were so powerful. I'll never forget the moment when the whole cast took to the stage wearing facemasks and then pulled them off during the fanfare. I admit to crying a little at that point.

The honest answer is "no" but I vaguely recall hearing him sing it. I'm pretty sure there's some old audition/showreel footage of him somewhere. But I might be wrong - I lose track of details when I go down JCS rabbit holes. Idea for show. Jesus and Judas flip a coin on stage at the start of each show to see who sings which role. Andrew Lloyd Webber, I’ll just give you my bank details now, you can have all my money. Something similar was done a few years ago with Godspell when the two roles were alternated each night between (if I recall correctly) Jonathan Wilkes and Daniel McPherson e
