The honest answer is "no" but I vaguely recall hearing him sing it. I'm pretty sure there's some old audition/showreel footage of him somewhere. But I might be wrong - I lose track of details when I go down JCS rabbit holes. Idea for show. Jesus and Judas flip a coin on stage at the start of each show to see who sings which role. Andrew Lloyd Webber, I’ll just give you my bank details now, you can have all my money. Something similar was done a few years ago with Godspell when the two roles were alternated each night between (if I recall correctly) Jonathan Wilkes and Daniel McPherson e

As I only booked a few days ago, I ended up with one of the £10 banquette seats. So banquettes can now be booked in advance, our david ? The last time I went to REX they could only be booked in person on the day. You may have sold it to me, so it'd better be good. Hope I don't get anything too burly sitting next to me! Definitely worth seeing. I saw it last week in one of the first previews and really enjoyed it. Some lovely performances, though unfortunately I missed some of the band action as I was sat directly above them in the first balcony. I loved the set, and beautiful opening to Act 2

There are presumably special techniques needed by the performers too, including how not to be continually catching the eyes of audience members. Do they teach this stuff at drama school? I have to confess I’m always fascinated by the people sitting on the “bonkettes” at the REX. There were some very awkward looks from some of the people sat on them at Brief Encounter the other night as one of the cast gets very close to them at one point.

Daily Fail deliberately emphasising the drinking element to the show there. The show actually makes it clear on the type of behaviour they tolerate, there are posters around the theatre about having a good time but showing respect for your fellow audience members. In the very many times I've been to see this I've never seen anyone overstep the mark so the behaviour of these women must have been particularly bad.

Michael Ball just talking to Nicole on his R2 show, asked her if there's going to be a cast recording. Her (hesitant) reply was "I think so"

Pete Waterman just talking about the show on Radio 2 and said that this was the ninth attempt they had at making a musical but the first time it had worked. Would hate to hear what the other eight attempts were like!

I’ve had a tricky relationship with Julian Clary for many years. Back in the day when he broke through on CH4 I did think he was amusing although most of the humour was double entendre which has limited appeal. Then I went to see him on a stand up tour, it was a theatre so he was already successful, it was so embarrassingly bad. He couldn’t handle anything off the cuff, became a nervous wreck when a heckler started. It was awful. I just don’t think he’s very talented, sorry. Totally with you on this. I used to enjoy him in the early days, then I saw him live where most of the act was made up of either endlessly repeating the same entendres or picking on unsuspecting audience members which was just cringeworthy. Have never liked him since and his dire performance as Herod in Manchester just confirmed this.

Just back from tonight's show with a thankfully well behaved audience. I'd never really understood all the hype but thought I couldn't pass the chance to get a really cheap seat at the back of the stalls in the original ATG Presale. Glad I did as I really enjoyed it. I knew some of the music wouldn't be to my style and I did struggle to hear some of the words in the first few numbers- Shaq was off and alternate Jonathan was on. However I absolutely loved the staging. The choreography and the lighting were amazing. I enjoyed the second half better, highlights for me being The Room where It Happens and the movement in the final duel which gave me goosebumps.

I was watching a bootleg of this sequence the other day and the guy who has filmed it must have been so annoying to be sat next to. Every time there was a reference he put on a really false loud laugh and virtually shouted out each one.. "ooh turban HAHAHA...ooh chimp HAHAHA"

Seems like they aren't so Lucky with another cancelled performance. Apparently they had to cancel one a few weeks ago due to a flood. I had a friend who was due to go and he said they'd emailed him to cancel it.

We had Jonathan Wilkes sat next to us at I Should Be Lucky...apparently Had to stand up to let him pass and the woman next to us went all fangirly and asked him for a selfie. Had to ask her who he was as I didn't recognise him, despite having a bit of a crush on him years ago. He's still being introduced as "Robbie William's friend".

Are any of the lyrics rewritten to fit the plot? Actually does that happen in juke boxshows at all ? #naive there were a lot of rewritten lyrics in We Will Rock You- Radio Gaga springs to mind especially.

I was ready to book tickets for a few people and they’ve all dropped out at hearing the running time!! 😂 I quickly booked a ticket for opening night in Manchester without looking at the times and regretting it now.

Three stars from WhatsOnStage, two stars from The Guardian. Five stars from the Manchester Evening News. I'd say the WOS one is spot on. Totally summed up how I felt about it.

Never went, but got the impression from all the pics and social media posts I'd have felt out of place if I had. Seemed to be very much fan girl crowds and wasn't somewhere I really fancied as a late 40's gay man. Usually flying solo before a show. On which topic - where DO single late 40's gays hang out pre show lol? I am too old (and sober) for the Duke of Wellington now.... The Duke of Wellington literally always looks like it's full of late 40's gay men to me? It's always my go- to place. And I'm definitely the wrong side of late 40s

I went to the cafe a couple of times and found it underwhelming both in service and prices. The coffee was awful. The Diner sounds hideous, I don’t want to be sung at while eating an overpriced burger. For those who do, good luck to you. The one time I tried it, I ended up walking out. Was woefully understaffed and the two girls who were working couldn't cope with the demand.

Trailer "dropping"! Oh how I hate that expression, almost as much as "season' instead of series. Me too. It all seems so careless.

From WhatsonStage:
"The concert aims to raise funds for Hope Mill Theatre’s ‘Hope for the Future’ fundraising campaign, in order to secure the future life of the award-winning Manchester venue.
Directed by Joseph Houston and choreographed by William Whelton, co-founders of Hope Mill, the production will explore a new model for Hope Mill productions and aims to bring their work to a larger scale."

Well i got a cheap £20 ticket for back of stalls but no way was I paying the top prices they were asking. No member email for me either, I was only reminded of it when I saw a Facebook ad. Another reason I've cancelled my ATG card, it's not the value it used to be. I far prefer the Lowry or Home these days.
