Which website do you use for past productions? Would be interested in taking a look. I only used Wikipedia for the general theatre hence the missed production probably. Then I just did a search for Pirates of Penzance when it was noted that was missing. I agree though it is interesting looking back on a particular theatre for all it's productions.

Daniel Boys was the standout performance for me, I've always loved his voice. Ivano was dreadful, the vocal was awful. The Les Mis was disappointing as the way it was arranged really detracted from what is a beautiful song.Won't be rushing out to book Hadestown either, not a good representation and the story didn't want to make me get a ticket. Having said that a good overall show but the BBC 2 show had some great clips too.

My first visit was Miss Saigon, though can't remember the year. It's a great thing though looking back at a particular theatre and it's history for all of us. Maybe this thread could continue into other major theatres too.

It's years now since I've been to the OAT. Their scheduling in recent years has been very uninspired. This year is no exception. I guess everyone has their own taste but this season certainly isn't mine!

Have to say this theatre has some of the worst views of any theatre in London. I left at the interval of Sylvia as I could barely see anything. The staff were quite rude and wouldn't move me.

Don’t forget it would benefit from the release of Beetlejuice 2 which is in 2025 I didn't know about that... it sheds a different light on it.

I couldn't imagine Beetlejuice being a big enough pull to fill Drury Lane, but we will have to wait I guess.

"Sandra, if you're going into town gerrus a raspberry yoghurt. If they haven't got raspberry gerrus som'at else." "I couldn't get you raspberry yoghurt, so I got you meat 'n' potato pie instead. Is that alright?"

It feels like London's transport is considered more important than that for the rest of the country. Unfortunately it is the case that most things in London are considered more important than equivalent things happening elsewhere. It's probably always been the case.

Petula was dreadful as Norma. I won't get into this again but I disagree. Have seen others who were not great. Petula when I saw her in Sunset gave in my view a true representation as to how I perceived Norma. She is much an actress as a singer looking at her career. We will agree to disagree again!!

Pet was in her 60's by this point, Although Petula has played the role more than any other having done the role more than any other actor. SUNSET BOULEVARD November 17, 1998--April 9, 2000, US Tour January 9, 1996--April 5, 1997, Adelphi Theatre, West End, London, UK September 2, 1995--October 14, 1995, Adelphi Theatre, West End, London, UK (Six-week run, subbing for Elaine Paige) Without a rest from her grueling Blood Brothers tour in the USA, Petula was asked to play Norma Desmond in Andrew Loyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard in London's West End. Petula thought she wouldn't be right for the part, but fortunately Trevor Nunn was able to convince her that she'd be "marvellous." Trevor honored Petula at a "This Is Your Life" taping (Petula's third) by stating unequivocally, "Petula is the real thing!" Petula performed in Sunset for what everyone believed would be the final time before a packed house in London's West End on April 5, 1997. The following year, Petula (missing "Norma") embarked on an 18 month U.S. tour and became the longest running Norma to date.

I was in both Sydney and Melbourne last November and loved both cities for different reasons. Sure Sydney has more iconic sights but Melbourne has so many plus points too.

Have to agree , excellent storytelling of such an abysmal breach of power. Documentary also on Thursday after the news. Shocking to see and it's difficult to believe it happened.
