Yes they are, but they usually throw discounts out left and right. Out of interest: Where would I have to look for discounts? It's too late for my LND visit anyway (tomorrow next week), just to be prepared for my next time (whatever show that may be).

I wonder how much the tickets will be? 50 pound? They really need to realise that they are a small fringe venue still. Scarlett's legs alone are worth 50quid.

@anthonyhope , welcome to Theatreboard.
There's already a lengthy thread about the 2017 Oliviers in the General section, so I've merged your thread into that one.

was definitely a Green Day fangirl when I was a kid so it's quite a flashback! You were? What happened? I for one still am - and I am very looking forward to Revolution Radio.

Found a list of matinee muck-ups on twitter for anyone who's interested So Carina was playing Glinda then? For both shows? Anywho, that's one of the few times where I'm actually happy that a cast change has finally happened. Now come on 30th January

Very good question, caiaphas. Going by songs I've most often listened to, removing duplicate songs and ignoring the one non-musical song in there, that's, that'd be my Top 5 show tunes according to my iTunes Top 25 playlist: 1, Memphis Lives In Me 2, Steal Your Rock'n'Roll 3, Radio 4, Everybody Wants To Be Black On A Saturday Night 5, Cool Rider However, after spending some more thoughts on this topic, I'd come up with these instead (in no particular order): Memphis Lives In Me from Memphis Proud Of Your Boy from Aladdin If I Can't Love Her from Beauty and the Beast Don't Forget Me from Bombshell/Smash So Much Better from Legally Blonde

I'm not sure, but assume that it follows the blueprint set by the first uk tour (and possibly uses it's set!). It's nowhere near the quality of the first tour! No screens or digital projections. Just floating scenery that wobbles. No illusions. And awful awful casting. (And some cut songs, shortened songs, etc) I think danb means the Asian tour with Emily Tierney

I love muck-up matinees. If it wasn't for them, I'd only see the last show and skip the penultimate.
Anyone going today and can report back, especially the muck-ups? I'm still waiting for some Alice dates (hopefully over New Year's) to finally see the new cast.

I fear the sarah harding tweeter may be slighty deranged having looked through her tweets. They even enthuse about the flyers for the show Just like the various team_whoever Twitter channels that Wicked is blessed with.

I reckon I can do Trafalgar 2 to Dorfman in under 30 minutes pretty easily Google's route planner says it's an 18min walk.

Am I assuming correctly that Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Dearie me. Oh dear. Dear dear dear.... Oh dear. Oh. Dear. is an appropriate summary?

This thread is slowly turning into an online episode of Take Me Out or in some cases Blind Date! Should we rename Theatreboard to match.com?

it's impossible to find someone who's as much into theatre as me Well, at least you're living in London. It's much harder for me as I'm not interested at all in German theatre, so I needed to find someone who's interested in English theatre - and happy to fly over as often as I do. And replying "I really don't like Dance of the Vampires" to someone asking you about your favourite Count Krolock isn't really helpful and did give me some derogatory looks. It seems to be an unwritten law for German musical theatre fans to adore this show - completely beyond my understanding.

I'm seeing much less theatre this year than in the last years: By the end of the year, I will "only" have seen 69 shows, compared to 97 in 2015 and even 107 in 2014. It's not that I've lost interest in theatre, I simply struggle to find shows that interest me enough to justify flying over to the UK.
Last year had Memphis which I loved (27 times, wish it had been much more often), and 2014 had the Wicked and Rock of Ages UK tours and, in the first half, Willemijn Verkaik in Wicked in London. And 2016? Very few of the shows currently running interest me (absolutely no interest in Bodyguard, Kinky Boots, Lion King, Motown, Phantom, Les Mis), and I'm even actively avoiding some of my favourite (long-running) shows because of certain cast members - and I tend(ed) to see them an unhealthy amount of times each year. Heck, there are even two months this year where I (will) have seen no shows at all (May and October).
Here's hoping 2017 will be better - if only there were more upcoming productions to look forward to than School of Rock. Fingers crossed for the Memphis tour to eventually happen...
As I'm not living in the UK, I have to fly over for my theatre fix. So when I'm in the UK anyway, I usually make the most of it and see as much theatre as possible and fill every theatre "slot". Usually, it's only for a weekend though (flying over Friday afternoon, returning home on Sunday) so that I don't have to take time off from work (I work flexible hours so I can easily leave work Friday at noon-ish).
New York is somehow similar to London. I'm not wasting any precious theatre slots, but as I've been there much more seldom than in London, I fill the rest of the day with sightseeing (there's still quite a lot to see - I'll definitely be visiting the 9/11 and Guggenheim museums during my upcoming trip in December).
I also try to combine my other vacations with theatre. I wanted to see the Newsies US tour a few more times, so I looked through their tour schedule and found St. Louis and San Diego as tour stops. Never been to the first and wanted to return to the second for quite some time, so I booked trips to both to see Newsies and for sightseeing and exploring the cities.

But I can't imagine what other leading roles or even supporting roles would suit her Fantine in Les Mis? Kate/Lucy in Avenue Q? Ms Mullins in School of Rock? Mary Delgado in Jersey Boys? Who knows, maybe she'll even return to Wicked in a few years to play Morrible? That said, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Louise Dearman did so in the near future.

I don't understand how anyone can camp for 4 days for a ticket. Don't they have a job that pays them enough that 3 days of work can buy them a ticket?! Don't they have ANYTHING better to do than sit and wait??? Because they want to show their dedication to the cast - and how much they love them? Wicked's cast change is one of the few times where I always prebook a ticket, and if I'm early enough I can even score the front and side seats. That said, I do wonder if they only queue up for the last two shows, or do they also see all shows between now and Saturday? Didn't the queues for Rachel's last show start even earlier?

Update: I did contact ticketmaster.com via eMail at care@ticketmaster.com (don't do social media). Surprisingly, they replied within a few hours, and while they didn't address my booking error, they told me they were happy to book my ticket via eMail. I sent them show, date and seat and they put it in an order, but required to call me for my credit card details. I gave them my phone number, but so far no-one has called. Just tried to call ticketmaster myself (I found two toll-free (but not from abroad) numbers but didn't manage to get through their voice mail system and speak to an actual customer rep). Fingers crossed they'll eventually call me.
