Fair play to Lucie for her persistence! Good for her! I know Emma Williams is the same for the amount of time she has auditioned for Glinda. Those two together would be a pretty decent pairing. Two Glindas and no Elphie? That’ll in fact be an interesting pairing Jokes apart: As much as I’d love to see Emma Williams in the bubble, I think she’s a bit too old now - or at least needs an older Elphaba - she’d have been the perfect Glinda opposite Willemijn a few years ago.

Wicked used to be my go-to show and there wasn't a single trip to London where I didn't see the show at least once, usually even more often. Currently, I'm at 133 times with the record being 30 times in 2014, but with Wicked London's questionable and uninspired casting decisions (it all started with Emma Hatton), I've lost all interest in the show and haven't been for quite some time. And unless they cast someone I really, really want to see (Rachel John please), I have absolutely no interest in returning. Heck, I even haven't seen the current cast and if it posted closing notice, I wouldn't even care.
Rock of Ages stands at 51 times - I absolutely adored the West End production which I've seen 31 times. The first UK tour was OK-ish, but I hated the second UK tour and it ruined the fond memories I have of the show, so I doubt I'll ever see the show again as nothing will ever come close to this experience.
I've seen Book of Mormon 27 times, but, very much like Wicked, their casting (and keeping) of Brian Sears drove me away and now I'm down to maybe once a year, if at all. Another one is Memphis, also at 27 times but all during the one year it ran in London. The first cast was absolute perfection and I still miss the show so dearly that I'd go out of my way to see it again. Sadly I can't stand the Broadway cast (especially their weird Huey), so the DVD is no proper replacement. They should have filmed the West End production professionally - or at least the Broadway replacement cast with Adam Pascal. I've seen Avenue Q 27 times, mostly the various UK tours, plus the Off-Broadway production a few times. Never actually seen it in London. Sadly, I missed Sheridan Smith in Legally Blonde, but nonetheless seen the show 20 times, and Susan McFadden was a (more than) worthy replacement going by the cast recording. No matter how ill-tempered I was, I always left the theatre with a huge smile. Luckily, there's the professional MTV recording of the Broadway production. Newsies is at 14, only once on Broadway, but I travelled to the US three times to see the US tour (in Washington DC, St Louis and San Diego). Three more shows are also in two figures: Aladdin 13, Jersey Boys 15 and School of Rock 11.
Sadly, right now there is no such show in London that would get me back again and again. A Bronx Tale maybe? Loved it on Broadway, but I highly doubt it'll ever get a West End production, similar to Newsies whose ship has sailed I'm afraid.
And yes, I do have a spreadsheet. But the price column is empty. On purpose. There are things I really don't want to know.

And of course there's a German version of this... thing. Why just aren't I surprised by this at all?

But how is this going to help? All 27 remaining EU countries would have to agree to extending article 50, and because of the upcoming EU election in May, the longest extension could only be until end of June, as the new EU parliament will constitute itself in early July. And, IIRC, the EU27 have said that they will only consider agreeing to an extension if there is a "proper" reason like a new election or another referendum and not to give the UK a few more weeks for something it didn't achieve in 2+ years. EU would bite the hand off for an extension. Won't be cheap mind Why? What does the EU gain from an extension? The misery and uncertainty will simply continue for a few more months. If the UK can't get its act together and decide on a way forward, it's better to make a painful break than draw out the agony.

If they were at least closing the West End production and send that one on tour.

They had run out of programmes Ebay usually has a load for sale. Deleted my account a long time ago after a few sellers replied with angry mails about my allegedly bad rating. Personally, I found 3 or 4 stars to be perfectly fine for their performance, but these exchanges got silly and annoying. I’m in London again mid February. Maybe I’ll just pop in and ask if they are back on stock - if they’ll let me in without a ticket that is.

Seen this on Saturday. Despite not enjoying this show at all, I'm glad I went as it showed me that Shrek must have been a lucky one-off and Ms Tesori and I should better part ways in the future. Thankfully, I held back from buying a ticket for Violet, which I'll now be skipping.
I am not exactly a fan of sung-through shows but am fine with them if they have at least a few good songs. This one, unfortunately, doesn't and I found the entire score to be tuneless.

Seen this a few days ago and thought it was great and had a huge smile on my face. Never seen the movie(s) before, but I'll definitely catch up. Simon Lipkin was amazing, and I was so happy to see Ashleigh Gray on stage again. It's been quite a while.
Jo Brand (I only know her from QI) was bearable, but the two Dyers were miscast and really bad. What on earth were they thinking?
As usual, I had to collect my ticket from the box office, but luckily I could bypass the queues for regular entrance and go directly to the box office to pick up my ticket. Oddly, I didn't have to go through the metal detectors and only had someone have a glance in my bag. But still: This is theatre and no effing airport.

Tonight at Tina, front row. The guy next to me smell stank badly. Don't people shower anymore before? I was close to vacating my seat and standing at the very back of the Stalls and was so happy when I was outside again for some fresh air.

Finally seen this tonight as first show of the year (and last of the trip). I'm not a big Tina Turner fan to begin with and still haven't become one after tonight, but I nonetheless really enjoyed the show. Adrienne Warren was on and she was amazing, what a tour de force. Really lucky to have seen her.
Only downside: They had run out of programmes. Never happened to me before, so that's the first show I don't have a programme for. Maybe that's an omen to stop collecting them altogether...

Has CHF done any funny roles before?`
Tbh, I can't see her as Anna at all. Elsa, maybe, but I don't think Frozen needs her fanbase to sell tickets.
Personally, I'd go for the usual suspects and would love to see Rachel John as Elsa and maybe Amy Lennox as Anna. Or how about Carly Anderson who was hilarious in Xanadu?

You know, we could switch to German I'm in Vienna at the end of March, and despite not knowing any song from Fendrich, I might actually consider going. Being originally from Bavaria (the nice part, of course) I don't have many problems with the Austrian dialect anyway

If no deal is likely could EU step in and extend article 50 As such, there would be a majority to extend article 50 in light of a general election being called or during negotiations for a replacement coalition. This is one area that we can be pretty sure of, that enough MPs (with prior agreement already there from the EU) will vote for an extension if it proves necessary. But can this be done unilaterally by the UK, or would the EU27 have to agree to this? Keep in mind that there is an election for the European Parliament in May 2019, so if it were extended after then, British citizens would have to vote in this election and British parties would have to nominate candidates which then would have to step down again once you've actually left the EU.

A bit early for this thread, isn't it? Still have my annual New Year's trip to London coming, where I'll be seeing another five shows.
But anyway: This year continued the trend of seeing less and less theatre. By the end of the year, I will have been to the theatre 28 times (2017: 39, 2016: 70 and a maximum of 107 in 2014). Somehow, producers and I seem to differ more and more in what a good musical actually is, and I didn't have a go-to show for quite some time now. Even my usual re-visit shows drove me away with some of their casting decisions. And 2019 doesn't look too bright, either, as I'm not looking forward to any of the shows opening in London. So far, I've only booked five shows for 2019, four of which are in the US. Well, maybe I should be travelling to New York more often.
Highlights were Mean Girls and Pretty Woman on Broadway, and lowlights were the recent Rock of Ages tour (I even canceled this weekend's trip to Berlin because I can't stand this production and it ruins the fond memories I have of this show) and Heathers.
