Given this opens in a few weeks, have they published any more COVID guidance? Masks etc? 23/10 is opening isn’t it? That’s still some ways off so I’d imagine not yet as the rules change so often!

It’s a tricky one. I bent the rules a little for JCS at Regent’s Park as it’s outdoors but I’d have trouble convincing anyone to come to this with me whether in my bubble or not. This meant I had to jump on a single ticket.

I can't find any way to book single seats, unfortunately. I think they were all snapped up. There were 2 on the matinee when I first looked then one went and I took the second.

That was 37 at the start. Quite a few more by the end with people who had gone to the toilets not allowed back into the theatre. Some clearly not too happy. One having an animated conversation on his phone just by the lawn area. I agree with the ushers not letting them back in, everyone was told on entry. But they should fine them somewhere else to stand rather than be inflicted on the people who have paid for the lawn. One woman came and sat on the other side of the table I was at, ignoring the social distancing sign. I let it slip as she was elderly and I didn't want to cause a scene. Last night I did wonder what happened to all the people who left and didn’t return. I’d assumed they were crucified.

I might have imagined it but I saw someone say there was a page on the theatre site where they were just listing the single tickets available - does anybody have a link? Thank you! On the event information page they list them all but I don't think they list what are available when without looking: openairtheatre.com/production/jesus-christ-superstar-the-concert

I am looking forward to this on Saturday but again am struggling with the transport arrangements, my last train home is 22:35 from Waterloo (I was planning to comfortably make the 23:05). Has anyone noticed what time the show finishes recently? It is looking a bit tight for comfort! 19:45 start, finished about 22:10. I would say the 22:35 was impossible and I wouldn't even have risked a 23:05 as you're completely the wrong side of London for Waterloo. Any chance of changing to the matinee? Only other option I can think of (perhaps) would be the overground to Clapham Junction and connect there, but that all depends where you're heading from Waterloo. There are some very cheap hotels in Wembley right now too (Travelodge, Ibis etc). Thanks. I think there was a later train than the 23:05, that was just the one I was aiming for. As you say 22:35 is looking impossible. I have found some good hotel deals so looks like it might be a weekend out rather than a day out!

That’s a great video. They are really lucky as the whole venue is huge, not just the performance space. I am there in 9 days and really excited!

70-75 minutes is standard for Mischief Movie Night ordinarily, not just under coronavirus conditions, & they're usually pretty good at not over-running. Two years ago I recall easily getting a train just after 9pm in Leicester & that was a 7.30pm start. Given a check of the Brighton Open Air Theatre's website gives the start time as 630pm, you'll have masses on time to get a train at 9pm. In fact if there's a train an hour earlier then you might well be able to make that. Thank you (and Sophie92). I’ll stand down the hotel search! As long as I can comfortably make the 9pm, I hate watching my watch during a show.

Bum, fiddlesticks and rats. The trains I was planning to get home from Brighton no longer exist. The last train with connections is 21:02!! What is the usual running length of the show? I might have to go back to finding a hotel (though may be too late to get the Friday off work!

I applaud the producers of this. They obviously want it to happen so much and as has been mentioned the space suits social distancing. The trailer is a little odd but seems to follow the style of movie musical trailers not showing singing either! I hope I have an enjoyable evening there in a couple of weeks. It has been fun spotting my seat in the little snippets on social media from the production and cast. I’m ramping up with a no theatre trip to London this Saturday, outdoor theatre (JCS) the Saturday after then sleepless the Saturday after that. Not sure when my next 2 show day will be!

I want to think positively. If the snooker is a success it will help there be more trials. It is easy to pick photos where everyone looks close together or it looks barren to help your case

OK Guys - after the furore on the Follies thread back-in-the-day when it was announced there would not be an interval at The National, I am very disappointed we've not had several pages detailing ideas, concerns and expectations about how people's bladders might fare at an interval-less JCS. Personally, mine is quite weak so will be going at the last possible moment before entering the auditorium and restricting myself to one small diet coke for the duration. This issue is compounded at the Open Air where they are famously militant about not letting you back in should you need to go mid-show. Ahhhh, the heady days when #bladders, #willtherebedayseats, #howhighisthestage and #whenwillthesecondcovermidwifebeon were the most of our worries. I am glad to still have a good bladder. I finally got round to watching the Lord of the Rings films at the cinema. If I can get through those without a loo break I’ll get through anything the theatre world can throw at me. It will be nice thinking about all these trivialities again!

I agree. It seems an odd choice as shops exist so it isn’t too different. I’d get it being cash free or prebooked only even. I really do hope there is a clear cast board we can photograph on the way in with the double casting.

I know its easy for us sitting at home but this does seem a good idea. Even if they have to adapt it to Six 'in concert' it seems an ideal one to adapt as it starts with a small cast. I think it is the introduction back in to theatre we need. I think it would be more likely if it was already in an LWTheatres house as ALW seems keenest to get going and I feel he could make the swap happen. Its already “in concert” isn’t it? I can’t imagine what could be done to make it any more so. It’s six girls and a band on stage singing. I haven't actually seen it yet. I meant some distinction that this isn't the normal show. Six: Socially distanced edition

Do you have a link to the announcement / other dates website? The Regents park date isn't ideal for me (as I'm seeing JCS that Saturday and don't fancy two trips so close together) but might fancy a trip another time :-D There were announcements on their Twitter & Instagram @mischiefcomedy this morning. Thank you. After some dithering about traveling solo to another county on a school night I have booked. Now trying to decide if I book a hotel and make a midweek-weekend out of it!

I'm not generally much of a Muppets fan but that Gethsemene is terrific! I was shrieking with laughter at all the dead frog pictures! I sent it to my friend as the casting announcement for the Regent’s Park concert. Wasn’t sure if I should include a trigger warning for the 3 minute mark!

I am thrilled whoever I get to see but as I’m going twice it would cool to see both sets where they are doubled. I wonder if it will be a schedule or a mystery until you see the cast board

I'm tempted to give this a go in September. Does anyone have an idea of the running time? Trying to decide between matinee and evening.

£65 paid for JCS, but £45 soon to be refunded for City of Angels. Net cost £20 for an evening of theatre. Not bad, considering. My kinda logic! I bought a robot vacuum cleaner based on this. Well done! That’s still £65 cost for a night of theatre Shhh! 🤫 In 3 days I’ve booked 2 trips to this and had to rebook Joseph after a late realisation that I can’t make the date I was rebooked for (and as the new date isn’t a preview a hefty chunk more expensive). My refunds from Six, City of Angels and Be More Chill (as well as a friend buying my original Joseph tickets) certainly help the maths!

As soon as I get up the nerve, after a lot of dithering, to book for the Regent's Park MMN, Mischief then announce they're going to be appearing in Wandsworth & Brighton too, which I certainly can't get to. Depressing that I won't be able to see the vast majority of this lot of MMNs (Cornwall definitely not being getable-to either). When they did London Dec 17-Jan 18 I managed to get to about half the shows (admittedly I nearly gave myself a nervous breakdown in the process!) & the 2018 tour I managed nearly a third. This time it'll be a seventh at most.

Presumably (and unfortunately) they will also have to recast when this returns. People will have aged in the interim period and they tend to cast Evan young. A shame for all the actors who unknowingly gave their final performance with no fanfare (in this show and many others). Unlikely I'd say. A year doesn't really make a difference. I’d hope the cast who want to return get at least a short contract back. Will surely be easier than recasting the whole thing right away

Just show old films - nostalgia can be profitable.
Not that profitable, especially if masks stop the sale of confectionary. I watched a Friday afternoon showing of The Princess Bride. £5.60 instead of over £10 for a first run. I was the only one in there.

I expect they looked at their historic booking patterns. If they can sell groups of 2/3 and make it financially viable then that’s what they’ll do. Every seat off sale will cut their income. I think “appalled” is an over reaction. Appalled is a subjective feeling, nothing more, so I'm not sure it's anyone's place to judge my choice of words or tell me not to feel a particular feeling. Thanks for me making me feel even worse on a day that is already crap for a multitude of reasons. Solo life is lonely enough and difficult enough without these sorts of supposedly spirit-lifting activities being made that much more inaccessible because I am not in a bubble. I’m trying to stay positive but agree. 90% of my trips are normally solo. 11 top price and 1 second price single seats aren’t enough really. But I prefer being able to choose, I think the only way it could have worked otherwise is them assigning seats once the bookings are in.

I think it’s tricky. I can’t tell if it’s 1 or 2 empty to the side of each block but that makes it a lot more empty seats per block of 1 compared to bigger blocks. I think they have been a bit stingy. It does mean I booked a pair for my second trip rather than a single Edit: it’s 2 empty seats and an empty row so a solo seat is really 6 seats whereas 4 is 10 so only 2.5 each. (2 is 8 so 4 each, 3 is 10 so 3.3 each).

I always planned to go with a friend (social bubble appropriate) to replace Six. I couldn’t bare the anticipation for general sale so bought priority and our pair. I intended to go on my own for closing night too but booked another pair as the £25 ones are fine for me (I chose the shady side!)
