People keep mentioning a different entrance for the upper circle. I’m sure it is possible but I don’t think it normally has one.

From a business point of view cancelling the cheap seats makes most sense. I just hope they decide soon so I can book something else. If I lose panto too for the same reason I’ll be destroyed though.

And that shows how silly a blanket 50% capacity limit is. The rules should be on distance apart, it seems crazy closing a level could (more or less) meet the rules then still squeeze people in on the lower levels.
There are still (very) expensive tickets on sale for many dates too.

Now I might be reading too much into things, but I've just looked at my DMT+ future bookings, and three separate bookings for Les Mis are not listed - one group of 3 in Grand Circle cheap seats, and two single mid-price seats on seperate dates. The remainder of my bookings are listed (comprising 2xpairs and 2xtriplets, all in the dearer price range). So... the question is... Have DMT decided to wipe out the Grand Circle plus a selection of singles/pairs elsewhere to make up the 200 seat reduction in capacity? All seats that are not listed are the less expensive ones (£35/£45). The ones left are £95/£165 category. Any thoughts? Has anybody else with multiple bookings via DMT+ checked? Neither of my bookings (both upper circle) are showing. I’d hope they haven’t cancelled the one near the end of the run as surely there is a chance of a relaxation.

Another tech question - can I start watching a little late? I’ve seen you can pause and resume as long as you finish by 11. Could I start at 8? Getting home for 7:30 might be a rush (possible if essential type thing!) Yes, it's only 2 hours 20 minutes (although allow time for technical issues). Great. I may be home in time - it’s technical issues I’m allowing for really (and getting comfy rather than having to run in the door and press play!) when i originally queried with hope mill they said I had to start on time which I took to mean it was streaming ‘as live’. Maybe they didn’t know what technology they were using then.

CamMack should just move the whole shebang to the Prince Edward Theatre, with its 1,716 seats. There, sorted in 30 seconds. I'll invoice him later. Probably reading way too much in to it - BUT - Rob Houchen just posted a pic of the cast sat in the auditorium of the Prince Edward.... (Not labelled as such but I recognised it, as did a few other people in the comments) My heart can't take much more of this - and I still have 3 1/2 weeks to go! If they still manage to pull this out of the bag then that first performance back will be something really special!

Also, does anyone know how long the stream is available for? Or can you only watch it at a specific time.
Pretty sure it’s geolocked to play at the exact time it starts and then no replays When I asked they said it had to be watched on time (as getting in for 19:30 might be tight for me!)

I’m hoping they add more performances and ask for volunteers to move but that would be an admin heavy task! There’s no easy answer to this!

How much variation across a run is there? As so little on at the moment if I went to see it a few times across the run would there be much changes or would it be the luck of the draw? I was supposed to see magic goes wrong on 22/01. I see there is a 5pm and an 8pm mischief movie night, tempted to do both!

When I have been cinema has felt even safer than theatre (by its nature theatre has been sold out or near enough as it is limited, cinema has been quiet!!)

Twitter was alight with ‘never heard of her’ comments.. kind of depressing that just because the 13 year olds have never heard of her, somehow she is a nobody. I've usually heard of around half the people in any of these kind of shows. Ruthie is one of the few I have actually seen in person!

I'm confused. Not difficult I know but is this thread about Beauty and The Beast, Anything Goes or bring rude about Sheridan Smith? Or all of the above? Seems to be 50% Beauty and the Beast, 25% other shows at the Palladium, 25% Sheridan and Jane bashing!

There are stories going round that your car insurance will be invalid if you make a non-essential journey under lockdown. It's complete nonsense, of course. Your insurance is governed by the contract you agreed to when you paid for it and nobody can make arbitrary changes to it without notice and further agreement. But it makes me wonder why stories like this get started. There's no possible source that could have been misinterpreted this way, so somebody must have made a deliberate decision to scare people by creating an outright lie. What's the point? Did someone think "Lockdown isn't enough of a problem so I'll be an arsehole about it"? The answer is yes. I used to work in insurance (before moving on to the sexier world of Local Government Pensions) and what probably happened is a shred of truth snowballed then got shared with out context and snowballed a bit more. If it was illegal to drive on a non-essential journey (points on your licence type illegal) then it could be argued that you aren't insured. But you would still have 3rd party cover as the insurer cannot opt out of that! (don't quote me, when I left insurance I forgot as much as I could) Its a danger of social media that it is so easy to share stuff without a source and people believe it and then twist it a bit further.

Not sure how much infrastructure is left but probably helps that it used to be a TV studio. Still odd to bring it all over here though.

Just gone on public sale at The Mayflower and it’s definitely in socially distant setup. Lots of 2s, 3s and 4s and a few 1s. I’ve booked the first night which should be something special

The vaccine news makes me feel much more confident about booking stuff for next year now. Anyone else? I hope so. It is still odd that I have shows sold as socially distanced around the same time as ones sold as normal in my diary. I wonder when the real changeover will be. Hopefully booking 2 more with on-sales today. Let’s hope they are the last socially distanced ones I book.

I admire their ambition and wish them luck but is there really enough demand for this to fill 5 weeks in the West End in a pandemic? It’s a risk but surely a cast of 5 and small band in concert is less of a risk than many shows. (Will it have the student chorus again?, that made more sense to me in the one off concert format)

Mainly ATG venues at mo - from March, being sold at full capacity. It is great to hear about new tours being announced (Beauty and the Beast and The Osmonds thing also this week), but there are SO many tours from this year rescheduled from Spring onwards part of me would really like to see at least some of these actually happening before they concentrate on new stuff. Clearly none of us have a crystal ball but is theatre with no social distancing in 4 months realistic? Mayflower hasn’t gone on sale yet but is listed as socially distanced

Rearranged for 20-24 January, bookings moved. Mine now clashes with magic goes wrong. That's a shame. I have just had the e mail and I can do the new date so that's good. As this is going to be a "one off" event are you able to move your Magic tickets? I’ve emailed them to ask if they can move one to the Friday (both are with Nimax). Looks like my 4 show weekend might turn to a 5 show weekend!!! (Also got Six, Jamie and Les Mis currently) Edit to add: Magic goes Wrong moved to the Friday, sorted in 15 minutes from me emailing in!

I really hope they are able to reschedule this rather than cancel. I'd be more happy for them to hold onto my money so I can get same seat and if they could fit it in b4 Christmas that would be a treat but I'm doubtful. Rearranged for 20-24 January, bookings moved. Mine now clashes with magic goes wrong.

Did anybody get tickets for Dick Whittington at The National? Thanks for the reminder, I have now. Went for the on stage seats for a unique view.

I put in a request to change my seats last night (as my new date was the exact same evening as I was going to Back to the Future) and this evening got an email with new seats for my chosen performance. Great service from LWTheatres

Looking forward to the matinee today ! Anyone else going ? Given this weekends announcement think it will be an emotional one !! If they sing “Sunday” I will be in bits !! I’m on my way to the evening performance via Portsmouth for a bit of Christmas shopping, just in case! I’m not sure if I’m happier or sadder knowing that it is my last show before lockdown this time around

I’ve booked. Went for a slips seat as the circle looks a long way back. Especially the ‘cheap’ seats. It seems to automatically block the 2 seats next to you off.
