I am going to stick my neck out here... I loved this show, I really did, but I'm really quite surprised at how many people are returning and returning for this. And considering spending this much. It was a brilliant night out but... So, Monday will be my 7th visit. I've never paid more that £30 for a ticket to it. I am a huge Minchin fan and I properly love the score, the performances, the staging and the story. I notice different little things every time I go. This week I watched it from the Lillian Bayliss for the first time so got to properly see the revolves in action and was blown away by that (also how pretty the floor of the stage is! everyone in the stalls is missing that!).
I suspect I wouldn't have gone this many times in such a short space of time had it been an open ended run but I've not loved a musical on in London this much for a long time. I'm lucky that I work really near the theatre, am in front of a computer quite a lot and can just about afford to keep going back to see it!

Most of the seats in the circle and stalls seemed to be £150, the upper circle had about 20/25 seats that were £30 but that was all.

^ About 60 seats left - mainly stalls, 4 in the dress circle. All £150. Everything else is gone. Doesn't mean they are totally sold out, as maybe they have some held back for tomorrow, but that is the state at the moment. Limited to 4 per customer. There will be day seats on that date, too, the box office tell me. crikey. Thanks for the info.

Anyone with membership had a chance to look at how many tickets for the final show on Monday have sold ahead of public booking opening tomorrow?

I've only read the past dozen or so pages of the thread but thanks to everyone for convincing me that my little tale of woe should have a happy ending: I had a great ticket for the very first preview of GD but I had to return it because my house move got rescheduled for that day. I then made plans to attend the next week but one of my cats went missing from my old house on the day of the move so my train tickets went to waste. I haven't had the opportunity to get up to London since, but reading all these raves and knowing this is my last chance to see the show at the Old Vic, I have booked a seat on the overnight 'milk train' from the West Country on Saturday and I will be in the day seat queue from stupid o'clock. I'm stupidly excited too! I just hope I can sleep on the train and don't start snoozing during the show. I've never day seated at the Old Vic before - anyone know what time the cafe opens so you can collect the numbered day seat vouchers? TIA! I think the cafe opens later on Saturdays (9 or 10) so you'll mainly be queueing outside the front of the theatre I think! Good luck!!!

Presumably if no cast album has been recorded so far (and we'd probably have heard about it if it had) then we won't get one of this production. Once they've finished, everyone will move to different jobs in different places and it would be a nightmare to get them all in one place to record it. I know Tim said there'd be an album, but it may be a long way away from a Broadway cast. I expect we won't get one until it's on Broadway. But, if I remember rightly the Matilda cast recording was recorded between the Stratford and West End, whilst the cast were all busy doing other stuff, so there is always hope!

Extra charity performance at 7.30pm on Monday 19th September. On sale to friends level members Wednesday at noon, to the general public from Thursday 16th September. Prices from £12 to £150 VIP tickets. What do we think the chances of there being any tickets left after the friends booking period are?

My friend has done it a few times and I'm trying next week. Friend did a Tuesday and got there at 8:30, too late to get anything, 7:30 on a Thursday, 9th in queue and got evening tickets.

(i) female (ii) It's brilliant, adds depth and grabs your attention at the beginning of the act. (iii) No. It's about Phil realising he doesn't know everything and needs to look past first impressions. The musical version feels considerably less sexist than the film because the women in it are better written characters.

Anyone had an email about their seats? I've had one from see tickets to say that my original seats Stalls I11-13 have been changed to I 51-53 due to an error? Looks to me like these are better seats...guessing they have finalised the staging now? Yes I did. My seat number has changed by 1 so I don't think it's much of a change!

Also was there yesterday. And did a backstage tour before that. Can't talk about anything but how great Andy Karl is and keep reeatching that Give It Away video... Would love to see the show again, sadly all the cheaptickets are all gone now Yes I think the chances for bargains in the stalls are definitely gone and it looks like all the cheap seats are gone too. time to start considering the day seat queue!

Edit: Since that's no longer about Groundhog Day, back to the show. I really enjoyed being able to spot things I'd not seen before like "Rita" and "Larry" as town folk at the beginning to bulk up the population. I also noticed the various looks of the Hot Dog seller, was he three different people or just two? I noticed Rita in the opening too, Larry appears throughout as general ensemble quite a bit i think? I'm sure he's in the tap number. I only spotted two different hotdog sellers but I'm not sure there isn't 3 of them!

Hope you managed to keep your job too, dippy. It wasn't essential that I was there, it was only a summer office party, I work remotely so I hardly ever actually see anyone in the office so that was the main reason I should have gone. More a reminder that I exist and am not just a zombie who uses their computers when they aren't at work. Back to Groundhog Day though, I was sitting next to someone who obviously didn't enjoy himself at all. When that happens does it affect your enjoyment? It did mine. He laughed maybe once or twice and I know you don't have to clap but he rarely did. Also his phone was more interesting than the show at the start of the second half. When you sit next to someone who really isn't enjoying a performance do you feel you can't laugh as much and enjoy it less? Is that just me? I think he also glared at the woman he was with when she started to stand at the end so she sat back down (I didn't stand (and not because of him), I'm not a fan of standing ovations so unless forced up by others because I can't see I tend to stay sitting). Yes! The second time I went I was sat next to a couple who were clearly not paying any attention to the show and instead almost bickering, it really ruined my enjoyment of it. Last night a few people were really fidgety next to me but not too annoying.

Are these cheap front stalls seats from the old vic website? Yes. £30 and then sometimes £21 have been popping up on the website sometimes a few days before and then on the day. Best bargain i got was a £90 for £21! Just keep checking the website basically.

Thanks @theatremonkey and foxa those were my thoughts too but I just wanted to see if others were thinking that way. That's one reason I decided to go again tomorrow when I saw the reduced seats because I thought it could be the last cheap chance of seeing it, so possibly my last time. Guess I've got to make up my mind soon, the other thing isn't something I have to do but it's work related, annoyingly in Bristol, and I kind of should go. I do know what I'd rather do though! I've done exactly the same thing for tomorrow too Dippy. Decided to take the opportunity (again!) whilst it was available.

Saw this for the third time tonight. Last week they definitely sang something at the curtain call, this week it was just music for "nobody cares" song playing over the bows.
Few little technical hitches this time, and slightly longer than planned interval whilst they swapped in someone to cover the police chief track, the actor usually playing him became indisposed during the interval.
Loved it again, that cast work so hard and Andy Karl is just getting better and better. Some lovely little nuances have come into his performance and once again I'm blown away by his energy!

Wow. Might be time to start considering setting up a line sitting business! It's like Hamilton all over again literally. But someone in the line said 30-40 people got in yesterday, if I heard it correctly. So maybe better odds? Wow that's impressive!
