The thing that has made it stand out for me above other shows is that when I listen to the cast recording I never want to skip anything. That's never happened with any show before; even the ones I really, really love. The way in which nerdy internet culture has adopted Hamilton fascinates me; it doesn't happen often on this scale- though I suspect Lin Manuel Miranda being a total fanboy about so many things helps!
Yes its not everyone's cup of tea, but if you are a school kid learning about the founding fathers and you get to learn history from a very modern sounding musical rather than a dull textbook then that must be thrilling. When I was at school and we studied Romeo and Juliet, everyone was totally obsessed with the Baz Lurhmann film version because it was a different, modern and exciting way to engage with a thing that's otherwise a bit dull to a teenager!

Just to check - we don't actually have dates yet for the Old Vic run do we? not yet, just vaguely June onwards I think!

The lottery is happening in person at the theatre still, the only one day they did it online they had 50k entries!
There's hundreds of people at the lottery, if you have the time and the money for a full price ticket I would reccomend the returns queue. I stood in like for 4 hours on a Sunday and got a centre stalls row H seat for $169. I think the line starts pretty early in the morning these days but is worth the wait if you are at or near the front of the queue!

And they've just had to stop the show because of a horrible loud crunching sound that kept coming out of the speakers! Hopefully it'll be back up and running shortly! :s Blimey you sure you weren't at the Garrick? Haha! I was definitely at the NT. It started up again after about 10 minutes, thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the show!

I'm at the show right now. Adore Patsy Ferran and agree with everyone on that transition to the forest, really impressive.

Someone suggested somewhere that Lin Manuel Miranda might come over and open as Hamilton in London for 3 months. I quite like that for plausibility!

Booked a front row seat for the end of May through ATG, £35 seemed a reasonable enough price (not excited enough about seeing this to pay £60 upwards which is pretty much what every seat between there and the back row costs), I'm just hoping I don't get a cricked neck from sitting so close to the front. I just booked some front row seats too, I'm sure I've sat there before and its been ok. Decided i'd rather be looking up than being far away!

This week is As You Like It at the National on Wednesday. And then something else, probably a musical. Will get a ticket on the day for something!

Quite a few friends of mine who aren't theatre inclined have messaged me about this because of Kit Harrington... So guess what ticketing website I'll be refreshing on Tuesday morning ?

Saw this again the other day on a Thursday eve. Sad to see the audience only half full for a cast giving it their all. Enjoyed the show but was a little distracted at how cold it was in there! Thankfully tea was available from the bar!

Apparently a new Broadway booking period will be opening shortly for anyone keeping an eye on these things.

Hunchback has always been one of my absolute favourite Disney films and I've had this cast recording on preorder for a while. Apart from Topsy Turvy pt 1 missing from my iTunes I am really enjoying this. Such an epic feel to it and the new songs fit in beautifully. Would love to have seen this show.

Same name, new avatar from my NYC trip!
So I am a London dweller who makes up stories for TV comedy and drama! Geeky about basically everything and struggling with a serious Hamilton addiction right now.
