Managed to get last min tickets for last nights performance. It was only my second time seeing the show, the first being back in 2010. I think the show is still looking and sounding great! I thought Nikki Bentley and Helen Woolf were both fabulous, I did feel they both took time to get into the roles, but vocally both were great. I think that people know the show inside and out now, so it still surprises me that performers can still find ways to make things funny for 'their' Elphie/Glinda. We didn't enjoy Alistair at all, I don't know if its just not a role that suits him, but I thought he didn't sound vocally great, and he just looked awkward and uncomfortable. The rest of the cast and the ensemble I thought were great, standout for us was Kim Ismay as Madame Morrible, we thought she was fabulous, the role can be done very shouty/caricature, but actually we felt that she had really film villainous quality to her, that bubbles away until shes allowed to burst forth and reveal her true intentions. I can see why this show is still running, it is such a recognisable subject matter, and it still really does bring the magic and wonder of Oz to the stage! I think I won't be waiting so long next time to make my next visit

Any idea of when casting will be announced for this? A friend and I are planning on going, and hopefully seeing some familiar names will make it even more worth it! You won’t be seeing familiar names in the leads but can guarantee they will be worth seeing - new graduate friends of mine have been cast in this production. I think we'd have been going regardless, but good to know that the cast should be good regardless

Its not a show that I know well at all, but if it has some potentially good casting I'm sure they'll pull it out of the bag!

I agree, lets bring it back around to an appreciation of the show! I've not booked tickets yet but I can't wait to see it, and see what they've done with it! I want reports from people who see it ASAP!

Do you think the purple seats will stay? We're they added in just for Aladdin? I don't remember them being purple when going to see Miss Saigon . Yep, they have been present since the refurb (pre-Miss Saigon). Haha I was clearly quite enamoured with front row Saigon that I didn't notice!

We are talking about the slips, at the sides of the circle. The main block is cramped but tolerable in the front section at least. Thats what I get for not reading through before replying haha!

uh oh. I'm in the upper circle for my first visit anyway so might have to go check it out and work out a plan! I sat in the Upper Circle when I went to go see Company, and had no issue with regards to leg room. I'm over 6 foot, and yes it was a little cramped, like all older theatres are, but I didn't come away thinking that it was awful! Though we were centre row, just my thoughts x

He had a similar achievement over on Broadway when Sunset opened with Glen and Micheal, but I'm sure that was only 4. So 5 is quite and achievement indeed.

We are up in the Grand Circle, will we miss much being up that high and slightly to the side? Height, not at all. The Palladium is incredibly intimate. I've seen stand-up comedy from row D up there and still felt very close. As the stage is wider and further back than usual, you won't miss anything at the sides either. Thats great to hear, thanks TheatreMonkey! The last thing I saw at the Palladium was Wizard of Oz, and though we were high up, we were pretty central, so had no complaints, but that was a LONG time ago haha!

I'm really eager to see this! Has anyone got tickets last minuet in person, if so how did they get on location/price wise? Never seen anything here, so any advise on where to sit/where to avoid would be greatly appreciated.
What do they do if it is rained off?

I'll be seeing it tonight, never seeing another production and only being shown the filmed version earlier on in the year! So I'm really eager to see what they've done with the show, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Sheridan on stage (Managed to miss her in Funny Girl and didn't see Legally Blonde). I'll reserve my judgements about it going to Broadway until I've seen it so I can give an informed opinion on it We are up in the Grand Circle, will we miss much being up that high and slightly to the side?

Just watched the Curve season launch and for those wondering, they confirmed this isn't going to be the same production as the last tour. Well the previous tour was directed by Craig Revel Horwood, so it doesn't surprise me that it'll be a new production. I think they are trying to tell the same story but from a different perspective, which i think will be interesting to see! Has it been announced yet who will be directing this production?

Curve are usually quite at putting their own stamp on shows, so it will be interesting to see what they do with this! It'll also be nice to have their Christmas musical not being Christmas themed

I've tried the last couple of days for rush tickets and haven't seen a seat pop up yet. All still are immediately sold out. Exactly the same for me! Every time I try, as soon as I go into it at 10am the seats are already in peoples baskets. I thought I'd try again this morning with the new rules in place, to see if anything changed, but it was still the same! Hopefully it might make a difference, it might not, but we'll see!

My other half and I managed to get last min tickets to this last week. Purchased in person about half an hour before, no major discounts, but managed to get decent tickets in the stalls that we used vouchers to get. Having not seen it in the park, but heard great things about it, and never seeing JCS at all (other then the filmed arena tour), I was excited to finally tick another show off the list!
I thought that it translated really well from an outside space onto a pross stage, though my partner did think that the stage felt a little bit small. We both thought that all performances were fantastic, and I can be one to not like pointless choreography, but I actually really liked the staging and the movement used. It always felt that it was enhancing the action going on, though the use of cannon as it builds through the company did get a little repetitive! I thought the imagery created with the silver hands, and the lashing using the glitter I thought was very poetic! Though I did wish that it was a different colour glitter, as with it being gold, we did get a bit confused with the as we called it the 'glitter orgy' in the 1st act, so some slight differences between the two I think would have worked slightly better/clear. My partner also thought the sound sounded off at times, but he's very big into sound, I thought it sounded fine haha!
I have also never been to the Barbican Theatre, so it was nice to finally experience a show there.
Overall I thought a great production, that has been worthy of all the praise it has received in its many iterations!

Sounds like he just had trouble doing both! Hmm, I had booked a second night, I wonder if they'll do refunds. I would hope not, with it being a limited run, all the rest of the cast will be ready, and performers have come into shows with less time and bigger roles and been fine, so lets hope it doesn't come to that!

Any tips for a Wicked ticket newbie, would be wanting 4 tickets, decent seats that don't cost me the moon. Also any do's/don'ts like where to avoid in the auditorium Get up early and do the day seat line - 2 of you can buy four seats in the front row at £29.50 each. Otherwise, restricted view side stalls are OK in advance. There isn't much rake in the front stalls, so you may as well go cheaper. The dress circle's sound is never brilliant, but the view from the rear section isn't terrible. The rear stalls do beat it, though. If you have kids you will need booster cushions back there, though. Plenty on my site about it all. Thanks TheatreMonkey! That's great advise!

So what is the August 31 save the date tweet really about? I would assume that its maybe tour cast announcements? I would also assume this has something do with all of the purple crowns that were shared! Excited to see what it is though!

My one and only time I've seen Wicked was back with Alexia was Elphie (though we actually had Ashleigh Gray, who I believe was Standby, so I'm guessing around 2009 I saw it?) I have some friends who have never seen the show, and have an opinion that they won't like it, so I would like to prove them wrong by taking them to it! As I think the show is wonderful when its all together, and thats where its shines! Any tips for a Wicked ticket newbie, would be wanting 4 tickets, decent seats that don't cost me the moon. Also any do's/don'ts like where to avoid in the auditorium

I'm totally on the train for a propper Startlight Express Revival, nothing has come close for to to the original (granted updated) version in London! To be honest I think I'd settle for a propper filmed English version filmed in the theatre in Bochum! I've not seen it on here yet, but I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a full fledged production of the Secret Garden! The cast for the 2016 Manhattan Concert production was insane, and I've seen and heard clips, but full production of that was be There were rumours/talks of a world/arena tour of Lord of the Rings, but either something similar to that or a new production (maybe at Regents Part Open Air?) would be beautiful! Though I'd only be happy if Laura Michelle Kelly reprised her role as Galadriel. I don't want much do I?

Is there any tips for Rush Tickets with Six? I have tried so many times, but as soon at it hits 10am, I seem to never stand a chance haha! Am I being optimistic to think that I'll ever get tickets that way, or should I just bite the bullet and book in advance? Also any ideas/thoughts on who might be in the tour cast?

Has anyone Day Seated on a Saturday for this recently? I'm coming down this weekend, seeing Heather's on the Sunday, and Fun Home Saturday matinee, and we're considering seeing Strictly Ballroom, just trying to decide the best way to get tickets. Thoughts anyone? Happy to hear suggestions, whether it's Day Seats, TKTs Booth, TodayTix's or just the theatre themselves ☺️
