Is Michael Harrison Entertainment the company behind the Palladium pantos? Hopefully that means it should be a quality production?

So next year sees Joseph at the Palladium, Jesus Christ Superstar at the Barbican, and Evita at Regents Park. 2019: the year of ALW and TR!

Sod John Lewis (full of “partners” who seem to spend all day just chatting with other “partners”). Aldi’s Kevin the Carrot is the only Christmas ad I care about.

I’m confused (not unusual). Is this a live action movie with people dressed as cats? If not, what does it matter whether someone can dance, as presumably they’ll be computer generated?!?

Sniffer dogs on entry? Has it become that sort of crowd? Haha. Much more effective than someone half heartedly poking around in your bag, I’d have thought.

This makes me curious to see how there going to do the ticket system when the show tours in a few years time as most theatres like the wales millenium centre allow u to select your seat. Makes me think will they do it this way or start introducing the paperless ticket system when the show goes on tour. You can select your seat in London too, not sure what that has got to do with it.

I think it is ridiculous that such dangerous items are so easily sold to morons who let them off in the most inappropriate places. Yes, I agree they should be banned.

Interesting. Wonder if they've done some revisions as the US version didn't really work very well. Sometimes Lapine needs to let someone else direct his work for it all to make sense. It’s being directed by Mehmet Ergen, Arcola’s Artistic Director

”The Fields Of Ambrosia" offered refunds to anyone who left at the interval in the weeks before it closed. Yep, I joined the queue of those getting their money back.

During BOOH they were saying the water ban was for “security reasons”. When I was stopped I just put the bottle in my coat pocket and went to a different door.

Another two weeks before I see the show myself, but I can't wait! "What Part Of My Body Hurts The Most" is one of my favourite songs. A couple of numbers from the scrapped "Batman" musical have made it into this show I see! What can you tell me about the scrapped Batman musical Steve? You can read about it here: jimsteinman.wikia.com/wiki/Batman_(musical)There are also demo recordings of some of the songs, including ‘Not Allowed To Love’ and ‘In The Land Of The Pig....’, which can be found here: jimsteinman.com/dreampol.htm

The show has never needed a drag queen as the plant, and all previous productions have been great without one.
But in this production there is one, and it does add a lot to it! Yeah, a cool puppet is funny, but actual facial expressions are even better. There is so much more to watch for and so much more humour. I’m not saying all productions should now follow this one, but I’m very glad I saw this version.
I also liked the way the agent/editors wife/etc at the end all walked out of the plant, and were dressed in its colour scheme. Implies it’s not just Seymour’s success that brought them, but something more sinister is going on too.

“Who Needs The Young” is an awful song, and as mentioned above, really holds up the show at the beginning. Won’t be cut though as it is one of the very first songs Steinman ever wrote, so I think he has a soft spot for it. Of course, it also crops up in Tanz der Vampire! Ha, if it's already in Tanz, they REALLY could remove it from Bat. (Or if songs can be in both, add Total Eclipse to Bat!) ’Objects in the Rear View Mirror...’ is in both shows, in full! I really can’t! It was long ago, and it was far away, oh god it seems so very far....

Bit unlikely in a show by Jim Steinman I don’t know why, but I always assumed it was written by JS and not someone else. At least it clears up the mystery as to why it wasn’t in the show. Nah, it’s a Steinman copy by Diane Warren, along with “I’d Lie for You (And That’s The Truth)”. As a Steinman fan I shouldn’t like them, as she totally ripped off his style... but I secretly do

I’m not a big fan of the Act 2 opener myself. Though I wish they had included Not A Dry Eye In The House in the show. Bit unlikely in a show by Jim Steinman

Please change that to “middle-aged people”, I am not a woman I'm very sorry. I'm also not middle-aged and I hyperventilate, so maybe that should just be "people". I can't edit it any more but everyone knows the allure of Rob Fowler is not limited to just women or people of a certain age Yes, it’s foolish to try to limit the range of people who find Rob Fowler attractive

And why did Falco jump in the pool?? Because he could?? Falco jumps in the pool so that when he comes out with less clothes on and dripping wet, hundreds of middle-aged women will hyperventilate Please change that to “middle-aged people”, I am not a woman

I enjoyed this much more than the original production. I didn't get a programme so I don't know names - but I thought the girl playing Mary had a wonderful voice. Also thought the boy playing Thomas was a great actor. However all were excellent. Very glad I saw it. Agree entirely

I haven’t really liked a musical here Since the days of Hello Dolly And Crazy For You They were amazing This is awful Truly truly dreadful I am talking Below nursery school level I don’t like the atmosphere of the Open Air Or the people who attend There are huge queues And I don’t understand the concept To pay £65 to sit outside On hard garden seating With concrete flooring I didn’t even make it to the interval People who attend seem to have Rock bottom standards And treat it like an amazing event of sophistication Just because it’s outside For me the whole experience stinks of the crappy I tell you what Glyndebourne It ain’t Again £50-£65 Pay £75 and see Tina Woohoo! Parsnip hates it! I’m gonna love it

I saw the first preview of the original production, so knowing that was 18 years ago makes me feel old! Interesting that “It Will Never End” is back in the show, as that was cut very early in previews in the West End, and part of it can now be heard in Love Never Dies. Funny that he took one song out of TBG to go into LND, and put a bit of LND back into TBG! I also wish I had a recording of “The Boys in the Photograph” as it bugs me that there’s an ALW tune I don’t have (I’ve got pretty much every tune he’s every released!). Does anyone know if it’s on the 2006 Hungarian cast recording?
I heard "It Will Never End" for the first time at the Union Theatre production. It was a number that really stuck with me. Along with the new songs "Born In Belfast" and "The Boys in The Photograph" which I also enjoyed.
No “Born in Belfast” in this production, and I can’t hear “It Will Never End” without thinking of Coney Island! Do really want a recording of “The Boys In The Photograph” though.
