I got blocked by the official twitter account of 1980s pop act Shalamar for mentioning that they were famous in the 1980s. Which seems an odd approach for the revived act (featuring one official member) to take when developing a fan base. Loved and still love Shalamar!

I'm wondering if those of you that 'do' social media know more or can try and find out more, about casting news. All I've found is that it's "star casting", which really worries me - see above.
Anyhoo thanking you muchly in advance for your help!

Very sorry to hear, Sue. (I remember you had organised sitters for her when you came up for Sunset Boulevard. ) Waitrose has just sent me their Christmas ad... Much better than John Lewis! Thanks caiaphas and skills my friend, good memory!

My husband who doesn't post on this forum has asked me to complain to you about the person who sat next to him during King Lear. I think in some way he imagines you all have some official ability to shame and chastise that person. ;-) I like that idea. Our own investigation and enforcement squad. "The Theatreboard Etiquette Adjustment Team. Because you suck." Or... Theatreboard Investigation Team Theatreboard Wanting Adjustment Team

Thanks so much, Baemax. She was just the best! So(😢) moving on...
Saw the M&S advert yesterday with The Special One, Janet McTeer...fabulous! Her sultriness and naughtiness has been captured perfectly and I love the twist in this traditional story.

I've read some nonsense on this board today, but Buster is NOT an ugly dog. All dogs are beautiful! From someone who lost their most darling, funny, intelligent, playful, intuitive and loved dog just a few months ago, I agree totally Baemax. Oh and for those interested, my 'Buster' was a black and white Collie/Springer cross called Tia. A rescue dog. She was our everything and is desperately missed.

Ooh what a hoo-ha! I've just had a full-on stand up argument with a dreadful couple at Little Shop of Horrors! So the show starts and the female starts immediately singing. Very. Very. Loudly. She's across the aisle and a row in front and it's still very audible above the cast and we are way down the front of the stalls so it's quite loud. Three songs in and she's still at it. I decide I'm nipping this in the bud right now so I lean forward out of my seat and do a loud "shhhhhhhhhh.... thank you!". She is silenced. The show continues. She goes to the toilet, the male then goes to the toilet. Drinks are being drunk. Interval: uneventful..I'm with five pals and we're stood in the aisle chatting about alsorts, including bad backs, the original Come Dancing with Peggy Spencer and her dance team from Penge, and Hedy Lamarr's contribution to modern mobile communications (all male friends... you get the picture). The only mention of the singer was one of my group saying thanks for stopping the singing. Second half passes with two more toilet visits (them not us) and finally it's curtain down. So then we're in that little gap while you're waiting for the crowd to clear so you can make progress to the exit and the female turns round and starts ranting that I'm not better than anyone else and how dare I talk to her like that. So I say I dont want to hear her singing and the male says scornfully "you don't want to hear people singing?" Then she starts going on about how I was making fun of her hair! WTF? I never mentioned her hair! I say this and she says "you did, you did! I heard you making fun of my hair, you're no better than me!". My pal wades in "he never mentioned your hair, I've been stood here all the time" and her BF says "he must have, should wouldn't lie about it would she?". The BF is quite small and weasly and I'm 6'3 and built like a barn door do I just smiled nicely and said "she's mistaken". She has a final go about how im no better than her and they move off. I mean like WTF? What are people like? It was only when she mentioned her hair that I actually looked at her hair and yeah it was pretty hideous. But that's not the point, I'm innocent! Bet you now wish you HAD told her exactly how hideous her hair was!

On the second occasion I would have confiscated it - put it in my bag, walked out of the theatre with it and put it in the nearest bin. Let her get home in one shoe! Ooo yes, much better!

The children in front of me at Mary Poppins yesterday were wearing glow stick bracelets. Was like they had a phone on all show. So distracting! Off with their hands, I say.

You Must Love Me from Evita.
My (long suffering) partner and I were front row at the Dominion in 2014 and my tears were coming down like a waterfall when Madelena Alberto sung this. My bottom lip was wobbling so much that I got jaw and throat ache holding it all in and I dare say I was probably pulling a bit of a gurn with all the effort.
So not only did Madalena give a 5* performance of Evita but she was able to carry on whilst I sat there right in front of her, a watery and semi-convulsing mess. I don't know about her but I was exhausted when the curtain fell!
Oh and Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins, just as a few of you have listed. It had a similar (but slightly less messy) effect on me when I saw this fantastic show at Bristol and Birmingham late 2015/early 2016.

Problem is, whoever signs it will be irrelevant as you won't be able to read it due to the watery smudging mixed with mascara and eye liner and maybe a little bit of powder too...of the eyeshadow kind of course 🙄 !!

I loved the last Evita with Madelena Alberto, I loved the film with Madge and I love all cast recordings. I didn't love Marti Pellow one jot but anyone here that knows me knows that!
I'll be watching cast news with interest.

Maybe he's taking acting lessons. There won't be enough of them to make a difference before the run ends. I'm surprised they didn't save some money and stick a broom handle on the stage while he's been off. Same effect. Are we talking about Marti Pellow again?!!

For me, the most overrated shows I've seen are Cats, Les Mis, Cats, The Bodyguard and Cats.

I recommended Alex Hall's show on the old board so it's good to hear there's at least one other listener out there! In comparison to EP, yes you do lose the giggles and occasional 'me me me' references but with Alex you gain disorganisation (with loading tracks) and an obsession with Liz Callaway! However it's a firm favourite on my iplayer list along with EP and Peter Corry's 30 minute 'Show Tunes' programme on Radio Ulster.
I'm only aware of these three on the iplayer but like tbfl, I'm also curious to know about any other good shows out there, radio or tinterweb.
