Given the 5* reviews, I'm very pleased to have tickets for 'Mother Goose Cracks One Out' at Above the Stag in Vauxhall next Friday. I am expecting lots of seasonal smut and festive filth!

Saw it last night and it is indeed excellent. I won't spoil the surprise, but it is very well done. For me, it's the best play I've seen at The Minerva this season. Good luck in getting a ticket though, it's completely sold out. I kept checking back and managed to get a couple of returns.

I was there last night, she went down a storm! Singing was great, the accent drifted a bit, but hopefully that will settle down. I also got to meet the real Jamie Campbell and his mum in the bar beforehand, chatted to Margaret for ages, she is absolutely lovely.

Cock in Chichester on Friday There's no need to brag about it. I shall be witnessing the bear baiting fest that is Jeremy Kyle later! I've had to speak to the box office a couple of times to move tickets etc. and I do find myself struggling not to snigger. I put it down to being brought up on a diet of 'Carry On' films and Mrs Slocombe's pussy....

Been messing around with the DMT+ site all morning trying to get the tickets, for some reason I couldn't see any...eventually phoned them and they should have sent me a link to the priority booking and it will only work if I use that link...doh! However, the lovely lady on the phone sorted me row D tickets for 9th Feb...I am very very happy :-)

A first for me at Women in Power at NST City Southampton last night (apart from seeing a lady dressed as a man doing a very realistic poo on the stage!)...The stage manager came out and stopped the show and asked the actors to leave the stage while a "situation" was dealt with. FOH then told a man in the audience to leave, from what I can gather he was being very loud and disruptive, they got a round of applause when he left, but he did no go quietly. The actors then restarted their scene and handled it very well, inserting a joke about deja vous. I'm not sure exactly what his problem was, but clearly he was ruining the show for the audience around him.

Put me in the 'really enjoyed it' camp. But then I enjoy most things I see!

Seeing this tonight, followed by the 'late night cabaret' with the cast in the Minerva bar afterwards. Reading the mixed reviews, I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure after a few gins and a bit of a singalong in the bar, I will think it's marvellous!

It is very Chichester! The set and lighting are gorgeous, and Dame Penelope is fantastic, she really does steal every scene she is in. All the actors are great, I would say the only weak link is the grand daughter, Laurel. She comes across as a little bit wooden, but maybe she will become more comfortable in the role as the run progresses. It's an interesting story, which in the 3rd act, comes to a satisfactory conclusion. We got £10 side tickets, but didn't miss anything as full use is made of the thrust stage. For less than the cost of a cinema ticket, it was a great night out. Worth it for Dame Pen alone.

Yes, I enjoyed a lot, I thought the Random play was really well acted by just the one actress, and you could sense the devastation felt by the family. The Generations play did bring a tear to my eye at the end, when the grandparents were looking around at the empty kitchen. All in all, very unexpected for Chichester, but then I guess that's what the Minerva is there for, to show different things while the main house pays the bills. Good stuff.

I was at the first preview too - agree with everything meister said...the only saving graces were Tracy Ann Oberman, who steals every scene she is in, plus it was a gorgeous evening, so got to sit outside and drink Pimms in the sun before going in. However, it did seem a very odd choice to open the season with, I do hope it gets better.

Friends of CFT can book through the CFT website, I've just had a quick look and got straight through to the seating plan to choose seats. Do you know what the ticket limit is on CFT? Might be an option to join! Just had a look - maximum of 10, no queue and I went straight through to 'select your own seats'

Bought tickets, was really looking forward to it as I loved the film back in the day. Got the mail about the cancellation...was very disappointed (I know nothing about the history of the allegations against whoever, and didn't care - I was just wanting to watch a play which I understand was very much of it's time, and being brought up on a rough council estate in the 80s gave the story added meaning to me), so bought the film and re-watched that instead and liked it a lot. When I finished watching the film, I then checked my mail and saw the note about changing their mind and the play was back on! I won't be rebooking, been messed about too much, and seeing the film again was enough. I feel sorry for the actors and other people involved that have also been messed about.

Totally agree with all the positive comments on this one...absolutely loved it, I was up and teary eyed with the rest of them.
Never been to the Old Vic before and one thing I did notice is that this place smells nasty! Like pubs used to just after the smoking ban. I wonder if it is a result of the 'effect' they use which ends up getting the carpets a bit damp. If that's the case, the place is going to absolutely honk come January, they should stock up on febreeze now...

Anyway, the most exciting part of the evening was afterwards when we entered the post-'Quiz' quiz in the Minerva saloon hosted by Daniel Evans and Rachel Tackley. There were about 10-12 teams I suppose and the questions were quite History of CFT-heavy but we only went and bloody won the thing!! We were there too! We had been to see the Wipers Times in the main theatre, then popped over for a drink in the Minvera afterwards and they asked us if we wanted to join the theatre quiz, so we did. Well done on winning, we were very impressed with your knowledge, we thought we were doing well after the first round, but it went rapidly downhill from there, we weren't last, but pretty near it I think! I've booked a theatre tour to try and improve my history knowledge. Isn't Daniel just lovely? And so Welsh! He's done an amazing job in his first season at CFT, can't wait to see what he comes up with next year. Anyway, I really didn't fancy Quiz the play, but from the comments here and the reviews, it sounds everso good, so we're seeing it tonight.

At the Norman Conquests at Chichester on Saturday, there was an old girl in front of me that clearly thought she was watching something on the telly in her own front room. Lots of comments to the actors like 'Calm down, calm down', or 'Look out, she'll catch you', and 'ooh that'll serve her right' etc etc. And what is it about audiences at Chichester finding the most bizarre things hilarious? Someone loudly stirring a cup of tea on stage made several people laugh like drains. I wanted to call out (in my best Blanche Hunt voice) "You should try Book of Mormon - you'll die!"

Well, I must admit, I've not really seen much Shakespeare, so don't have a lot to compare it to. I find it really hard going in general, the plots to me are very confusing (but then I struggled to follow Mama Mia! ;-), so I read the synopsis of the play beforehand so I could follow what was going on, and I'm glad I did, otherwise I would have got completely lost. However, I wanted to see this one cos of the cast and being in the Minvera meant it would be very intimate. I wasn't disappointed, I really enjoyed it. The acting is superb, and my favourite was Sinead Cusack as Kent, I thought she was great. All 3 daughters are also very good. Sir Ian, of course, what can you say? Marvelous! One thing that did grate with me slightly though, is the way modern clothes and technology is used in a play where the plot and language is obviously over 400 years old. But then, different interpretations of Shakespeare is just what happens. It is a long one though, we got out at 11pm, so those getting a train had better get a wriggle on!

Saw it last night..Jonny B is almost naked...I didn't know where to look... Almost? AL-MOST? If the pants don't come off I shall be writing a strongly worded letter to Sir Ian. I would have expected him of all people to have insisted, nay DEMANDED, that Jonny B take the lot off. That's my whole reason for schlepping off to the middle of nowhere to see yet another King Lear. I am outraged. OUT. RAGED. Well it is still in previews, they may make the artistic decision to remove the pants to big up his part....

I've entered the competition, fingers crossed! Never been on a cruise before (unless you count a drunken party booze cruise to France in my teens where I ended up being sick in a bin while wearing a Tina Turner wig), so I would go with an open mind. You could get your big break, at the Aldwych next year. What are you like in heels? Simply the best! (I'll get me coat...)

Saw it Saturday, perfect weather, no issues with the show, just as good as last year, absolutely loved it, Tyrone is amazing. Blood and glitter all over the shop. I love Regents Park Theatre, taking a picnic and lashings of prosecco and just having a grand old time. I was talking to some American tourists who hadn't been there before and didn't know what to expect - they were suitably impressed. Good tips from Phantom above, we were lucky with the weather, but if you're not, then be prepared. An emergency poncho might not be very fetching, but does come in handy if it rains.
