I am looking very much forward to it. Just rewatched the Donmar version from the late 90s that was broadcast (for me, my favourite version so far) but this could be so special. Is that available on dvd? Sadly not, although I wish it were as my copy is on video from when I recorded it at the time of the broadcast, and is not in the best condition!!

Hamilton tomorrow night, fromt row stalls: literally just bagged 2 tickets. So taking along a Hamilton virgin....it’s always both exciting and a tad nerve-wracking taking someone to see something you love in case they hate it!

I keep changing the 5th slightly, and both times I did the Encore Top 5 the 5th place was different. (Climb Every Mountain).
But currently:
5. “Wishing you were somehow here again"
4. "Sunday"
3. "Somewhere"
2. "Satisfied"
1. "Back to Before"

Witches of Eastwick: so many great songs, not least Dirty Laundry and Loose Ends.
A little night music(National):I never tire of this recording
Light in the Piazza: loved it in NY, loved the Leicater Curve production and love the original cast recording. And I love watching the PBS broadcast from time to time
Ragtime (OBC): still one of my favourite pieces of musical theatre. And I enjoy watching the UK concert version that was aired all those years ago

Generally enjoying it to a point.....apart from the heat at night when trying to sleep.
I’ve given up worring about excess drippage when I am out and about, given everyone else seems to be the same: united in our claggyness! But I do like this temperature when I don’t have to be doing things

Finally caught up as well. Wrong winner IMHO. It should have been our very own Bo. Food designed to please rather than just show off. Yes, I know it is a competition but at the end of the day food is there to bring pleasure to others. And a cake - whilst it is a very good thing - is just not a dessert. It is a cake. Even if it is a fancy cake with mango in it. There was only one proper pudding in the final. I appreciate that the edit very much does direct how certain contestants are perceived and she may be very different in real life. But I found Pippa to be absolutely insufferably smug. Right from the first episode. Never once warmed to her. Final should have been Bo v Katie - warm-hearted and generous spirited food. (Am I alone in thinking that Cyrus looks like Miles Jupp's younger brother?) Thank you 😀😀Oh I was happy with the outcome -was actually glad to be there on a day out! And I am so fond of both Pippa and Dipa. Massively so.

Just caught up with all the episodes after my hols. Where's my invite! My god that sticky pudding looked amazing! Well done! Bet it's was a great experience! Not sure if you can answer this but how long was it filmed over? Oh the very best experience, filmed over a couple of months. Loved every moment!

Well done Philip. That was a great final and thought the judges had a hard decision as everyone cooked so well. I'd have picked you however as you cook my kind of food. Hope there will be another series next year as it's a great concept and the judges work so well together plus Claudia as the compare was great casting. She is very funny without trying to steal the show. Thank you 😀😀 Oh the dynamic between the judges and Claudia was stunning.

Really well done Philip - to have made the final was fantastic and I agree, it was a very close run thing. I loved the way you all supported and encouraged each other even when in the middle of cooking! As for your amazing food, it's my kind of food! If only I could cook... Thank you so much xx

I dare say many of us on here are very proud of you! You were just amazing, along with your mates, and I could easily have gorged on every single dish you all prepared... Now. It’s official. “Bo is at his happiest when he’s cooking for a crowd.” [Berry, Mary. BBHC BBC 14/6/18] Well, hello, Bo! Just name the date and we’ll all be round. And if Dan is free too, he’ll make some grown men very, very happy indeed... (Pippa only went and did butter bean whip!!! 😂 😂) The butter bean whip, in the bucket, was to die for. Sadly my rendition of “one day”, from Bessie Bunter!: the musical (exclamation mark optional), with face stuffed with my surplus puddings was cut. Actually a musical theatre-themed dinner party is right up my street.....

Well, I didn't see that coming, Well done Pipa but Philip, you so good and I thought you deserved to win. I'm sure you are too much of a gentleman to agree with me, but you are a superlative cook. Oh you are too kind. Was so chuffed for Pippa, which was well deserved. And for me it was amazing to cook with two very wonderful people in the final. Love them both!

Aspects is still one of my favourite ALW musicals and holds a very key place in my heart. Lost count of how many times I saw it, incl. the final performance. Oh I loved that original London production and the set: loved the back of the set splitting to reveal the mountains etc...
I loved the changes over that run, especially turning the solo “There is more to love” into a duet (between Rose and Guilietta via letter). It’s a great song anyway as a solo but as a duet it was ravishing. That song, Hand me the wine and the dice; Anything but Lonely...oh I loved those particularly
And Sarah Brightman...loved her; my favourite Rose

I will twist my own arm to see them.....so easily done. Front row maybe: where I occasionally get dripped on with sweat and spit when singers and actors are in full throat....so i am up for this! .....And then an ice cream or something cool to lick in the interval. Best not take a picnic to this one though: you don’t want one of them jabbing their groins into your tortellini! 😂 There’s not a day goes by that I don’t think of a Victoria Wood line... And at least they won’t say womb! Oh for the days when a box of Quality Street cost two pounds. But best pack my duffle coat just in case!

Kinky Boots tomorrow eve and then on Thursday afternoon it’s my Norma Desmond-like return to the wonderful Encore Radio to chat about my love of musicals, my love of cooking & chatting about Britain’s Best Home Cook.
I do love a Kinky Boots visit.

That was marvellous on so many levels. Loved every moment of it and cannot wait for next week’s episode.
Oh I wish I knew back when I was younger that a dubious book, mother’s cosy cottage and a jar of vaseline was the trick to seduction........

Well I just hope the day goes well and they have a great time. It does make a changed to have some positive news for a change away from the shootings, stabbbings and brexit. So very true

I look forward to seeing this when it comes near me. Legally Blonde is great fluff and total fun - and I do like Lucie Jones.
I remember seeing it in London one evening, after seeing a matinee of Priscilla - talk about camp overload by the end if the day! But then, a double-show day is always a treat.

I watched the repeat last night, gonna be a very enjoyable series. I had to have the spare burger from the BBQ for my dinner because it made me so hungry! Loving all the magnets you have on your fridge Bo! 🙂 thank you. Yes, it was great to be able to personalise our kitchens with photos and other items from home. And of course, I HAD to take a few of my musical theatre magnets!! There was a brilliant moment on the first day when Claudia, larking wonderfully around about musicals, got on her hands and knees in my kitchen and hummed “Memory” for me, complete with a wooden spoon for the whiskers (!) and some serious fringe work to get into feline mode....I wish some of that was shown, but boy did that get me fully relaxed!

Oh congratulations Bo. When the series is over, can you give us the most massive essay on what goes on!!!! I'll be rooting for you each week now! Thank you. Yes, would love to. Was certainly the most challenging thing I’ve done (apart from sit through Caprice having a bash at Maureen in Rent!) and massive fun.

I hope Bo will be making his special home made coffee and sponge finger? Or some macaroons? Let’s hope nobody chokes on one of my macaroons. Miss Berta, I am looking at you.....

I am SO excited for this. Saw it many times back in the early 80s at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre and then it was a fairly regular haunt of mine in London. It never failed to put a massive smile on my face, so here’s hoping I can introduce my hubby to its charm.

I can “forgive” a lot of bad behaviour or thoughtlessness, apart from when audience members sing along loudly during a musical or when latecomers spend an age taking off their costs, rustling through their bags for sweets, glasses and whatever else..All done while standing, nattering with their party and oblivious to anything.....And in great British tradition, I tut....but inaudibly so as not to annoy others!
Mind you, one time I needed the loo and could not wait for the interval was during the Lord of the Rings musical: I was in front row of the Dress Circle, and literally could not hold on! I tried, but no! And I tripped over nearly everyone as I scrambled out to the loo: so I sat out the rest of that Act at the very back, too scared to embarrass myself and annoy others further! Not deliberately bad behaviour on my part, but I was SO annoyed with myself.
