I've just passed a scaffolding lorry with the words "Erection Specialists" emblazoned down the side. Unfortunate choice of a phrase there! Oh I don't know,,,,,

Well the day has started very well : walking to work this morning and I noticed that Fortnum and Mason have opened a shop in the Royal Exchange ( City ) which is about 5 minutes from my office, one happy Christmas shopping bunny here !
Be rude not to pop along there lunchtime I feel....

This will be the only show In the season Which will sell out Despite the star casts For all the others So far 1 to 4 Have been papering On a regular basis It tells your clearly What people really want to see And it ain’t Pinter What I particularly relish Is the types of fans Who will rush to book Just like the Hamlet Cumberbatch And they won’t actually understand or like the okay Thus serving to put them off the theatre I also doubt it will be better than the Betrayal With KST and Ben Miles Or the Dervla Kirwan one Speaking personally I loved the KST production.

Haven't seen it but judging by the reviews in particular The Guardian a transfer wouldn't be a huge surprise-perhaps it could replace Rip It Up once that, hopefully, closes early !

Well I still think we are long overdue a WE Rattigan Theatre Given that most theatres have a rat problem anyway... sort of covered, perhaps. Shall I get your coat or have you already got it ?

Having a bit of a problem trying to convince Mr Tibs that the price tag on my new trousers is, in fact, in Polish Zlotys, not pounds sterling. Current rate £0.20:1 Zloty - ie. £50 looks like £245.71. Mental note to self, worth a try....

OMG how bad is that trailer and wasn't Louis Smith a gymnast rather than a performer.... ?
I can think of a fair few plays that could be going into the Garrick instead.

Love love loved it ! One of the best things I've seen on TV for ages and what a performance from Jodie Comer-she should win a hat full of awards for her portrayal
Roll on season 2

I hope you enjoy it. I won't get to see it unfortunately unless it has another life elsewhere, which is unlikely: how often do Ibsen plays transfer to the West End?. Last was 2014 ? Almeida “Ghosts” to Trafalgar Studios. It went to New York too. Before that 2005? Almeida “Hedda Gabler” to Duke of York. (I’m only listing these to give you hope). and the stunning A Doll's House starring Hattie Morahan at the Young Vic and then the Duke of Yorks.

Some of us are still going to see this - please put spoilers behind spoiler tags! And can we pull back on making moral judgements about people being intrigued and excited to see a piece of theatre, by a well-known and popular playwright, which has divided opinion? It is a cardinal sin to condemn something without seeing it - we all may be just as outraged as you, but we do have to see it first before we reach that conclusion. We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t get excited by theatre. Very well said in a reasonable and considerate manner.

A few seemed unaware of Belgium's colonial record too, which really surprised me, but might go some way to explain why many now seem to regard Brussels as the model of human perfection (overheard on the tube afterwards, two women expressing the dark thought that maybe McDonagh was a 'Leaver') I'm not surprised about that to be honest. Belgium today still ignores it or pretends it didn't really happen so it's no surprise people outside of the country are seemingly unaware too. EDIT: In addition, there are probably a huge number of British people who are unaware or wilfully ignorant of Britain's pretty shonky colonial record too so, again, no surprise that they don't know anything about Belgium. Makes you wonder what people thought Billy Joel's reference to " Belgians in the Congo " on We Didn't Start the Fire referred to ?....

Great to see the restored Tunes of Glory tonight. We may have lowed the average age of the audience a bit. I hadn’t heard of it before seeing it in the festival brochure and being intrigued by the prospect of Alec Guinness and John Mills playing against type. Can certainly see why it hasn’t become a staple of mid-week afternoon TV - it’s very much about the impact of World War II on the men who fought it. It really is an excellent film, IMHO John Mills finest hour.
