My main issue was that I have not long ago finished watching Netflix’s Sex Education, so it took me a while to get the image of Gillian Anderson and a cucumber out of my head when she first came on stage. We all struggle with that. Sometimes daily. Yes Emi we do !!! x

Who cares about awards? Of course when a film, or actor, or musical or whatever I love gets one, I'm happy, but if not, oh well. At least *I* enjoyed it. What I always say, there aren't good or bad films. There are only two kind of films: the ones I like, and the ones I don't. Same goes for music, actors, shows, etc. Well said couldn't agree more .

Can Matthew Broderick still act? He always has come aross wooden and boring on film and in recordings I've seen of him. Er, yes he can IMHO

That could work really well If it wasn't for the "hand of god" as firefingers points out! though having the Panto and summer musical means that the theatre is dark for periods Not long at all - it stages so many one-off shows that it really isn't an issue being dark to allow get in / out. I’m sure I remember reading that it has a 600+ capacity balcony still in existence but sectioned off and unused. Those photos are amazing. I didn't realise how intact the space was. They must bring them back one day. Thanks for the link. Trafalgar Studios used to be one theatre with two levels. I remember they "temporarily" made it into two stages years ago When they split them, the intention was permanent. It's been altered since, to remove the central entrance and then put it back, and to add extra rows. I honestly don't think it works that well as a space and is certainly uncomfortable. Maybe if they go to the next phase and go fully "in the round" it may improve a bit. Agree 100% monkey I for one liked it much better when it was the Whitehall Theatre and dearly miss it. One highlight from there for me was seeing Cooking with Elvis.

A comedy tale from Monday night, I was on a date (that’s not the comedy...well maybe) And was telling the guy I was with for some reason a tale of a male friend who was behaving like a bit of a dick. “Wait is this x” “Yes!” “I know him!” (Of course because Cardiff is that small a town) “That play I’m in, we were talking about, he’s in it” “Of course he is!” “I punch him at the end” “I love you” (I didn’t say the last part but fictional punching of someone annoying me was bonus points for sure) So he gets a second date then ?

Saw this yesterday at the matinee performance.
It seemed to have everything in it bar the kitchen sink ! I enjoyed it and there were a few laugh out loud moments, praise to Jim Broadbent and the set design both excellent. Certainly not one of Mr M's best plays but worth catching to make up your own mind.
