Sia's Satisfied is online floating about. Love her so much, and her vocals are nuts ( and Latifah's verse is great)

You know what I wouldn't be half surprised if Laura Emmitt ends up in that cast. Ha! I called it (at least hoping it's her)

No wish to argue, but I'm really not in the habit of making things up and rarely hallucinate, so maybe some comments have been deleted! Glad the mood is now supportive as I genuinely don't think she anything to be sorry about here. I am in no way saying you're making things up- not at all. All Im saying is she's blowing it out of proportions to gain sympathies on twitter- as she does periodically. Perhaps there were comments that are now deleted.

I saw no comments directed at her or the cover (other than it being lifeless lol), only her fans commenting "omg i hope you play Eliza/ you should be cast in ldn Hamilton" and people correcting them (quite politely) saying its not a role Carrie should play as it's written for POC. Nothing aimed at her covering the song...
She just loves the attention she's getting from these kind of twitter rants- look at the dozens of tweets shes favorited since- all praising her to the high heavens.

I read at the monkey that day seats are usually for roll A at stalls and it doesn't seems a good place, I rate them green? Everyone loves those seats? For a minute there I had thought I said that ><

Thanks guys, I read at the monkey that day seats are usually for roll A at stalls and it doesn't seems a good place, but thanks for the tips and I guess I will try the queue for the day seats instead of buying the ticket already. Ahh dude the front row for Wicked is great, especially if you're familiar with the show already, but even if not. I'm short and it was still fantastic view- and you're so close to the actors in some scenes. It's great

viserys Thank you so so much for such an extensive post- this is great! I didn't even know those were happening, let alone that they were a French thing! Am looking into all of them, I see none do shows over Mon-Tues-Wed (which is strange- but I guess French custom) So I'll see which I can book- but am definetly looking forward to trying at least one out- the trailers are indeed really catchy. I'm leaning towards Le Rouge E Le Noir- but I'll let you know what I end up seeing! Again- thanks so so much- it's so informative! And thank you bjorne - It looks beautiful, and my grandparents have been to see it on my their honeymoon and enjoyed it too, but ticket price is so high though.. I don't know- if I'll get the refund for Phantom before my flight I'll think about it again For anyone interested- on Phantom's Facebook page some people have been getting Emails regarding their tickets that all booking between first preview and mid May of next year will be refunded- So I guess it's going to take at least that long

There are plenty of original French musicals you could see in Paris - I'll be seeing four musicals in December and none of them would have been Phantom. I can talk a bit more about them if you are looking for suggestions, but I rather ask before I write a lot and you two are among those people who hate the French style... I'd definitely avoid the Moulin Rouge and similar tourist traps... I'd love to hear it- I'm not sure I know what the French style is, and wether I'd hate it or not- but I am looking now through the individual theatres. So far (through here) I've found Oliver Twist which looks interesting. But there are so many theatres in Paris- I didn't realise how many (I'm now looking through Google Maps)!- so I'd love to hear what you've found!

Never been but I intend to do it some time... The sewers! In the steps of Jean Valjean! There are all the usuals to do- Eiffel Tower, Bateaux Mouches, Louvre, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur- but don't forget the Musee d'Orsay. For something a bit different too add Musee Rodin and the fascinating Musee Carnavalet, which is a stunning little museum of the city. Oh, and do visit the cemeteries- Pere Lachaise and Montmartre! (They are chock full of famous graves- artists, composers, performers... The latter has a beautiful one of Nijinksky.) Yes! A les Mis inspired walk tour could be fun- I see there are som who drew routes on Google Maps- will look! And thanks- will start writing an itenerary for the touristy stuff too- can't miss those. Anyone been to a cinema in Paris that they can reccomend- like an authentic cinema, does that makes sense? ha Anyway thanks for the suggestions everyone- if anyone has anything else- they are so wecome!!

I would check some other Paris theatres, maybe they have some interesting classics or musical theatre performances. And some nice touristy stuff as Montmartre walks, getting up on the Notre Dame (it kills the legs completely but feels wonderfully), riverboat trip, Eiffel Tower (booking in advance) and so on. Paris is almost as beautiful as London so it is definitely worth walking it through, at least the centre parts. And Opera tour is a must! I keep checking the event websites- there is no musical/ play that I can find, or even a concert of someone I know (or even don't know- that isn't outragesly priced) Maybe there are plays but it's all in french I can't seem to understand anything And thank you so much for the Moulin Rouge comment- such a shame though, I'm really looking for some kind of theatre experince to replace Phantom. bummer. Will do a tour of the opera! Thank you so much for the other advice too- will do! The catacombs are great to explore, the centre Pompidou is fun if you like a bit of modern art. For food I'd rarely stray away from the Latin quarter, so much down every little side street. And Shakespeare and Company bookshop is a must! Lived just outside the city for a while and I miss it so much, have a wonderful trip! I hear there are crazy lines for the Catacombs but that they're a really unique exprience. and thank you so much! A couple of alternatives. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapin_AgileCheck its still open. Went a decade or so ago. The antithesis of tourist Paris but close to Montmartre. Basically think of it as a folk club, with “warm beer and lousy service”. Once we relaxed we had a great time. Second all the suggestions for the classic Brassieres but they can be expensive. A cheaper alternative is www.bouillon-chartier.com/en/It’s at the Metro Rue Monmartre so it’s not that close to anything. But the room is wonderful, the queue to get in reasonable, the waiters outrageous, with edible (rather than outstanding) French food and the price is right. Have been 5 times over 37 years! I actually have quite a large budget now with the cancelled (hopefully quickly refunded errr) tickets, for food and activities. So am defenitly looking for the -outstanding food- lol but thank you- I've written them down too!

Delayed until further notice- opening night cancelled... The lighting director posted on his Facebook that he doesn't think it will open this year.. Anyway- My flight and hotel are non refundable, so any suggestions for what to do in Paris now that all my nights are free- are VERY welcome!!! Anyone been to the Moulin Rouge? is it worth the very high priced ticket? I'm in the same position, but my ticket is not until 15 November, so maybe there's still hope? i have a non-refundable Eurostar ticket, hotel booking and international flight from Paris to Washington. I won't be back to Paris (from Australia) for a while after this trip, so rebooking for a later date once they get up and running is not an option. Maybe you could see something at the real Opera Garnier? That's something I'm considering if my date gets cancelled. I am seeing an opera there- very excited, but it was already planned alongside Phantom.

If you are arriving at Gare du Nord don't look around and look as if you don't know what you are doing. Try to work out your direction before you arrive or at least leave the station purposefully. The pick pockets and the con men are waiting for you! They offer to help you buy metro tickets and also show you to taxis which cost over the odds. I know this isn't theatre advice but it would be grim to arrive and find yourself fleeced before you get going. Keep wallet and/or handbag well under control. Paris is the only European city that I have had attempted robbery in. Having said all that, enjoy yourself. Paris is wonderful. Thank you for this. I'm actually staying in an AirBnb quite close to Gare de Nord, and only after booking have I realised it's not the best location. The reviews were all very good and haven't mentioned that the area is bad though, on the contrary- so hopefully it'll be fine.

How big was this fire? I wonder if any of the sets were damaged. I imagine it's a large enough theatre so that it's very possible that the entire auditorium is actually not affected by it but another section would require significant repair. This was posted n BWW- link to FB pic it looks bad, and if you go on the guy's FB page (he seems to own the lighting company I think) he responds to some people saying he doesn't think it will go up this year/ at least some weeks of repair/ that the chandelier is fine but pretty much everything ese is bust etc.. Very sad.. What a terrible shame. Doesn't your travel insurance cover this? I haven't actually activated it yet- was planinng to today. But a brief reading of it makes me believe that it won't cover it. Talk about bad luck...

Hi guys, So I've booked a (first!) trip to Paris Oct 4-9 centering aroud the Phantom production that was due to open there... Well it's cancelled now- and my days and evenings are pretty much event free. I've booked a ticket for an Opera at the Garnier, but nothing else.
So if anyone is a native, or has been to Paris before and has cool tips- I'd love to hear them! Anything related to theatre/ music/ film, and food- good restaurants/cafes and such.
Also- has anyone been to the Moulin Rouge before? Is it worth the very high ticket price?
Thanks so much!
Mods- please move or delete if this isn't the place for this, and sorry:)

I feel there is still that *fine* line between engaging with your audience who reach out to you, and seeking out negativity about you (in which you are not tagged) and bullying those people (into making their account private).

Her memoir is really something- one of my favorite reads (quite a bit of dirt too if you're into that- especially on a certain lord..)
But THESE! are gold!
(I mean watch it all but I highlighted on part that's just iconic- hammammabilly)
and this one- the annual Gypsy revival- gold..

Also I know there such a thing as an "artist's exit" at concerts, even after talk shows and tv appearences. There are "fan spaces" on sets for tv shows and movies where fans can watch the filming and the actors usually do come at breaks and sign- and my god if you look up some of those videos on Youtube- the amount of shaming and cussing and cursing the performer when it doesn't go your way is mind blowing. There alot of Papparazzis and signature sellers there- who do most of these disgusting things, but I mean it's as if the performers are animals- they flat out call them "bitches" and other much worse curse words for appologizing and getting into their car when they can't/ don't want to sign. they tug and pull they film and shout at them, they ask very personal questions.
Disgusting human behaviour towards those who society puts on a pedestal is not new- and it is just that- disgusting. But sadly it seems it's a part of gaining popularity. Theatre actors have more anonimity- especially those who are not on social media, so it must be a foreign thing to them that rarely happens (and from what I've seen and heard, stage dooring when there isn't a celebrity in the cast is a pleasent experience for the most part, for both parties)

What actors are tweeting? Because from what I've seen it's literally only Carrie Fletcher CONSTANTLY going on about it and and causing sh*tstorms on Twitter (literally 3 seperate time this week alone) and other actors jump in her defense (Chitty actors/ Nadim Naaman etc) but it's always in reply (direct or not) to something she initiated.
If her fans are that crazy- just stop stage dooring. She claims it's because she's a Youtuber so she has it worse than everyone else and that no one suffers from it as much- that's the reason she seems to talk about it more than any other performer. Are you meaning to tell me that when Dan Radcliff/ Tom Hiddelston/ Benedict Cumberbatch/ Sheridan Smith/ David Tennant/ Cathrine Tate, etc etc etc (litteraly huundreds of other well known performers)even Kerry Ellis/ Rachel Tucker and those Wicked bunch- don't have crazy stage door experiences? that people dont tweet them they are dissapointed when they don't exit through? I've never seen ONE of those SHAME the (truthfully- rude- but what can you do) audience member for it and go on tangent after tangent after tangent.
If her fans are THAT crazy- maybe something in her manner/ videos/ personality encourages that kind of behaviour subliminally. But girl really needs to give it a break- there are bound to be downsides to your job and you have to have some kind of grace about it I think...
I could be wrong, maybe there are others who make public their concerns with it- but I do follow a bunch (not her suprisingly- but actors keep re-tweeting her "gospel") and have only seen it in relation to her.
(And no of course I am not even implying she has to go through stage door, or that tweeting dissapointment at actors not doing so in any way a respectable thing- but it's not that big a tragedy recieving those tweets- and obviously her tangents aren't working)
