Impossible to choose just one favourite.
Favourite rhyme/line is either "I like the isle of Manhattan, smoke on your pipe and put that in" or "While her withers wither with her"

Waiting for mine to be delivered by Amazon today (£9.99 pre order guaranteed price). Normally purchases appear in my Amazon Music but this hasn't. Anyone know how this high tech stuff works?

Saw this on Saturday and we all loved it. Star turn from AK. Imaginative staging. Witty and moving songs. I'd be very surprised if this doesn't transfer and do very well.
It almost makes me want to go and see Matilda. From a box. In a "no children" audience! 🤔🙄😀

Watched it tonight sobbing with pride at the hope it promised. Perplexed how Britain could descend from those highs to the current lows in just four years?

I really didn't notice this at all! Yes, the telegraph operator was prissy, but sure there is the world of difference between "prissy" and "camp"!
I didn't mean camp.
prissy ˈprɪsi/ adjective fussily and excessively respectable. "a middle-class family with two prissy children" synonyms: prudish, priggish, prim, prim and proper, niminy-piminy, strait-laced;
😄

I didn't notice any camp blokes in this production. The movie, on the other hand, is the campest thing I've seen since my week at Pontins in 19-I-don't-want-to-think-about-it. Me neither. The telegraph operator was quite prissy but I thought it was an acting choice, being an actor after all.

Having seen (and loved) the Donmar and Regent's Park productions I approached this with trepidation bordering on dread!
I was so wrong. It is absolutely delightful and doesn't put a foot wrong. Simply but cleverly staged and heartfelt throughout.
Very different from the other two productions but it had to be to stand out so much.
Highly recommended!!

Do you know what the problem with the Piccadilly Line was? I had a problem last night as well. Person under a train at Turnpike Lane.

This is an odd one. Hasn't quite found its tone. Pace still little uneven. But the script and all the performances are superb. No sidelining for MS last night. He is at the heart of the show. Richard Pyros is amazing (although his is the best written role). Jonjo O steals every scene, leaving no scenery un-chewed! I actually enjoyed the experience of seeing something being created and some of the real belly laughs came from the actors coping with this. I'd love to see the finished article but would not have missed this preview/rehearsal for anything!
One sad note. The ending is visually beautiful but left a nasty taste in my mouth. Wish I knew how how to do spoilers!!

This thread will be the death of this message board. It's crazy that we have nothing left to talk about but the nonsense of this rubbish production. Someone should shut this party down. I'm calling the police. (Just realizing that I might be further enabling the crazies by this post). Loved the show. Couldn't agree more about this thread! It is like Groundhog Day!

Parsley- are you a He or a She? I'm confused. One minute I thought you were female.. Are you transitioning? Parsley is a sprig. Parsley's a lion!

Too many to choose just one. These (in no particular order).
Being Alive. Another Winter in a Summer Town. Cabaret. No one is alone. The Best of Times is now.
I think this might be a much edited (and added to) post.

]So with Tony Awards and Game of Thrones on tonight, I think my PJs are desperately awaiting my return home from work for an evening of tears and suspense![/quote]
Is there any way of watching the show in the UK? I can only find clips on YouTube.

It is buzzing, which is good. BTW, don't know if others noticed, but when they tear up their boarding passes and throw them, if you look at the bits of paper, they have actually gone to the trouble of printing them as "White Star" boarding passes, rather than blank bits of paper. Impressive little detail. We had a 12 year old with us last Saturday and she collected them all up to try to piece one together!

Great FOH

I was there too, and even before the show started, I was thinking about how efficient and friendly the FOH staff were. Whoever the house manager at the Wyndham's is, they should be extremely proud of their team last night. (I don't know about where you were, littlesally, but our nearest usher assured us that the stricken gentleman was awake and responsive, so hopefully that means he's going to be okay. Fingers crossed for him!) We were in stalls F6-7. The incident was a few rows in front an at the other end. The ushers kept us updated and informed but really protected the man's privacy.

Last night at Wyndhams there was a serious medical emergency with an audience member, causing the first act to be stopped for almost an hour. The FOH staff dealt with it really well, striking a balance between caring for the patient until the paramedics arrived and keeping the rest of the audience informed. Luckily there were a few doctors in the house who assisted the FOH staff. After a short period of requesting that we remain in our seats, they decided to open the bars and toilets and explained that they would use the bells to inform us when we needed to be back in our seats. It also struck me that the audience was incredibly calm, especially those immediately close to the poor chap, with no panic or "shocked" reactions. I know we can be quick to complain about poor FOH but they deserved nothing but praise last night.

Interestingly, the ending as described above isn't specified in the script, so must have been something they put in during rehearsals. I thought it worked and the play was very thought-provoking. Please don't jump on me as this is a genuine question - I'm wondering why he (Nick Payne) chose a homosexual couple, was he trying to make a point that has eluded me? I heard a radio interview with the cast and they explained that the playwright didn't want the audience to bring any gender bias to explain how each partner acts, so had a same sex couple. I too loved the play.

How is front row? Stage height etc. Just left the matinee. I was in row B which was front row. I moved as the stage was too high plus added to that 2 Russian women behind me that picked their moments to whisper to each other (may as well have been shouting) i felt it better to have moved. I saw more of the set from Row J. I'm going to make a return visit and sit just after the break in the rows. Hope this helps Thank you. We have a 12 year old with us so she'd probably be better sitting further back.

Can only echo what has already been said. This is absolutely beautiful and I'd be surprised if it didn't end up at Chichester. Another long journey to see it but one I'd gladly make.

I always sit in those. Even better, there is no seat directly behind, so you can move your head to look past the pillar, without worrying anyone. Q3 and P5&6 in front. Hopefully combined should be a good view and average out at quite a bargain!

Also consider avoiding the school half term holidays (usually the last full week in October) as there are usually more people around and less offers on tickets.
