I too loved Mr Burns, and thought it was a prime example of why I think it's a bad idea to leave plays in the interval.

"Oh no, not another Hamlet"
"But it stars Tom Hiddleston"
"Shut up and take my money"
(Or, as the case may be, "Shut up and take my details and please let me win the ballot")

Did The Mother transfer? I saw The Father and The Truth in the West End, but I don't think I saw The Mother.

Sorry to spoil the cucumber-related fun guys, but I'm here to post my thoughts on the play ;-)
Saw this last night and was very impressed. Didn't know anything about the play and have never seen any of the actors before except for Sienna Miller. Very strong performances and the running time flew by. I personally didn't feel the nudity was inappropriate in the context of the play.
The only things I wasn't sure about were the shower (all that water, wasted) and the set as a whole, which would have suited the Young Vic itself but looked a bit odd stuck into the Apollo.

Saw this last night. Loved it. Clever and extremely funny. Also, the most diverse cast I've probably ever seen at the Orange Tree.

I have to admit, I liked this much more than I had expected to. I do like Yael Farber, mind.

Seeing The Girls tonight, wanted to catch it before it closes. An Octoroon on Thursday, and The Last Ones on Saturday.

In The Republic Of Happiness didn't have an interval. I remember a LOT of my friends being angry about that, because they wanted to leave at the interval but were denied the opportunity. Ah, you're right, of course. I remember what happened is that we had an 'unplanned' interval because something went wrong with the set. We were in the bar for about 20 minutes while they sorted it out. I should really have taken the opportunity to escape.

I really need to watch this. Studied this book at A Level and loved it. Suspect I'll be horrified at how relevant it all is. Back in 2001, I knew that MA had based the book on things that had happened or were really happening somewhere in the world, but it never seemed quite so close to home.

I don't like leaving in the interval as a matter of principle. I've only done it once, and that was for Edward Bond's Dea at the Secombe Theatre. It's not a good sign when you find yourself wanting to laugh at incest and murder.
I nearly left that Martin Crimp play, In the Republic of Happiness, in the interval, but decided to stick it out. I also wanted to leave Three Kingdoms at the Lyric Hammersmith but couldn't, really, as we were a large party there to see my friend's brother who was in the cast. (None of us liked the play it must be said!)

All the single ladies put your hands up!
As a single lady I'm fine with the walk - but I do wish it would start earlier, just because want to get out and get home to bed :-)

After seeing Addams Family the other week I've decided I want 'Death Is Just Around the Corner' played, to put the fear into all the guests.

I was in a seat over the entrance (because it was cheaper), and it was fine. I'm 5'10", though.

Sorry to have missed you Steve! Must remember to wear my Theatreboard badge more often.
Really enjoyed this, lovely show. Hardly any plot but lovely music and dancing. Jacob Maynard was excellent especially considering he only had 24 hours to rehearse. Feel so sorry for Fred Haig though.

Addendum: just opened Twitter and literally the first tweet I see is from a friend, 'Met this cutie today' - and pictures of a (in fairness, rather beautiful) goat.

Dayseated for the matinee today. Got there at 8.25 and I was 5th in line. The guy at the front had caught a 5.30 bus to London to get tickets for him and his wife as a surprise for her which I thought was really sweet. Overheard lots of theatre discussion including plenty of praise for theatremonkey!
Really enjoyed the play, more than I thought I would and more than I did Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Great acting from all involved. Surprisingly funny but definitely tragic.

Kind of bored by this. I thought there was a lot of padding. Shame as it could have been really good.

Really enjoyed this last night. Went with a friend who isn't a big musicals fan but loves the Addams Family and she thought it was great too. I have decided I want 'Death Is Just Around the Corner' played at my funeral.

Most musicals I see, I either like straight away or not at all. A definite exception was Miss Saigon - thought it was okay the first time I saw it, loved it the second time.
Groundhog Day, I came away from the performance loving it, but if you'd asked me halfway through the first half I'd have said I hated it.

2. Billy Elliot (partly for having a hard time with the cockney accent) Cockney?!

I go to the theatre by myself most of the time, for the reasons listed above. I also go to gigs on my own without batting an eyelid. I've seen Beyonce, Pink, Kelly Clarkson and Florence & The Machine by myself (please don't judge my musical taste :-P). Admittedly I think I would have enjoyed them even more in a group, but my friends don't like the same singers I like and I'm not prepared to miss out just because I have no one to go with. Anyway, once you've had a few drinks you don't care!
I do a lot of things by myself, I've been on holiday by myself a few times. The only thing I'm not really comfortable with doing alone is eating in a restaurant.

Once again I find myself genuinely baffled by all the love for a show on here. To me, this play was unfortunately everything I spend my life telling people theatre is not: three hours of people screeching at each other. I felt a bit like this watching this play! I didn't feel the love for it that so many people obviously do.

Saw this last night, absolutely loved it. First time I've seen this show and I thought it was brilliant. Stunning performances from all involved - you'd never think it was an amateur production. Running until 13 May. www.sbf.org.uk/theatreshows/the-drowsy-chaperone

Normally I hate it (except for immersive theatre, when it's expected). However, at the end of Moby Dick at the Union the cast were getting people to stand up and dance. I'd enjoyed the show so much that I was in a really great mood and was happy to join in!

I am proud of what I am... I am a librarian (she says, trying to sound like Rachel Weisz)
Impressed with the variety of jobs on here - theatre lovers come from all walks of life! Particularly jealous of Phantom of London as the London Underground is my other great obsession (a few years ago I decided I wanted to visit every single tube station and even had a blog about it...)

I might be tempted to take out a membership if I had some idea of what is going to be on after Julius Caesar- I have visions of buying a membership only to find out it will be followed by a year of the likes of the Chuckle Brothers in Rosencrantz and Guildernstern Are Dead and Bobby Davro in Hamlet. I would pay good money to see the Chuckle Brothers in R&G. I've thought before that they should do Waiting For Godot. "Let's go." "We can't." "Why not?" "We're waiting for Godot.” "Oh dear." "Oh dear oh dear." "Suppose we got up to begin with?" "No harm trying." "To me" "To you"
