I guess the reason I thought it would drown it is I saw the original tour with the much bigger set in the Mayflower - I can't imagine the tiny set I saw at the Arts in London filling that big a stage and looking half decent. Anyway, look forward to seeing the rest of the dates and casting for this!

So it looks like there will be another tour of American Idiot next year - the American Idiot Twitter teased it, and now dates have appeared for next January on the Southampton Mayflower website. I am wondering if they are going to use the original tour set as the Mayflower would absolutely drown the set from the most recent tour?

Well according to a recent tweet from Tim Minchin the proposed US tour has been scrapped, meaning the chances of this ever coming back over here are looking even slimmer ☹️ In a tweet just before that one somebody asked if the show will be unrecognisable on tour or in London. Basically asking will they be making loads of changes to the show compared to the Broadway production. His reply was “No ma’am. The show will be exactly the show you love.” WILL BE. Maybe I’m clutching at straws but I’m still holding out hope for this to return. Ooooo thank you for that - I only read the individual tweet on a BroadwayWorld article so didn't see the previous one! So reading between the lines, the show will be staying the same, but won't be going on a US tour, so he can only be talking about a future London production surely?

Just letting everyone know it looks like there are minimum of 10 TodayTix rush tickets, and they just gave me the centre of the front row of the stalls for the first performance tonight, so their allocation may all be front row. Looking forward to it!

Afraid I thought the complete opposite - found this to be an absolute snooze fest! Some beautiful dancing, but other than that I didn't really enjoy much else. Really didn't like the plot - in fact the scene in act 1 by the river made me feel pretty uncomfortable. I've seen a lot of people comparing it to 42nd Street (which I LOVED) so was really disappointed in this. Was hoping for a bit more 'final-performance-atmosphere' too but there wasn't anything of the sort.

Just managed to bag a TodayTix rush seat for this tonight - seeing it for the first time, and being the final performance is a nice bonus. The rush tickets sold out pretty much instantly at 10am, but they are obviously adding more throughout the day as I just managed to bag one - just incase anyone is still looking.

Sorry as I know this has been covered in this thread but I can't find it - how do you make Ticketmaster show the seating plan so you can select your own seats? It seems to work on Internet Explorer (on PC), Firefox (on PC or Mac) and Safari (on an iOS device or Mac). If you're using Chrome on either it won't work.

I managed to get a very last minute ticket for this last night - AA7 in the stalls. Don’t be fooled by seating plans - there is no seat 6 or 8, and this seat is by itself right at the front. There definitely is a seat AA6 as that's where I was originally meant to be sat (until I moved to just behind AA7 for a better view), but it's right off to the side (it would have been on your right the other side of the aisle) on the side of the stage

There’s about 8 seats on the sides of AA and the benches behind them (I’m presuming BB) that they really need to just get rid of. They are practically perpendicular to the stage and the view from all of them is terrible - there was a tiny girl on the end seat next to the wall on the side opposite the seat I was meant to be in (AA6), all I could see was the top of her head over the wall that borders the stage, she can’t have been able to see a thing. I can’t see this being a sell out at all, so are they really necessary?

Last night at The Grinning Man they specifically asked the audience to get out their phones and share a photo of the set on social media before the show started

Unfortunately this was very much a case of style over substance for me. Visually it's stunning - the set, costumes, puppetry and overall design are all amazing. Before the show started there was an announcement specifically asking everyone to take a photo of the stage and post it on online - they must be wanting to show it off! (I've put a few photos below - I'm only posting them as we were specifically told to at the show, usually I wouldn't). However I found the actual show wasn't that great. I can't remember any of the music, the story was a bit all over the place and a few of the performances were very weak. I feel like I got my £15 worth, but glad I didn't pay more. Also, definitely avoid the seats on the ends of row AA - the seats right on the end are behind a wall that has to be peeked over! Luckily there were empty seats in row A that we all moved into. I couldn't see a running time online anywhere, but we were out by 22:09.

Well AA6 definitely still exists, as that’s where I’ll be on Monday and the theatre told me it’s staying where originally planned 😀

I'm heading there on Monday and looking forward to it. Just incase anyone else has booked row AA and was wondering what was happening with their seat based on earlier comments in this thread saying the row had been removed - I just had a chat with the theatre and they informed me it's only the seats on the end of this row that have been removed. The seats in the middle of the row are remaining.

Quick question - how much are they charging for the standard programme? I noticed that the souvenir brochure is £10, so am hoping that they've not priced the smaller programme at a ridiculous level. I do wish they'd adopt the US practice of giving all ticket holders a standard playbill - for the price of any ticket (even the cheapest) surely they could afford it?! I'd rather pay West End ticket prices and pay a couple of £ for a decent programme than have to pay Broadway ticket prices and get a cheap, flimsy free playbill that is 90% adverts with a couple of pages of plain text about the production with not even any colour photos.

And with regards to the seat map issue on the Ticketmaster website it looks like it shows up when using Internet Explorer on a PC, or Safari or Firefox on a Mac, but not Chrome on either. Works fine with my chrome Browser V62.03202.94 but it is 64 bit is that the reason I'm using the exact same version and it definitely doesn't allow you to select your own seat, only the 'find seats for me' option is available. I keep putting returned seats in my basket and having to give myself a good talking to that I'm seeing it in only a few weeks time and I don't need to buy any more today!

A bit of an unusual question - but when they 'swipe' your credit card when you enter, do they swipe the magnetic strip on the back? Or put your card into a machine to read the chip? The magnetic strip on my card is very temperamental, but the chip works fine.

I just went on Ticketmaster and selected tomorrows performance, the seat map loads and there were 6 blue dots/seats available for purchase. Refreshed the page about 15 minutes later and they'd all gone. Some have now appeared for Friday evening which weren't there earlier, so looks like new seats are becoming available all the time

Feel very unlucky that I missed the tickets that became available tonight. I paid £90 last Jan and feel like I wouldn't have minded purchasing a premium ticket for tomorrow and got a refund for the earlier ticket. It only feels like I'm paying £37 I suppose. There are currently 6 tickets available for tomorrow night if you are still looking for one!

Just had an email saying they have removed row AA from all performances and had to phone to exchange tickets. Getting rid of rows is turning into a habit at the Trafalgar Studios. Well this is going to mess up the ‘exclusive front row for £15’ offer that I took up on lastminute.com! Haven’t heard anything from them asking to exchange yet, was due to be in row AA next week

I know a few people were asking about offers for this, and they’ve just posted an offer on Facebook:
Save 40% off of Band A (Green) & B (Red) for performances Tue – Thu (including Thu matinee) from 28 Nov – 7 Dec. Just quote BLACKFRIDAY when booking and book by Monday 27 Nov.
This means the top price tickets (including the booking fee) are now £35 and £31.50. Just booked for Tuesday - can’t wait!
(You put the offer code in on the page AFTER you enter your credit card details)

Has anyone managed to get through yet on the Mastercard presale? Im getting a mixture of gateway errors, and getting stuck in an endless loop between the official London theatre website telling me to go to priceless.com, which then directs you back to the official London theatre website telling you to go to priceless.com!

Don't suppose anyone has a John Lewis/Waitrose Partnership Card and has access to the presale today and can tell us all what shows are included in the sale? I can see mention of Les Misérables, Aladdin and The Play That Goes Wrong on the website but nothing else. Have set multiple alarms to remind me to book at 10am on Friday when the MasterCard presale opens!

Really loved this tonight! Wasn’t expecting it to be so hilarious, the songs were catchy and the cast were great. Seeing pictures of the stage I wasn’t expecting much from the set, but thought it worked really well.
My only criticism would be that it’s far from polished just yet - there were a lot of stumbles with set pieces crashing into each other, flashing lighting that shouldn’t be flashing, desks round the wrong way etc. The ending could also pack more of a punch, I felt it was a bit flat until the curtain call. (Maybe I’m just finding an excuse to go back again later in the run 😀)
Even loved the contemporary dance that everyone else seems to hate!
In the pecking order of drag themed shows I’d put this above Priscilla but below Kinky Boots
