Very surprised nothing has been announced for the Savoy, although if the proposed Annie run is no longer happening maybe they’re left scrambling for something else. I could see a play going in there for a season. I'm not sure if either Matthew Broderick or Sarah Jessica Parker are available but could Plaza Suite go there? It was produced by ATG on Broadway. Another option if Jessica Chastain is available is A Doll's House.

I admit Plaza Suite at the Savoy was more a guess than actual inside knowledge

What could it be? The Band's Visit? Retrograde? August in England? Frank and Percy?

Will they squeeze in a four week run of something? Realistically probably too short notice for anything to fit in for only a 2-3 week run

If next year's revival of Oliver! is destined for the Noel Coward, where do we think Cam Mac's previously announced run of Shucked will go? Gielgud? Or will one of his long-runners make way for it?

I've been tinkering with Excel as I need a bit of practice and I'm interested (sad, I know). So I've updated my tracker to add some test functionality.
Do you want to see what is playing now and coming up in a specific London Theatre?Go to the tab (bottom left) Venue Query WIP, pick your venue from the list and you should get a listing of everything currently open and upcoming.
Do you want to see what is open in London on a specific date?
Go to tab called Date Query WIP, pick your date and you should get a listing of everything open in London on the date (note, this does not at all account for show schedules but merely the that show is running on that date).
I have not added the details of long running shows (Les Mis, Wicked etc) yet so you will not get see them included anywhere and so some theatres with long running shows will say 'No info' and won't be included on the date tracker. There are some odd errors I need to clear up, for example Pinter will show Lyonesse running from 1st October where as it's actually a date still to be confirmed in October. I need to update my query for date/plain text handling. I also need to figure out exactly what is an isn't a venue, it was based on the SOLT venue list but then Menier and Charing Cross and Stratford East seemed worth adding and now it feels like Bush and maybe Arcola are missing. So yes.. a work in progress.
Thanks to those who have added corrections in comments before, as I say it's excel practice and so useful for me for that alone but in case it is useful to anyone else

Ignore me, I've just realised I have to make the sheet fully editable to allow anyone to use the drop-downs. Err I'll get back to you.

As an aside and a long time devotee of Excel and Microsoft VBA, the integration of those AI chatboxes with Excel is staggering.

With Aspects closing early, that leaves a 9-10 week gap at the Lyric. Frank and Percy with McKellen and Allam could be an option or possibly School Girls: The African Mean Girls Play.

Would Dear England fit in the Lyric?

Would Dear England fit in the Lyric? Not unless they redesign the set and likely not enough time to recoup.

So Luke Evans is doing a play later this year in the West End, the only theatres that would be available are Theatre Royal Haymarket, the Duke of York's and the Ambassadors.

Rather than jumping into the Jersey Boys thread.. The following have been mentioned in various press articles as coming/transferring to the West End or from suggestions/hints from posters here in the know (though of course I have no idea if they actually are in the know!)
The Lightening Thief Hedwig and the Angry Inch Frank and Percy The Cher Show Fishermans Friends Shucked Hello Dolly Oliver! The Devil Wears Prada Tammy Faye: A New Musical Groundhog Day The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Trainspotting The Musical Starry (Van Gogh) Assassins Titanique
*If* Frozen and/or Jersey Boys are closing early next year, does anything here then line up? Have I missed anything, is anything now totally dead? I am going to keep a source list going forward....

Don't hold your breath for Tammy Faye. (And sometimes posters aren't wrong, but rather things and situations change due to unforeseen events)

Another possibility for the Lyric is a limited season of the Dublin Gate's Fun Home with Killian Donnelly, directed by Róisín McBrinn. It opened last week to a rapturous critical reception. It's a proscenium production so could be easy to move. It closes on August 26th, one week after Aspects of Love.

I seriously considered going to Dublin for it but couldn't justify the expense of a hotel or face going there and back in a day. I still so regret only seeing the YV production once.

David Furnish, the producer of TAMMY FAYE, confirmed in a very recent Sky News interview (aired a couple of weeks ago) that TAMMY FAYE would be moving to a bigger theatre 'in 2024' and that 'DEVIL WEARS PRADA' is also on the cards for a London production. And for what its worth, Elton will be recording a new album in October. I doubt he would have offered that info if it wasn't true. Mention of TAMMY and PRADA are near the 28:00 mark: news.sky.com/video/beth-rigby-interviews-david-furnish-12907891

I suspect the chances of Fun Home transferring are zilch if the Young Vic which was similarly acclaimed didn't transfer. Not to mention they are unlikely to have West End rights to be able to transfer in the first place.

Hopefully this might be a bit more exciting than the Havers & Hodge announcement.
