The Pinter is a popular theatre with producers, it's booked up until late September. Is The Shining still meant to be going in at the end of the year? I think so?

I recall mrbarnaby mentioning ages ago in some thread or other that a Broadway transfer was coming to the Apollo. Does anyone know any more about this?

Yes that's what occurred to me. Would it fit though, I'm not familiar with it. I had been hoping for The Piano Lesson.

The Unfriend is looking to transfer to another theatre, I would guess the Haymarket as it's the only one with nothing pencilled in straight away.

So glad to hear Standing at the Sky's Edge is transferring to the Gillian Lynne theatre from Feb 2024. Perfect venue for it!

Still waiting to see what’s transferring to the Haymarket. The Only Fools and Horses cast had been told they were extending to October, so the April closure was a shock - there must be a big show lined up that convinced the Haymarket to kick them out early.

Regarding: Long Day’s Journey Into Night, starring Brian Cox, to be directed by Jeremy Herrin, due for spring 2024 It has a link from DMT - www.delfontmackintosh.co.uk/whats-on/long-days-journey-into-nightLikely venue predictions? Wyndham’s (currently home of Oklahoma!) - but the Lesley Manville-Jeremy Irons version of LDJIN was in this same venue 5 years ago.. Gielgud (To Kill a Mockingbird concludes this May) - popular venue for plays, and will also have Sondheim’s Old Friends until January 2024 Noël Coward (Bake Off musical is here until May, followed by Patriots) - surprised that we haven’t heard much about what’s next show for the autumn and beyond. Not sure yet if the Donmar/Almeida musicals like The Band’s Visit, Secret Life of Bees, etc. will transfer immediately. Or if Donmar’s Private Lives becomes a hit, they might transfer here, after all, Coward wrote the original play. The other venues like the Prince Edward, Apollo Victoria, etc. have long running shows so they’re unlikely options.

I don't think Long Day's Journey was ever likely for a musical house like the Prince Edward.

Haymarket, anyone? Dark in 2 weeks!
Am hoping for Playful to transfer Accidental Death of an Anarchist from the Lyric Hammersmith and TRH might be a good fit!

I had a questionnaire sent to me the other day trying to ascertain whether I'd be interested in seeing Bliss A New Musical Comedy, which I'd never heard of. So I presume that is heading this way.

I wonder if they're planning a refurb on the Haymarket hence why nothing has been announced?
To have only one dark theatre is fine, it was never going to be a swathe of theatres, they're too much in demand.

However, the Ambassadors is having another 10 week closure for further work after Rose

I could see The Motive and The Cue transferring either in the Autumn or early next year, it's sold pretty well although not sure what theatre, maybe the Savoy or the Haymarket?
Strange that Playful Productions are struggling to find a theatre for Accidental Death of an Anarchist.

Unsure the validity of this but I heard the Haymarket’s owners want to focus on plays now Only Fools and Horses has closed. But that might be hot air idk.

Makes sense, it's a theatre that is more suitable for plays than musicals. I would imagine there are a few plays they'll try and get like The Motive and The Cue if that is planning a transfer in the future.

Yeah it has the vibe of a play theatre rather than a musical one - members of the OFAH cast even called OFAH ‘a play with songs’ rather than a musical! Another rumour was that Fisherman’s Friends was going in for a short run (but again MASSIVE pinch of salt, my source is ‘a guy knows a guy’)

The Motive and the Cue is looking to transfer to the Noel Coward according to Baz.
I could see Jack Thorne's other play When Winston Went to War with the Wireless having a further life as tickets have been selling well and possible the Donmar's production of Private Lives.

Very surprised nothing has been announced for the Savoy, although if the proposed Annie run is no longer happening maybe they’re left scrambling for something else.
