I haven't seen this production, but I agree that for the Coliseum I'd choose front upper over rear dress any day - the rear dress feels so distant from the stage.

No insider theatre knowledge, but based on the last several months dealing with lateral flow results in school ...
I assume that when a show goes down announcing only a few performances, they've had a positive lateral flow test and are waiting for the PCR to confirm a positive case. The last thing they want is to cancel the next ten days of performances and then it turn out that they didn't need to after all if the PCR comes back negative.
Heathers initially said this weekend then that changed quickly to the whole of next week - presumably the PCR came back positive. Anything Goes did the same thing but are now expecting to be back on - I assume that PCR came back negative then.

Gutted that I'm going to miss the tour in Liverpool now - I need to do a matinee for trains and I'm already booked on the two matinee days of the second week.

Apparently it will only apply to new isolations from the 16th - anyone who has already been asked to isolate has to serve out their ten days.

They've released some of the cheaper side circle seats for the new "gala night" or whatever it is they're calling it now this coming Wednesday. I've picked one up out of nosiness since I'm in London for the matinee anyway. Will be very disappointed now if it turns out to be exactly the same show with no changes!

I want to go again to see Holly-Anne Hull but would need to be a cheap seat this time. Has anyone sat in either the seats behind the pillars at the back of the stalls or the far ends of row A of the upper circle please? Specifically I'd like to know if the ends of row A upper circle are aisle seats - I sat on the end of row A royal circle last time which is labelled as not an aisle but has a small gap that I was able to use as an exit.

I had an interesting character beside me at Six last night. He wore his disposable mask until the lights went down then ripped it off, and proceeded to use it to wipe his face a few times during the show. He half heartedly applauded a few songs and just ignored some others entirely while sitting there stone-faced. Then after Six (essentially the curtain call, for those who don't know the show) he stayed seated, still not clapping, for a few seconds then stood up and walked out before the megamix finale, leaving his used mask on the floor.

Oh yeah, insurance. Oh I think we’ll go for it then. The only spanner might be if they announce Burke doing the first show back! I don’t think it is the first show back - the 17th is on sale on LW Theatres site. I’ll be grumpy if they do change it, a friend and I are there for Linzi on the 18th too.

Anyone else looking at the weather forecast for tomorrow and crossing all their fingers and toes? It'll be gutting if the first preview for this is rained off too like Romeo & Juliet.

I was on the phone to the doctor and missed the original email, but I've managed to pick up a single in row F of the royal circle from the ones being re-added, thanks for the heads up!

You may think that, but I would choose to see Frozen over The Lion King any time. Yes, the opening of TLK is spectacular, but past that I was bored. Whereas of the five shows I saw in New York a couple of years ago, Frozen was second only to Beetlejuice for me.

Hi, new member here! Wasn’t sure where else to go to ask this, but does anyone know what the view is like from the ‘severely restricted’ seats at Heathers? I only saw the show at the Other Palace and want to take my friend now it’s on the west end again! I’ve sat in the ones on the end of row A in the dress circle (I sat in the one further from the stage, not the one by the wall). Be prepared to lean forwards, but if you can do that the view is fine. You’ll just miss the back corner on the side of the stage nearest to you.

I'm booked for a go in the spinning chairs tomorrow - hoping it goes ahead but still not 100% convinced. My backup plan is to hope TodayTix still have some discounted Heathers tickets as if it's a last minute cancellation I'll already be on my way.
I'm supportive of them expecting LFTs from fully vaccinated guests as well - we know that vaccinated people can still catch and therefore spread it, even if the viral load is less and so presumably less likely to pass on, it's still a possibility. I have a lot of theatre booked over my school holidays and will continue to test regularly regardless of whether theatres require me to or not, even once I'm able to get the vaccine covid pass.

Earl Carpenter on as Javert this afternoon - if it wasn’t so hot I’d be rushing into London! Ditto! I did briefly consider it but I'd have had to run for a train and then have half an hour to get from Euston to the theatre, and making that journey in that heat doesn't appeal in the slightest. This afternoon's audience are in for a great show.

Pharaoh Story was down a tone, I think, for anyone else who’s musically inclined and nosey. Enough to make it more manageable for Linzi I guess but still packs a punch. Her part in the megamix was soooo low - I guess that’s Alexandra’s key. So glad she didn’t have to do the whole song in that key.
I may have actually fist pumped the air when we got “Chained and bound afraid alone, Joseph stood before the throne” in the right key though. She’s still got it!

The altered keys are still there and annoying me but when it’s the “right” key I feel like I could be listening to the recording. She sounds so good. Fingers crossed for Pharaoh Story - hoping as it’s self contained rather than full company they can do it in the key that works for her rather than Alexandra’s key.

They just want a covid pass from the app. The things they’ve listed are the options that will give a valid covid pass. Their wording is poor - it should definitely be an “or” - if it wasn’t, they’d be saying that only people who have had covid can go.

Max, at no point did I suggest that because I’m ok with testing that means there’s no issue - read my post again if that’s your impression. Quite the opposite. You realise that the theatres will only have been able to start putting these measures in place this week after the government confirmed full capacity, yes? I agree with you entirely that more than a few days notice would be better, and hopefully that will be the case moving forward once they have everything sorted. It’s only those of us who have shows booked this coming week that have such short notice - and even then there has been a lot of talk about the possibility of needing covid passes after the 19th for a while. Hi Alison, I didn't think at all that you were saying there was no issue or complication for some audience members. I did consider not replying to you, but making a separate post, but tried to word carefully as it's good to have a conversation. So when I said I was glad it worked for you and your situation - I was being genuine! Not sure what it says about this board (or social media generally) that the first assumption is that someone is being snarky. But who could blame you, because....enough examples! Enjoy the show - and I mean that! It’s really hard to measure tone online, isn’t it. I hope you enjoy it when you manage to see it too!

I’ve managed to get a seat on the train before my booked one, so on my way! Look for emerald green trousers and bag, brown striped top and my sunflower lanyard. It's hot here Fingers crossed the Palladium air conditioner can cope!

I assume they’ll send everyone an email a couple of days before the show to make sure they’re aware. I got two of the terms and conditions change ones sent last night (one for CFA, one for Pretty Woman that I’m seeing on Tuesday) and then a separate one for Pretty Woman saying I need to take action before my visit.
It would be more helpful for them to put exactly what’s needed in the body of the email though, rather than just a link. The email i had just said attendees over 18 must show proof of covid status and then a link to click on for more info. That’s fine for me as I’ve been testing twice a week all year for work but for someone who hasn’t had to do that they need to be clearer in explaining what’s needed IMO.

Well, my train has been cancelled so that’s a great start to the day. At this rate I’ll be the one running stressed into the theatre just as the lights go down.

The longest day trip I’ve done ever is Edinburgh to London and back in the same day to see Daddy Long Legs when Megan McGinnis was over here with it.
The most recent long distance rush between two shows was a couple of years ago when &Juliet had just opened in the WE. I’d driven over an hour from home to Oxford to see the Six tour matinee, then while I was there found out that one of the &J covers was making his debut. So I left my car at the Oxford park and ride, jumped on the Oxford-London train straight after Six and made it not long before the show. Then afterward I had to get the train back to Oxford, walk the 30 mins back to the park and ride and then drive the hour and a bit home!

Yes, I remember those days too, but there was never a requirement to buy two tickets if you only needed one at tkts. Like a lot of us, I’m sure, the only way I’m able to see as much theatre as I do is because of things like rush tickets. Particularly now that both standard tickets and train prices are so much more expensive.

I’m really hoping they go back to having single tickets (surely there’s no excuse once they don’t have to worry about distancing). It defeats the point of you have to buy two tickets regardless of whether you have someone to come with you or not.

I just got a Joseph email with my Cinderella seat details from last month! I just got this too for Cinderella perf on 25 June... What on earth is going on?! Yes, I got the 25th June Cinderella one too. I'm back at Cinderella on Monday so thought it was for that show at first.

They definitely had rush at the Piccadilly, I got very lucky and picked up centre front row from rush about a week before everything closed.

And for those people, that's not ideal but if they can find a way round it then good for them. For others, that's just not an option. I know two people, one of whom is a huge Six fan and has been following the show since the first London run, who use a power chair all the time and so are just unable to access the theatre at all. One of them really wanted to see the play Emilia when it was on but it was just physically impossible. And yes, they have complained in the past but like so much disability access, it was completely ignored by the abled majority.
The reason people are making such a noise now is probably because it is a more popular show with a younger audience. And yes, I do agree that sometimes the younger Twitter mob can go too far on calling for things to be cancelled, but in this case I don't think that's what most people are asking for - and they're not wrong. The fact that in 2021 this level of inaccessibility is allowed, and justified based on the structure of a building, is completely unacceptable. People should be more important than buildings, sorry not sorry!

The reaction on Twitter to the news hasn’t been positive from the looks of it, the Vaudeville is not accessible which excludes a lot of people (I can’t say I’ve ever been) Is the Arts accessible? Where it is now was always temporary (Not trying to stoke the fire, I’m lucky that I’ve never really had to worry about it) Yes, the Arts is accessible. There’s a wheelchair space at the back of the circle and separate level access.
