Had the day off work and it was my intention to sloth on the sofa. Plus it was raining. So, with the duvet over me, I watched the Tammy Faye film.
Jessica Chastain puts in a mighty performance.

Two thoughts
Tess' dress was the colour of a hummingbird
(Not that he doesn't deceiver the accolades) but Sam Ryder is a hippie.

Well that was a fun show.
We're obviously dealing with the crop on this years celebrities.
Everybody seemed to up their game.
At one stage at the beginning I think (possibly for the first time ever) we saw beyond Claudia's fringe.
One or two dodgy camera angles, especially for Ellie & Johannes' dance. And whist they were being interviewed you could see them preparing the sub set for Helen & Gorka.
At times, I actually found the additional dancers distracting.
So glad to here the final song.
For anyone who may not be aware, the song was written a performed by Peter Allen. Despite being gay, Peter Allen was Liza Minnelli's first husband and came from a small country NSW town in Australia called Tenterfield, co-incidently where Craig Revel Harewood comes from.
In his day, Peter Allen was BIG! The musical the Boy From OZ that Hugh Jackman won his Tony Award for a couple of years ago was based upon Peter Allen's life.
Peter Allen was piano playing singer-songwriter. The song performed on tonights Strictly show was his biggest hit. He also write the sonf I Honestly Love You which was a hit for Olivia Newton-John. He also wrote a song call I Still Call Australia Home and every time there was some sort Royal Variety concert in Australia both Peter Allen and Rolf Harries used to always perform.
In dedication of his grandfather who was saddler (making saddles for horses) he wrote a song called Tenterfield Saddler.
He also won and Academy Award for writing a line in Arthur's Theme, sung by Christopher Cross; the line 'when you get caught between the moon and New York City'
He finally succumbed to an AIDS related illness, survived by his long-term partner.

I see live theatre all the time- I mean ALL OF THE TIME- it's actual one of the many (many) reasons that I moved to the London.
Whilst I have a personal preference for musicals, I do occasionally enjoy a great play.
I saw this show at the Young Vic a couple of years back and (genuinely) not knowing anything about this show cannot remember the last time I was so moved by a piece live theatre.
Every person on stage, young and old, were just sensational. I never forgot it. And I'm not even a lesbian! Lol!
When it came to Sydney, I told everyone I know to go and see it!

Regardless of what I know from this forum and the 'official' reason, even I could see what bull s**t that was!
As soon as Tess announced it, I couldn't even watch it. I went and put away some folded laundry.

I do not wish him ill but if we're at the stage of going to Blackpool then only those who deserve to should go.
I don't care how many Arsenal fans are voting for him, he is clearly the weakest performer out there and to me it doesn't seen fair that a better dancer should miss out on Blackpool be cause of him.
Yes, yes, I know t's a popularity contest, but this doesn't invalidate my point.
Even Katya is finding it hard to hide her frustration.

For anyone who recognises the voice, but not necessarily the face, Billy Eichner was Timmone the meerkat in the most recent Lion King re-make

And Ben Platt, who plays PARADE, he gave everything
It's looking pretty good and apparently Ben Platt remains on stage throughout the intermission.
For me, Parade is on of the bestow the modern musicals.
I've been saying it for years but will continue to do so until it happens- Parade is a movie musical waiting to happen.

Comedy bad audience behaviour of an problematic cancelled A list Hollywood actor next to us who was on their phone googling about the show in Act I (buy a programme dear) and had a friend that brought a small buffet into the show in Act II. You’re going to need to be more specific - there’s way too many problematic A list Hollywood actors to guess who that might be. 🤨 Really? I was in the foyer for about an hour waiting for return ticket and I didn't see any A list Hollywood actor. I'm normally really good at that sort of thing.

I've never seen the show but only heard good things.
Rod Madge must be devastated. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Loved the costumes and make up.
Motsi's make up half-fact make up was amazing.
I loved Thing sitting on Shirley's shoulder.
Craig will jump at any opportunity to drag up.
It always puzzles me that Tess and Claudia never dress up.
I thought Vito looked completely different.
Everyone seems to have improved considerably. Iy'll be interesting to see who's in the dance-off.

Well, what fun that was!
Firstly, thank you for all of the likes to my previous post.
The seat I was allocated was perfect! Smack bang in the centre- the perfect view.
I don't know a great deal about American TV evangelism.
It wasn't something regularly televised when I was growing up in Australia. I mean I was certainly aware of Tammy Faye through some interviews, but that's about it.
So it was great to see their raise to fame and their ultimate demise. Also the mechanics going on behind the scenes plotting to being them down.
And there's so much there- flamboyance, extravagance, overspending, affairs, homosexuality, - I could go on.
Such ripe material for a musical.
The music was great. Despite hearing it for the first time, I found myself tapping my foot.
I'd love a cast recording.
There was an incredibly hard working ensemble covering many roles. There were also a couple of laugh out loud laughs.
I loved the costumes, wigs and lighting.
The staging was simple bit effective. Some slick choregraphy.
Great to see Andrew Randell actually performing- BTW, his fringe, didn't move.
But this show belongs too Katie Brayben's show. She is just sensational.
I caught the matinee today and the nouse was full!
This show is in a terrific condition. If this doesn't transfer I'll be shocked!

Friggin' unbelievable! I was supposed to be going tonight but received an email that tonight's performance was cancelled due to a cast illness. However as the run is now sold out they can't offer me another date. All I can have is either a refund or a credit. Looks like Ant might have to queue for a return. Grrr! [b Looks like today's matinee went ahead. Oh and your post is on Twitter, you are famous. Really? I have a Twitter account

I was there yesterday. Not ever having been to either the Excel centre or to any sort of Con (Comic.com etc) beforeI was very impressed by the size of the whole thing. It was also my first time on the new Elizabeth line.
As it was my first time to such an event, I only purchased a one day pass. I also chose not to partake in any of the singing/dance events.
Firstly, this was LOUD. Not that I found it offensive but I felt it did override everything.
And it was extremely busy. It did drop off a bit after lunch
I caught the last part of the Jenna Russell talk and luckily once in there was the option of re-entry.
In terms of the exhibitors, they were varied and knowledgable.
I saw some very clever costumes. There were a lot of Heathers, several Phantoms and Christine's, several Jenna's from Waitress, a lot od Queen from Six, I saw a very well dressed Everybody's Talking About Jamie, I saw a few Elphabah's, both a Glinda and Galinda, a few Jean ValJoohns, Enjorles and Eponione's. I also saw a woman dressed as Mark from Rent, A few Beatlejuice's a girl in Kinky Boots, a dwarf dressed as the chimney sweep Bert (of Mary Poppins) and one guy dressed as Seymour Krelbourne (Little Shop of Horrors) carrying Audrey II. He was awesome and seemed pretty impressed that I immediately recognised who he was.
However what I did find disappointing was that I would have thought that every show would have had their own stalls selling merchandise- like an expanded West End Flea Market.
The problem with the West End Flea Market was too many people for the space. Here you had the space, but not the exhibitors.
And I wasn't the only person thinking this. I met several people that I know who all said exactly the same thing.
& Juliet was there, with just the costumes and designs, for Back to the Future there was the DeLorian car and Moulin Rouge was applying temporary tattoos.
Dunno, just seemed like a missed opportunity with such a captive audience.
Maybe next year they'll learn from this years mistakes.
I know some one who was there with his partner who was there for both days and who partook in some events, with the final performance of Dear Evan Hansen last night.
Would I go again? Most definitely.
If not to see the changes.

You know, knowing this outcome, I'm not suprised as both were heavily criticised last night.
If you've just completed the dance you've reversed all week and you're standing in front of the judges having to explain the story, that's never good.
