I noticed that too, wonder if its been prematurely loaded? Probably has been. I've now edited the thread title as I optimistically put 2020 instead of 2019

Found this lurking on the RSC website with booking opening on Tuesday 5th March for all levels.
Looks like its possibly the first of this year's Mischief Festivals, but literally no information on it apart from dates and that there are captioned performances planned.
Googled it and found nothing except a reference on an agency website.

{Spoiler - click to view} Coup 1: Not easily described. The Court has a grassy floor, which is ripped up in the last court scene and all the house lights come up and it is as though we are in the theatre for the rest (at least that's how I read it), with certain scenes being lit more like a play. Seemed too clever for it's own good
Coup 2: Hymen at the end is a stunning puppet, very much in the style of the ones in Liverpool. Highly effective Any chance of putting them behind a spoiler tag so the nosy among us can know what you're talking about?

Very enjoyable - hadn't seen As You Like It before and now looking forward to future productions. Thought Lucy Phelps was outstanding as Rosalind and Sandy Grierson very enjoyable as Touchstone (channeling Billy Connolly a little), as well as the two you mention. We actually were impressed by both coups (but we were in the stalls front row at the side) - was it the first or second you were less impressed by? The first as seemed just for shock factor the second took my breath away.

Couldn't see a thread for this as a distinct show.
Was sat in Circle A7, so in one of the temporary new seats.
Was a solid show with two coups in it, one of which genuinely blew me away, and one of which was meh! I can't say too much without ruining the show.
Views aren't bad from these seats, however I had problems hearing everyone.
Particular highlights are Sophie Stanton as Jacques and Charlotte Arrowsmith's Audrey, with the integrated sign language.
Definitely one I need to see again.

Saw 7 yesterday afternoon. Meaning I had done all 7.
Liked both of the plays in almost equal measure, however Slight Ache did just come out in front.
Overall I've been bowled over by the chances over the season, with some discoveries and ones I thought I'd enjoy but wasn't that blown away by.
Personal top 3, in no particular order:
- Party Time - Mountain Language - The Lover

I'm being greedy but deffo liked another Shakespeare if nothing else to fill that gap between summer and winter seasons in RST instead of a comedy season.
Also love to have had the first TOP season of the year come up

Ignoring the musical, looks a fab season, especially the two new plays.
Interesting they're closing the RST seemingly for a period of 2 months almost apart from some comedy nights.

Boy in a dress King John Museum in Baghdad The whip. Winter season ad in times The Whip, what the flip is that?? No idea, but fantasy is that one of the new plays is a David Edgar, know this may divide people

Both new RSC sales for swan not great so big risk to do Henry v1 right now Wanamaker winter season is Henry v1 so that's pretty good to anticipate. I'd forgotten they were coming, will sate my thirst for them there. Swan hasn't been as strong definitely.

I have lost track of how far behind the original plan we are now. The 'doing all the plays in the RST' was dropped The time frame of 5 (and then 6) years is long gone I am far from convinced Doran will ever finish the cycle. The longer he delays, the longer he can cling on as AD, I guess. Only a couple of years i reckon, the second tetralogy will finish it off. Doran will go when his ten years are up, so 2023,the folio quartercentenniel coincidentally. Had this conversation with one of the staff, as he said about Doran going earlier, but said 2023 would be another biggie for Doran, though how he can celebrate it I don't know

By my reckoning by end of Summer 2019 we will still have the following due in the complete works: The Comedy of Errors All's Well The Winter's Tale King John Henry VI 1, 2 and 3 Richard III Henry VIII Cymbeline So a really easy load to plan and stage Cymbeline was done in 2016,Pericles is "free" but as it wasn't in the Folio, they may not do it. So true, forgot about that Cymbeline, hope Pericles is included but we shall see

Yes they have left a few of the lesser known ones for the end, especially putting them on in the mainhouse. I suspect one or two will be in the Swan a la Timon. I suspect so, only news I managed to get was apparently Timon will get a cinema release, which made me wonder if there is a Shakespeare next winter

Usually try and make first previews at RSC as much as can or nearest preview I can get to. And regularly and up by the creatives. Some of whom have annoying torches or decide to whisper through it.
Last memorable one was Chris Luscombe and crew for Twelfth Night last Xmas, not awful but they were whispering and of course the mad scratching of pens. Unfortunately I didn't get to say what I thought

The 19/20 season ought to be announced Monday. Other than the new Walliams/Williams Musical, any clues? None at all. Popping in tomorrow will see if can get any clues
