I clicked on the Plymouth Theatre Royal link and it came up with '404 Oops, something went wrong'. I think I've subscribed ok though.

My email arrived 1 hour 15 mins after the noon 'deadline'. Still tickets available on the dates I'm looking at - front row stalls, or back of the upper circle.

I don't recall subscribing, but I've received an email. Might be worth a punt for 10 quid!

It's selling terribly. For a show that has been hyped and plugged for ages, with some of the big theatre names in it, it's not good. The public either don't know enough about the show/cast or their not interested. This hasn’t been hyped at all. I bet no one outside of this board or showbizzy people are even aware of it happening. EP mentioned it on her show today.

John Owen Jones has just posted on Twitter / X that he is out for the rest of the run, due to an ongoing viral throat infection.

This was one of my favourite shows too. So glad I stuck with the memory and didn't book for this version.

I was thinking about this one, and have now booked on the strength of everyone's positive reports! Will be nice to discover a new theatre, too.

Thinking back to yesterday's matinee. Yes, I did love it and the glorious music, but it wasn't perfect. As others have said, Norm wasn't entirely up to scratch, with (by the sound of things) flubbed lyrics in every performance, but Celinde was fabulous. According to the blurb in the programme the little lad, Cian, had no musical theatre or vocal training prior to lockdown. After watching a recording of Phantom in 2021 he started singing songs from the show and asked to have singing lessons (although he has played Michael Banks in Poppins and Gavroche in Les Mis, but not sure when). Pretty impressive! Anyway, I'm so pleased I saw this, and also glad I was alone, so I could take it all in without distraction!

I was there this afternoon and loved it. Hadn't realised how much I missed this glorious music. That wonderful orchestra!

Woman in a box at a matinee yesterday, with bare feet resting on the edge for all to see.

I want to see it too, but am not prepared to pay the silly money they are asking for a decent seat. I shall wait for offers.

Well, I was at the matinee and loved it, as did the vast majority of the audience! I'm not saying it was perfect, but I left happy. 4.5 stars.

If every rumoured celebrity actually took part, Strictly would be going until Easter!

Oddly disappointed by this reveal. He's done a great job keeping me entertained over the past few years, but I really did think he was a 'producer' of some sort! I've never heard of Christian Edwards.

Nigel Harman, ex Eastenders and Downton Abbey, and currently in Casualty (also Shrek and I Can't Sing, if my memory is correct), is the latest rumoured contestant, according to the Daily Fail.

I've been tempted a few times, but always think, well, I've paid a lot of money for this, so I'm determined to stick it out.

I had a conversation with an avid Ball & Boe fan at the Les Mis staged concert. She was attending on a John Owen Jones scheduled day, through choice, because Ball and Boe "always messed about when on stage together." I told her this certainly wasn't the case at Les Mis, but she was adamant, she wasn't going to take that chance.

I'm another one who has pared back their theatregoing due to cost. I keep an ever changing list of shows I would like to see, and usually take great delight in crossing one off once booked. However, more than one show has been pushed down the order or even dropped once I've seen the cost of tickets. I like to sit near the front as I like to feel involved in a show, but the price of these tickets is prohibitive in most cases. I'm fortunate in that I'm close enough to London not to need to plan too far ahead (and equally fortunate that I still have some trains even on strike days) and can take advantage of offers if and when they come up (I'm retired), but frequently such offers don't include matinees or weekends. I'm equally fortunate in that I'm usually a solo theatregoer, so don't have to worry about pre- or post-show meals with companions (I just grab a sandwich somewhere), and am also old enough to have a senior railcard. I agree, though, that theatregoing is one of the first things to go when money is tight. I recall once becoming embroiled in the comments section of the Daily Fail (don't judge me!), when I said something about theatre tickets and was accused of flaunting my privileged existence!!!

I booked an Avanti West Coast train last year. My direct train was abruptly terminated half way through the journey, so it was a free-for-all for the next available connection. Although I had purchased tickets for a direct train, complete with reservations, when I queried it with an operative at the station they all but laughed in my face and said that service hadn't been running for months.

I saw this last week. I'd not seen it before, which may or may not have been a good thing. Can't say I fell in love with it, but I thought the performances were all very good, yes, even JB. I loved the orchestra and most of the music. I actually think they should have kept the original young ages, as it would have had a larger impact, particularly in today's climate. However, I wouldn't rush to see it again. As far as I'm concerned, it's ticked a box and that's all.

Saw someone try to bring in a pizza once. Thankfully they were stopped at the door, which they then blocked whilst dividing up said pizza into slices and handing them around. No point wasting the pizza. Did you get a slice? Sadly no. He was with friends and they scoffed the lot.
