She has been at the show ten years so certainly deserves a few minutes to say her thanks. I thought it was lovely. Usually someone just reads out a list of names and says "these people are all going" then says a line about each lead. This was special.

I was also there. I have been to many cast change shows and this was up with the very best of them. Lucie and Helen were absolutely outstanding and I thoroughly enjoyed their performances. Very strong supporting cast and ensemble too, especially in the dance department.
Looking forward to seeing the new cast now.

I saw the matinee at Sunderland Empire today and knew nothing about the show/book beforehand.
I really liked it. The staging was really clever and I found myself on the theatre website at the interval looking for a ticket for the rest of the week. Worth it for that door scene alone!
I am not sure the second act quite matched the "wow factor" of the first but still a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and great to watch something that is different.
I didn't realise Charlie Brooks (Janine Butcher from Eastenders) was in this. I thought she was really good, as were the whole cast.

There are definitely things that could be done but it is whether the American team will allow it.

Manford might be ok. When I saw him in Chitty his acting was at the level needed to portray a talking, funny lion (unless the show portrays the lion differently from the film and it actually requires subtlety). Ashley Banjo does very well for himself doesn’t he? Always on the telly it seems. And he’s done some panto so again, maybe the Tin Man isn’t that far away from that type of role? It’s all sounding a bit second rate though. In the previous London production most of the Wizards were terrible so the bar is pretty low. I can't remember who it was but I am sure I remember one of them having their lines on props etc and still getting them wrong. I think Manford will do a great job but it is really predictable casting.

I think the regulars just buy up all the tickets between them just in case fifth cover midwife makes a rare appearance.

Just my blooming luck to pick the one show out of 9 she, understandably, didn't do then! :-) If it is a nine show week the show they are missing is usually put at the holiday section on this page www.wickedthemusical.co.uk/cast-creative/

Looks like I am the first to see this. I saw the matinee yesterday in Sunderland I saw it previously with Alexandra Burke but can't remember much about it, bar terrible audience behaviour. There are now pre show announcements to unwrap your sweets, turn off your phone and don't sing along until the finale. It was played twice, although the last time was about ten minutes before the show. Really it needs to play just before curtain up as many of those who need to hear it will be in the bar! As for the the actual show. I enjoyed it! A good set with some projections. For a tour that begun less than a month ago I think it's in very good shape already. I saw Samantha Mbolekwa as Rachel (Melody doesn't do matinees) and I really enjoyed her performance. Emily Mae Walker as her sister Nicki was also outstanding. Such a powerful voice. I also loved the young lad who played Rachel's son. So talented. Sadly there was no cast board so I am unsure who I saw. Ensemble were also really sharp and full of energy.

Is there any way to watch the performances online? I'd love to watch My Fair Lady.

The entire situation is bizarre. Sadly this absence of named performers with no explanation is becoming BAU and if it’s challenged you get a social media “be kind” pile on. We had a pile on of sorts here when it became very apparent that Jessie Buckley couldn’t perform 8 shows in Cabaret. I repeat: producers be honest and this wouldn’t be a problem. As a side note… Lucie is either at the stratospheric point where is doesn’t matter or is at a difficult situ where her reliability is seriously in question. I would wager Glinda and Nessa covers have been on just as much as Elphaba ones.

She officially left April 2022 but was back in August, September and probably some other dates I have forgotten:D
Also a fan of hers; she is great.

If someone has to go off mid show there is obviously a very good reason for that.
There is a lot more going on than that comment. Sadly not for the first time, many Elphaba's have been trolled terribly by people who claim to be fans of the show.
Whether they do this for attention I do not know. Lucie has always made herself very accessible to her fans on social media and in real life. She is lovely and friendly at stage door. It saddens me that this is never enough for some people.

Laura Pick is RETURNING tonight. This is the 5th or 6th time she's been called back since this cast took over. I'm not sure what is happening at the AV, but this contract has been disastrous all around for the mediocre performances given. You can call out attendances all you want but performances have been anything but mediocre in my view.

There definitely could be more Sunday evening shows on but, yes, I know theatres and performers would probably not be keen but I'm sure they'd be very popular.

For me a lot of the audience behaviour last night *bordered* on annoying and if it wasn't closing, I would have been pretty mad. If the actress on stage is singing excellent notes can we please listen to and appreciate them BEFORE we shriek about it? It would be nice to actually hear them! I get that it was closing night, but that also makes me want to hear what's being sung even more, if it's for the last time. Oh yes you always get that at shows. Never mind all the "projects" in the run up to get attention. Just enjoy the show folks! Everyone there is a fan, same as you. Thankfully it calmed down as shrieking and whopping at a show based on a natural disaster doesn't always work out so well... A highly enjoyable evening and very emotional. Loved the speeches. Sadly we had none of the same at Mary Poppins this afternoon.

I was there. What a wonderful show this is. It really is fantastic and will be a huge miss to London. I have lost count how many times I have watched it but it still brings so much joy.
Fantastic audience. I was in the grand circle and hadn't realised I was sat right near where she goes on her "journey". Still one of the most amazing sights in theatre.
Cannot say enough good things about this show.
