Has disciplining your child gone completely out of the window? This is going to make me sound like a child-hating harpie (which I may be but that’s beside the point) but I paid to hear trained actors perform and would rather 6 year old Pandora from Buckinghamshire kept her singing and incessant questions to the privacy of her own home

The casting call they put out for a new Jethro said it was running until January

If it’s the same Alex Hammond who covered Sam Attwater’s many absences in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers you’ll be in for a good show

A week isn’t much time to rehearse, will the LA cast use their cover Jamie & Locos or is the entire UK tour cast flying over?

I can imagine there's a lot of panicked phone calls to performers that have previously been in the show

Both Anything Goes and Phantom hasn't had said anything so seems unlikely it's them and the only musicals which are opening before the 16th August are Mary Poppins, Tina or The Lion King. ALW does seem to love his hyperbole with the suggestion of 2084 for Cinderella ALW might have been referring to Tina, it's not been widely reported but I got an email last week saying reopening was pushed back to 5th August because of a positive Covid case in rehearsals

I did - and let's say the original cast had a range of ages whereas the new cast photos on the whole look - dare I say - on the "young" side or that might just be me. When I saw the new rehearsal photos yesterday I was surprised at how young the new Carlotta looks. Usually they seem to cast actresses who are 40-ish so visibly older than Christine. This time both actresses look about the same age. Though I don't I know how old Saori Oda is so maybe she's older than she looks. And admittedly opera singers in the 19th century tended to start their careers at a younger age than opera singers do nowadays so Carlotta could have started her career in her late teens and risen to be the Paris Opera prima donna while still under 30. (I may be overthinking this!) Isolation boredom got me to do some detective work: Saori graduated in 2008 so if she was 21 then she'd be 34 now

Has the tour set been updated to reflect Broadway and London? I don't think so, Cleves still sits on a pull-out bench for Get Down rather than the new throne in London, I suppose that's easier to tour with

It's hardly sour grapes at not getting the theatre they expected, a quick look at the Nimax theatres website and you can see the difference in accessibility for the Apollo & Vaudeville Theatres is staggering.
Apollo: Platform lift that can accomodate up to 300kg, full accessible toilet in the stalls Vaudeville: Stair climber with max. weight of 190kg that has to be pre-booked and the patron has to arrive 45 minutes prior to curtain, no accessible toilets but an escort offered to the one at the hotel down the road
Also, it's not like your average Joe Bloggs disabled theatre goer has any power or say in how theatres are run and their accessibility, their only option is to draw attention to it online and hope enough people take notice

Feeling a bit miffed, back in April I booked £30 upper circle tickets for July which ultimately ended up getting cancelled and refunded as reopening was pushed back, those same seats are now £45 each

1st - are you sure you got the vaccine and not the placebo? 2nd - after a year Astra very likely lost much of its strength especially against Delta variant - you should have gotten a booster shot Don't think I've been offered a booster shot, and we all got told around May whether we got the actual vaccine or not

Going to throw in my 2p. I'm in my mid-twenties, reasonably healthy and fully vaccinated (since August as I took part in the Oxford trial). I've also been wearing a mask everywhere and avoiding large crowds, my only outings are alone to the theatre. Despite this I tested positive this morning and have spent the day feeling like I've been hit by a train. I am 100% in favour of masks and other restrictions sticking around until everyone's had the oppurtunity to be fully jabbed, and if I can get it and feel this awful I dread to think how it would affect someone more vulnerable

I also loved the new Woman In White. ALW and team clearly identified everything that was wrong with it the first time around and fixed it all. Maybe in 10 years he will do the same with Cinderella! Was fabulous wasn't it! I even liked the Glyde actor, whose name escape me, who I thought was ghastly in the Miss Saigon recast. Loved that show very much. Not feeling seasick the whole time really helped! Chris Peluso! Wonderful actor, one of those who manages to have chemistry with everyone onstage, including the furniture

Also, does anyone have any idea when the alternate shows will be? I really want to see Lucy and Holly. I can’t speak for what the post-reopening schedule will be, but before the alternate normally did Monday & Friday evenings

Nothing’s been announced yet but looking at the website all shows between 8th-17th July are mostly or completely sold out with good availability from 19th onwards so they’re probably doing social distancing as well

It's a new musical trying to open during this pandemic and as we come out of lock down, it's a show that has suffered more than most with all it's false starts, and do you know what? I just feel like there doesn't need to be the level of negativity and mickey taking, especially before anyone has even seen the show. We should be encouraging and uplifting, not tearing something down. If you don't like what you have heard or know about the show so far, fair enough, but there's no need to be so loud about it either? No, sorry, this is a discussion forum. People are entitled to be negative as well as positive no matter what the circumstances. If it isn't done in a nasty way then I don't really think there should be any censorship. Plus the songs we’ve heard so far weren’t leaked without the creatives’ permission, it’s literally promo material used to create buzz around the show and give people an idea of what to expect. We’re allowed to criticise the material designed to reflect the entire show if we don’t enjoy it

He threw at tantrum that Jesus Christ Superstar at Regent’s Park last year wasn’t inviting critics, at a point when the theatre was at half capacity and running at a loss

Purely by chance I've seen Genesis Lynea in Legally Blonde, Jesus Christ Superstar, In the Heights, Six and The Wild Party. She always catches my eye because she's such an incredible dancer

London’s matinee cancelled and tickets transferred to the evening, which is annoying as I now have to rearrange my tickets for Sunset Boulevard the same day

Maybe she's only their stepmother? Which would make genetic sense given she's white & both Princes are black. Maybe Cinderella & Prince Sebastian could bond over both having stepmothers they don't get on with.
I would assume they're just using stage rules of colour blind casting, like how a black Eponine can have 2 white parents and we don't question it too much
