the wines were reasonably priced and great quality. Any recommendations?! House white was lovely. And the Pineau went perfectly with the madeleines.

Really enjoyed this yesterday. Such a talented cast and much funnier than I’d expected after reading comments on here. The theatre is charming and we thought the staff were outstanding! Nothing was too much trouble. Didn’t eat (other than the free Madeleines) but the wines were reasonably priced and great quality.

I agree with Kermode on the movie. I really wanted to love this. And some parts, I did. 80% if the effects were excellent but the others were weak and this threw the balance of the show. Liked the acting with the exception of Peter Bowles who is laughably wooden. Sir Ian was the wrong choice: camp and prissy instead of demonic. The Exorcism itself felt so rushed that, if I didn’t know the story, it would have been unintelligible. I think the critics will maul it mercilessly. I just think it was a wasted opportunity.

When’s it end? was the though foremost in my mind. Utter navel gazing! Worse than Dimetos. On a par with the execrable The Cut. When the Donmar gets it wrong the don’t do half measures!

Alec, there were very few duds in the Divas seasons. Patti, Betty, Audra, Barbra Cook and Janie Dee! All excellent. Your favourite?

Littlesally, if you think the Donmar Company was well sung, it's no wonder you believe water springs out of a rock! Donmar Company? Not sure what your point is?

I'd love to see the justification for Frank's comment: "Overall it is undercast, poorly sung, badly directed, staged and lit", and westendwendy's subsequent complete agreement. Because I really, really, don't get it. It makes me think of the commenters on YouTube who are really negative about the singing in Sam Mendes' superlative production of Company from 1996 at the Donmar Warehouse. That was beautifully acted AND sung, and I found the same with Follies at the NT. The RAH concert semi-staged version had next to no acting, and was a disappointment for me from that point of view, despite the big name cast which had been persuaded to appear. Anyway, I would like to echo the sentiment above - well done to all the cast and crew of this production of Follies on the positive reviews. You deserve them. It is like a reverse Emperor's New Clothes. Which, by the way, PQ sang brilliantly at his Divas at the Donmar.

Have to say I absolutely loved this. I liked the glass box as it emphasised the isolation, even in the middle of all that long life! Performances superb all round. Much more humour than I'd expected too. And more than a few poignant moments.

Reading Greg Iles at the moment. Reminds me of early Grisham. Thanks littlesally, noted, may give him a go. In return, have you tried Mark Gimenez? Loved The Color of Law! Must read more!

We were in the really cheap gallery side seats. The sound was perfect. Having seen MCF twice and Broadway twice with CE I have to say this blew us away. Cynthia E is unique. And unparalleled. Which is why the different take we saw tonight worked so well for MW. She made the role her own and owned it. Having seen four Shug's now Rachel equalled Heather H. High paise indeed. For a concert this ticked every box and proved that there is s market for a full production in the WE.
Bring it on!

Seating is unreserved but you will be allocated a sat by the staff when you arrive. I don't think they take time of arrival into account. It is a lovely venue though.

I saw all four performances and she certainly deserved it, despite the competition being superb. She was also sublime as Hooley in City of Angels at Donmar.

Having seen the first preview which was frenetic and plagued by sound issues, we retuned for the final performance last night. It was stunning with great performances all round and the energy was off the scale.

At the first preview tonight, having seen and loved it on Broadway. Had forgotten how frenetic the first act was, not helped tonight by some sound problems. Friends who were new to it were unimpressed (probably due to the sound) but the ret of us were bowled over! Second act was much stronger.
Performances from all the leads were superb. Such a pleasure to finally see Donna M!!

The venue seems small, so the £25 ticket at the back must be ok? It is. And you're allowed to stand by the bar, which is much closer. Great venue.

I bought my tickets for Hamilton 16 months in advance. On browsing a twitter feed, it revealed part of the plot of the show. I am gobsmacked at the insensitivity of this. So I will now watch the show for the first time fully knowing what happens to one the the characters. Not happy at the moment. I had the exact same thing with Titanic. Completely ruined it for me???
