Just in from the show tonight and I had an absolute blast. So so funny. Can't recommend it enough. Much funnier than I expected. And the singing was great.

Yes I’m surprised this hasn’t happened sooner. It’s one thing to have a parody and a likeness but this definitely seems to be getting way bigger than was probably ever originally intended. Curious to see what happens.

I quite liked this tonight. Wasn't so sure after act one (especially on Cruella), but act two is much stronger. Lovely score from Douglas Hodge and a really enjoyable production.

When I went last month, I didn't get one in my basket initially, but it seems there was a second release around half an hour later and I got one midway back in the stalls.

First thoughts from tonight, second preview.
For the most part I liked it, although it is overly long letting out at 5 to 10 (7pm start). The music is overall strong, with a few standout numbers (I loved “If I Became You” and the title song, sung beautifully by Emily Tierney) - classic Styles and Drewe. The book though, particularly the last 15 minutes, needs major work, and the pace needs to lift massively. I don’t think they’d struggle to trim a good 15-20 minutes. The adult ensemble numbers in particular could easily go. I’m only familiar with the Lindsay Lohan film version and I didn’t think the characters seemed as well fleshed out as in that version, particularly the new wife to be ballet dancer.
Loved the scenic design, lots on screens with some physical set pieces too but it really looked lovely and sorted
Audience upstairs were pretty horrific. I’ve never had so much noise interference from crinkly wrappers - made worse by the fact that the playhouse sell popcorn in paper bags. This made it really difficult to hear at times. Lots of young kids who were getting very restless too.
With a much tighter book I think this could be great. Often with new musicals my biggest critique is of the score but I found that to be one of the best elements.

Managed to get tickets for the 26th oct, im surprised it didn't sell out, usually a hollywood name regardless of whom they are usually causes tickets to sell like hot cakes. Tell that to Amy Adams - tickets readily available for the entire run of Menagerie.

Oh gosh! That does seem long. We are going tomorrow and I thought we’d be on the road home no later than 9:30.

Hoping someone can help. I’m going to Nottingham tomorrow evening for “Identical” at 7pm but with the last train back at 9:58pm, I don’t think I’ll make it. Is there a car service anyone knows of or can recommend that I can use to get back or even any other way of travel? I appreciate any advice. Have you tried contacting the theatre for an estimated runtime? With it being aimed for a younger audience I'd doubt it would be longer than 2.5 hrs and that still gives you time to get to the station.

Just saw a preview on BBC, looks like fun. A quick check of the website shows it's selling pretty well. Shame it's just a two week run - I would have thought with the cast they have assembled they would have done another venue.

Operation Mincemeat seems to be teasing an announcement on their socials, I assume a West End run somewhere? Ambassadors perhaps? Nothing booked after Mad House.

Just managed to swap my Dress Circle tickets for a table for next Saturday at the same price. Very excited! The only downside? My “entry time” is now 6:15pm?! How strictly do they stick to these times? It seems very early for a 7:30pm start. It isn't strict at all. Can turn up whenever.

I saw the stage production in 2010 at the (now closed) Landor theatre. Must say I don't remember much about it at all.

They had tumblers of water laid out on the bar for us on the way out on Tuesday - was very grateful for it.

If I had a vote, I’d choose Rishi, but I think it will be Liz who wins. You do have a vote, tick the box above of your favourite candidate I mean a real vote 😂

The GL is busy until well into next year with Narnia and so forth. It would be nice to have Gershwin back in the West End for a limited run Could certainly be a shout for after Lehman though. I don’t think they’d rush a transfer.

Which transferred to the Novello. and closed fairly rapidly IIRC It did close earlier than planned, but managed 5 months. If it could do the same again would be very welcomed I'm sure. This production could fit very nicely into the Gillian Lynne.

I’d say this has next to no chance of a transfer.

Absolutely glorious! A very different book to the original London production, I don't recall all the changes from the original UK Tour which was the last time I saw it. The opening is definitely very different, and Take Me to Heaven is shortened.
Cast were incredible, part. Beverly is wonderful, very much reminded me of Patina Miller, brought a fantastic vocal flair. Jennifer clearly having a lot of fun, she lost pitch on the last little bit going into Spread the Love and she ad-libbed calling Bev pitchy and they almost lost it. Lizzie Bea totally owns Life I Never Lead and is wonderful. Keala and Lesley have some hilarious moments.
A great physical production too and it filled the stage of the Eventim, with no side masking which was nice when compared to other productions at the Dominion/ENO recently.
Still just a great fun show, the reaction at the end was ecstatic.

Well it’s definitely cooler than outside and I am getting a pleasant breeze. Still fairly warm though (understandable).

Dynamic Pricing has arrived! There's some amazing front stalls seats for £29.50 for the first three shows (Tonight, tomorrow and Thursday), and they go to £41 for this Friday/Saturday. I just got second row in the centre block for tonight!

Am I right in thinking this is likely to get NT Rush tickets available? I would imagine so. I got them for £20 through NT rush when it was playing at the Piccadilly (good seats in Dress Circle)

Finally saw today at the matinee having had a ticket in 2020 cancelled the day of due to the shutdown. Really enjoyed it, lots of fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. I enjoyed the music for the most part. Will see again in November if it’s still running.

Saw the transfer on Sat Eve. All about the performances, characters, music and lyrics in this very unflashy production. Everything was played perfectly. Was magical - can’t wait for a cast recording. A shame this is such a limited transfer - the audience lapped it up.
