I get to put up pictures of Hugh Jackman in gold trousers as legit research, so there's that. You mean people get paid to put up pictures of Hugh Jackman in gold trousers? Who knew? I've been doing it for nowt.

Because of the winds, I cancelled a visit I was going to make but I've sugar soaped the kitchen walls ready for the decorator and prepared a rehearsal schedule. Dunno which was more exciting!

I should have posted about this in the "unpopular opinion" thread, but clearly I am not the only one to dislike theses idents. What on earth is attraction of them? Presumably they were customer tested before being rolled out and I gather it is to do with "togetherness". Forgive me, but I don't want to be "together" with extreme swimmers thank you very much!

For some of the posts on here, some of you are surely going to hell...... Nope! This is the amnesty thread. We can say what we want and there's nothing anyone can do about it! (Just out of interest, who's headed down into the inferno Hulmeman?) Is it not written in scripture; "Thou shalt honour thy Sondheim and Webber" "There is only one Wicked and thou shalt honour and revere it." "Those who make graven idols of European theatre above that of the native land shall wither and perish on the vine" "Mixing modern fibres with that of the ancient master is an abomination" "Pay unto thy master the Rent which is due, even if it is a pile of boring, over blown poo". I'm only trying to save souls here people.

Forgive me for dragging this from the vaults, but your lives will be enriched by knowing:
First theatre experience - Mikki and Griff (go google youngsters)in Aladdin, Royalty Theatre, Chester First West End experience - Ken Dodd at the Palladium about 1965 First West End musical - Billy, Theatre Royal Drury Lane with Michael Crawford First amateur musical - The Desert Song and it brought a whole new meaning to the word amateur. First onstage experience - a washer woman in a school play. I redefined the word "scrubber" First musical movie - The Sound of Music First ballet - Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker First opera - Ellen Kent's Madama Butterfly - now don't be judgemental.

These twists are just a foil to manipulate the chosen ones to the final. They ought to call the winning band The Chosen. Oh how right you are BurlyBeaR. It struck me last night when they started to weed out people in the "vote off sing off"! As for theories about the ability to act, what's that got to do with it? These shows are about want. "I want to be in a west end show" and that is all it takes. These people (with a couple of exceptions) don't want to train for a couple of years in college, get to know the disciplines and techniques of performing - they just well, want! All that training is no substitute for singing round the house and entertaining me mams mates who say I've got "it". As for the promoters, well they just want to build an audience. Now I want to be Paul Schofield, so will someone please put on a tv show for middle aged men with grey hair to star in a west end revival of "A man for all seasons" please, 'cos I want, and I've done some acting before and me mam and her mates said I was good. Thank you.

My first post on here, hello! I used to post on the old Dress Circle board, if we knew each other there, please say hi! My day was a bit strange, my partners' car would not start this morning, so the AA were called, but his boss agreed to let him have the day off, which put my Monday routine out. I usually catch up on chores on Monday, but we spent part of the day sitting round reading after the car repair was done. I then "motivated" (ok nagged!) him to do some jobs around the house whilst I cleaned! Currently, I am watching The Halcyon on TV. How have I missed this so far? Part Downton, part Mr Selfridge and it has Kara Tointon in it!I need to catch up!!
