They, basically, nominated the entire cast of Falsettos, so maybe he just went by lol
Funny thing: Les Mis also only got Revival and a nom for its lead star lol

There seems to be an agreement of surprise over Mike Faist of Dear Evan Hansen getting into Featured Actor on other Boards, especially as he wasn't really in anyones predictions and not on the radar for one and it was such a packed catagory. But having seen videos of him in the show he is great and deserves it. Mainky happy to see Andrew and Brandon both nominated for Falsettos though in that catagory. I like when young people are recognized, but having seen Uranowitz, Steele and Rannells, he's - easily - the least worth of a nom of all 4.

The biggest surprise in the musical side was the nom for Mike Faist, wasn't expecting at all.

The revival of My Fair Lady is a given as I don't even know if there was a good one aside from the original production.

My bets are:
- Dear Evan Hansen wins Musical, Score, Actor and Featured Actress - Come From Away wins Book, maybe fight for Featured Actress - The Great Comet wins Featured Actor, Scenic Design, Costume Design and Direction.
Lighting and Orchestrations is a toss-up between DEH and Comet. Choreography without Dolly now seems to be bound to Comet.
- Hello, Dolly! wins Revival, Actress and may fight for Featured Actor
Play side:
- Oslo is winning play (or maybe Sweat) - Little Foxes vs Jitney in Revival - Linney vs. Metcalf for Actress - Kline has no competition in Actor - Featured Actor is a mess, I'm with DeVito now - Featured Actress is a bloodbath, between a repeat from Houdyshell and Nixon doing dual roles, I may end up with Joanna Day.
I have to believe that Set Design and Costume Design are bound to Little Foxes (Greendwood can't lost again, christ!), Direction may go to Sherr and Lighting no idea.

I've just seen and quite loved, there's nothing new, but I like the topic of the musical, it's not very often that they do these ''modern weird musical'' vibe on Broadway and the score is just too catchy.
While the whole plot with the school and project is ok, the entire thing with the two families, linked by a captivating lead character, really is touching and moving. The last 20 minutes of the second act made me cry like a young baby.
I'm obsessed with ''Waving Through a Window'', ''For Forever'' and ''Words Fail'', as you notice, I just can't stop love Mr. Ben Platt.
The cast is tremendous, but Platt and Bay Jones hit out of the park with their performances, it's just so perfect.

Well, Audra McDonald played Deena in a special and I don't think she sang badly.
Deena is supposedly to lov... to have a radio-friendly voice as has been already said, just like Diana Ross.

I saw on Monday because I couldn't miss the chance of seeing Willemijn Verkaik playing Elphaba. She's perfection, gosh!
I always had trouble with the beginning with the second Act in Wicked, as I have with some musics of the score, but it's still a very good show with amazing moments, as I almost cried in both Defying Gravity and For Good, two beautiful numbers that really excels everything else.
The cast was uniformly good, with Verkaik being completely amazing, she does own Elphaba in a way that almost makes the show a completely different things from the others that I have seen. Ms Mathers mannerisms are very Chenoweth-ish, may I'm wrong, dont know, but she was very good at her comic timing. Savile was great, really charming and embodies Fiyero in an attractive way lol, the actors playing Wizard and Madame Morrbiel were also great but don't know their names. The only weak link for me was McNicholas (I assume it was her) who did a really pale and not very convincing Nessa for me, some moments felt really flat, but maybe it was just a bad day.
Oh, ''No Good Deed'' was also amazing, thanks again to Ms Verkaik. Nevertheless, really enjoyed this current production in London.

It was, indeed, a BARGAIN! I mean, the view was too good to be a fiver!
And what to say about this musical? It's subersive genius, indeed. Minchin's score is brillant, I still think the staging is MARVELOUS as a whole and the entire cast was amazing. Emma Moore was the Matilda and killed, so did the entire adult cast, with a special shout out to the actor playing Mr. Wormwood that I didn't see the name.
It's that kind of musical that really plays tricks with your heart and gives you exciting situations after another and when we get to ''Revolting Children'' it's already too much and you just have to... smile, really really loved.

From the shows that I saw this was the one that I liked the least, but it was still a great (and different!) night of theater.
Maybe it was just my ''not love so much'' kinda of thing with jukebox musical or because even though they tried (and got it right with the changes in the story), in the middle of the musical there's something lacking to connect both parts, feels.. lost.
Aside from this, the production is fairly great as the orchestra was sensational, both leads are just beyond (Fairchild is the definition of dreamy and Cope is pure charisma) and I've never seen ballett dancing incorporated so beautiful in a musical before, so kudos for Mr. Wheedon for this. Mr. Oakley was good, but could be great, sometimes felt really off with the performance overall (accent included), but his last number was a winner, as for Seadon-Young it was a win for start, really ''in'' with Adam and really commanding presence.
It's a very estilized musical, that maybe some will found almost ''sterile'', but at the end of the day really hits you in the heart and it was a lovely night.

Half way the first act I was really thinking that the book of this musical was as thin as Naomi Campbell's waist in the 90's, but then during ''Dames'', Billy literally sangs ''but who cares if there's a plot or not, when they've got a lot of dames'' and you realize that the show is self-indulgent about this and has to enjoy the show as it is, and oh my, it's a hell of a show!
It's theatre as glamour in its best, the costumes, the stage, the incredible orchestra, the ENSEMBLE, I mean, just the definition of entertaining. The cast barely have real characters but they workd their a** off to bring you the best extravaganza experience possible and they don't fail at all. Clare Halse was a completely stand out, not only she's charming, charismatic and understands Peggy completely, she sure can tap!
It was an incredible night (in an amazing seat for 15 pounds lol) that really shows what musical theater is known for: escapism. I never wanted to end, just thrilling.

So, I really liked the play and, indeed, works best in theater, because the written material itself it's the problem.
The staging is quite clever (really good use of the dementors), the effects are amazing (for a theater) and the score is just amazing. And what makes theater good in most times is the cast and in this case, as I saw with the complete original one, it's wonderful.
Even the ones playing those new characters such as the children are so good that you just create a bond that you don't usually would be able with lesser actors on stage. Everybody does their best (maybe not Delphi's actress but good nevertheless, even though I expected Hermione to have more to do, and the standouts are clearly Jamie Parker and Anthony Boyle, the first gives all the emotional problems that the character needs and the latter just mix everything in a very unusually good style of acting that fits perfectly Scorpius, just amazing.
I will never understand the character development of Voldemort during the book with him being a... father, and that doesn't change in the play, but for the rest and with the entire thing, ''Cursed Child'' is a very good play that has been detracted by some for minor reasons (such as build everything for a travel time as if this was a real problem lol). It will be a major hit for years, that's for sure.

I would give Noma's Olivier to Flynn, I would keep Boyle's.
Was Best Actress the strongest category, right? Because Cherry Jones is a beast!
Also, funny that in New York, Quinto, who played Tom, was also left out while the other 3 got noms.

Scherzinger is too old, especially for theatre. Also, I disagree that they need stunt cast for this or that they think so, Wicked would sell good enough without a name, the movie Just need to be decent.
Rossum was a nobody when she did Phantom, course the movie was horrible, but no stunt cast needed. And Phantom was as big as Wicked is these days (also, as old).

Between this and HPotter, John Tiffany had quite a year, right? What a MARVELOUS production. I love Mr Williams' plays and this is no exception. All the characters are sooo damaged on their own way, with their lifes, choices, everything Just collides and thats tragic, but Very touching. Amanda is a hell of a character, right? And Cherry Jones is a pure delight to watch, she never miss a beat and her dialog at the begining of the Second act is to die for. I thought Mister Esper was Very Flamboyant even for Tom, but overall his performance was amazing. Brian J Smith is a hell of a man, and when he enters the stage, he brings such charisma, light that its impossible not to fall in love. And Kate O'Flynn, what an amazing actress, Just like Poots in Woolf, she Knows Just the right time to get her moments and almost made me cry when she decided to deliver you know what. Again, amazing production of a great play (I adored the Lake lol) with a perfect cast. I don't have a clue what she delivered, and I know this play inside out! :-) Which bit do you mean? I'm honestly bemused by the praise for this actress on here. I found her performance extremely mannered. Maybe deliver isnt the right word, but when she tries to convince Jim that wasnt a problem had broke the Glass unicorn and she delivered the speech that may or may not been about herself, when she gives the glass Horse to him was so touch and Beautiful for me.

A true spectacle. Nicholaw was born to do these big budget musicals and doesnt know let anything Down, its a really fast paced production of a great musical with a tremendous score. Also, what a set! I mean, the costumes were great, but the set was completely PERFECT, there were really great momentos for the staging of this show, congrats.
The cast was great, Asmeret was really on Fire tonight, the Curtis' actor was great and really hot, sometimes I felt Liisi was a bit OK but her rendition of Listen was Down right tremendous.J Bernard was also a standout.
But you know Amber Riley is running this From the moment that she steps on the stage. Charisma, determination, Shes funny, Sad, Shes everything and gives u the same. She had amazing moments but her performance of And I Am Telling is really the definition of a showstopper.
Its was worthy of every pence, congrats to everyone envolved.

Outstanding!
The direction is top-notch, It really didnt seems like a 3-hour play, the cast is amazing. Staunton is FEROCIOUS and I cried a little in that big scream, but Hill is on par with her, what a presence. Poots is perfect cast and Treadway was to die for (what an ass).
I Just couldnt have started this trip in a better way.
Also, 29 pounds to that N7 with a restricted view was a bargain, saw everything.
