War Paint winning is a real shot, but I'd be shocked if Bandstand wins, I don't even remember the last non-Best Musical nominee to win Choreography, but it's my runner up lol

I think Great Comet will win basically all the tech awards - scenic, light, orchestrations, costume and choreography.

While I like the score, it's easily the weakest one for me this year.

I guess Colella's nom was just a reward for the entire cast as they couldn't nominated everybody and she's the one with the biggest name, character, solo and wtv.
I really hope she doesn't win by Tony time.

I read a suggestion for Chenoweth for Madame Horrible in the movie adaption and wondered if any woman of her age ever played the role in any production, is this ever happened? Could she play the role or it HAS to be a 60-something woman to play the role?

I didn't even care for her when I watched, even to critic her performance, I know what guys said, but it's too much of a small part for me.

It's really hard to put screen acting in comparison to theater, it's literally two really different things, especially in this role.
Also, I met a woman at Glass Menagerie and she saw Uta Hagen doing this and for her, Taylor was all about scream, and while I disagree with her, I have to say that Imelda was a tour-de-force.

it's ridiculous that Nicole will be Elphaba in the MOVIE, it's not reality, she's too old.

The men's numbers are awful, Dinosaurs, really bad.
Forever Beautiful can't compare to Pink
The highlights are Fire and Ice, Face to Face and Pink.

So, I saw a bootleg of a try-out and was able to see the production itself while in NY. The show is good, ok, but could have been much better. The book is ok, kinda shallow. The songs are good, with Pink being a highlight.
LuPone is my dead last out of the nominees, her acting was good, but the accent is incredibly wrong. Ebersole shines, It's my first time seeing her and I can tell why she's a Broadway legend, AMAZING.

After see Miss Saigon. How did they snubbed Jon Jon Briones? and Eva is such an amazing actress/sing, I really believe she should win if Midler was not up for this award. And that first act is long as hell, 19 songs?!? But the score is amazing.

As far as Tony goes, Rachel has to win the direction Tony. It has to win scenic design, light design, costumes and orchestrations.
Benton is my first nominee, will see the others in the next days.
Steele is my fave from the featured actor (aside from Creel that won't see, I guess).

Ok, I watched The Great Comet yesterday and quite enjoyed, didn't know much, so I have to say it was a strange ride, but a good one.
The staging is incredible, so inventive and puts a lot of work for the actors, and I don't think the interactions were a problem, but there was a guy that was not having it lol. The light work, the costumes, everything made me feel back some centuries, really well done and thoughtful all around.
I didn't know about the (THIS MAYBE A SPOILER ABOUT THE SCORE) fact that they used EDM within the more ''classical'' songs and there was a part that I almost screamed because came out of nowhere lol, some of this edm really worked, some few quite didn't, but it wasn't a problem(END OF SPOILER ABOUT THE SCORE).
I liked that it was, basically, a operetta (?), with no talking at all. The cast was amazing, Malloy was there (and he's incredible with the role, no surprise), not Groban, but I was most impressed with Benton. I knew her for UnReal, but never knew she could sing to beautifully, and she's so believable as a fragile, innocent woman, really amazing acting.
Ashford's voice makes some lyrics difficult to understand, but she still retains a lot of love and compassion. Grey has an amazing solo and the ensemble is incredible.
The MVP, tho, was Lucas Steele. He does SO MUCH that is impossible to not be dazzled. He sings, he dances, plays a violin, hold notes for 20 seconds, it's funny, charming, also an a jerk and do all this climbing all those stairs. I mean, the ''Balaga'' moment is perfection for him.
I quite liked the book and have to agree that there isn't anything like this on Broadway. Really worth it!

Yes, apparently it's 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024. So, maybe 2030 for Cursed? Also, will the main actors do these roles again? I know they don't have to use Daniel, Emma and Rupert, but would be perfect and they would be almost the same age as the characters.

If West End found a place for Viva Forever!, then why can't Broadway handle Britney? It's a musical with her songs tho.

War Paint is doing money now, let's see what happens after the summer.

Creel is indeed overdue, I might be wrong about Steele after all. Poor Anatole! Think it will depend how much they like Comet. Danny Burstein was far more overdue than Creel last year (6 time nominee) but couldn't beat out first time nominee Leslie Odom Jr. Yeah, but Burstein was up against Hamilton. Steele is in a beloved show, but Creel is in one too, so, maybe the fact that he's in the industry for forever (his first nom was in 2002) will play a factor.

If this gets more time than Rocky then it's already a win for Three-time Nominee Andy Karl.

Platt and Midler are probably the most hyped performances on Broadway right now (alongside with Metcalf), so I don't think they will lose anything. Platt is also the heart of the show, he's everywhere.
Steele has a real amount of things to do in Comet and he's the best shot for a major award, so it's pretty safe.
Bay Jones has those 20 final minutes of DEH (So Big/So Small).... she's winning.

The thing with the cast of Falsettos is, it seems (correct me if I am wrong) Stephanie is the front runner in her category and I have heard a lot of buzz surrounding both Brandon and Andrew so potentially if Gavin Creel doesn't win, it could well be one of the two for that award as well! My impression from what I've heard is that Rachel Bay Jones is the front-runner in the Featured Actress category, although I think Stephanie's probably second in line. Actually, a win from anyone from Falsettos would be an upset. Bay Jones is, easily, the front-runner and Collela is the alternate (and she's campaigning hard for this Tony) Also, it's really Steele vs Creel in featured actor, and I steel believe that Comet will get this major award.
