I've actually changed out of a sleeveless dress into trousers & long sleeved blouse because it's so cold here & going to Royal Festival Hall tonight.

It was 10 degrees here up to about midday, maybe reaching 15 this afternoon if we're lucky. Perfect for me, I'd hate to be in France at the moment.

It's finally stopped raining, but I can't ever remember my breath condensing at the end of June!
Not very seasonal, but I went to a waste food cafe for luncheon and had a baked potato. 🥔

I'd describe today as pleasantly cool. Overcast (the forecast sunny intervals never turned up) with a northerly breeze If only all summer could be like this! I know, very few people will agree with me on that. Meanwhile the reports from the Continent & the forecast for Saturday just keep getting worse.

I totally agree with you on that! Although I'd go a step further and ask for the temperature to drop another 5 or 6 degrees before I would be happy with it.

I quite like the heat, the only issue for me is feeling sticky from all the sunscreen really rather hot today but I still walked miles, and then had a lovely meal sitting outside, it was glorious. Forecast for tomorrow is 31 degrees but feeling like 38...I've dealt with worse in the past!

So funny how varied the weather seems to have been today, my parents were saying it's boiling where they are and here I actually felt chilly in a t-shirt today and I love cold weather.

The heat hasn’t reached the north east yet - this week we’ve had cloud, rain, a bit of thunder. Some sunshine broke through today and expecting temperatures of 22 degrees on the weekend!

There are a number of rather pink individuals roaming about which confirms the arrival of English summer. The exposing of shoulders seems to be an absolute must. I appear to have 'caught the sun' as my family used to say on my forearms which resemble over ripe rhubarb.
On the plus side Wimbledon starts next week so it will be raining for a fortnight.

Pleased to find that Sadler's Wells' air con feels as though it's working nicely & London itself isn't too bad this evening. Unfortunately my plan to avoid the tube & walk was scuppered by my train managing to arrive 20 mins late, despite leaving on time, so I've just had a short & expensive sauna on the Northern line.

When I got to work at 7 this morning the radiators in the office were on! In the building we were working in today it was nice and cool but I've just left and it's actually rather warm.

I appear to have 'caught the sun' as my family used to say I absolutely despise it when people say that to me. My family used to do it all the time. Yes, there's brilliant sunshine, I've been out in it for too long, and now I'm suffering both pain from the burn and intense embarrassment from the fact that I look like a strawberry. All this is obvious. What do they think will be gained by mentioning it, apart from giving me a reason to glass them?
Tomorrow looks horrendous. My plans for the day include parking my car somewhere where there's no shade for a couple of hours, right when the sun's at its highest. I anticipate handling the steering wheel like one of those desert lizards that stands on alternate pairs of feet to avoid getting burnt by the sand.

Tomorrow looks horrendous. Doesn't it just. Every time I look at the Met Office website the forecast has got worse. Now 33 in Cambridge tomorrow & 34 in London. I don't quite get how the temperature can suddenly go up by almost 10 degrees from one day to the next & then back down 10 degrees the day after. Although thank goodness it is due to drop: if it was staying up there I'd be on the first train to Scotland.

We mustn't forget that today is Armed Forces Day. Imagine having to march in full uniform? I was at the parade in Doncaster and was very impressed with the way the 'ranks' are now looked after. I suspect it wasn't always that way.
All I have to do now is get back home. Although delayed, at least my train is still running. Half of those running to other destinations have been cancelled. Either the trains have failed, or the infrastructure has!

I think we're about 10C below you here. It still feels too sultry to me! Yes but it's got to be better than down here! I've spent all day sitting indoors with the curtains drawn on the appropriate sides of the house & drunk goodness knows how much water but still have a headache. Due to still be 23 degrees at midnight so not anticipating getting much sleep. Damn you heat!
