Most amazing were some young visitors I know who went to Red 10 days or so ago and who was in the audience leading the ovation at the end but Eddie Redmayne, the original co-star here and in NYC

Add Lesley Joseph as his plus one, keeping a rather lower profile. They both seem to be enjoying it, Biggins especially.

Person next to me at the Royal Exchange said 'Johnny Vegas!' though if it was he was looking very dapper.

Simon Russell Beale outside the Old Vic as I walked past, presumably going in to the 5.30 performance (I went to the 7).

George Blagden, Samuel Barnett, Mark Anderson, Lauren Samuels, Tori Amos all at the Light Princess last night. Saw a few other faces that I recognised but I couldn't quite place them.

George Blagden, Samuel Barnett, Mark Anderson, Lauren Samuels, Tori Amos all at the Light Princess last night. Saw a few other faces that I recognised but I couldn't quite place them. Ah I thought it was Mark Anderson I was walking behind as I walked from Victoria to Sloane Square but I didn’t fully see his face to know for sure. I assumed if it was him he was also on his way to Cadogan Hall but I didn’t see him inside.

He walked past me a few times in the venue and I ended up stood near him for a little bit when he was talking to Mark Shenton whilst I was waiting for a friend

I'm hopeless at recognising people. The only one I've ever spotted was Angela Bassett at Memphis - and that was just because she was sitting in front of me, and FOH came to speak to her with a message during the interval; only later, through Twitter, did I see who it was when a photo of her backstage with the cast appeared.
The fact that I usually go to midweek matinees could have something to do with it! You rarely get 'celebs' at those.

Ok so not in a theatre, but exciting enough to share...Kylie on my flight home last night (and waiting for her suitcases like a person!)
Also Debra Messing at The Boys in the Band last week.
Also, in a highly surreal turn of events I got recognised twice at Angels last week (no not by a “Most Wanted” sign @theatremonkey )

Alison Steadman in the Cottage Kitchen next to The Park tonight. I presume she was seeing the play. I was one table away and could hear all the conversation until other louder people came and sat between. Annoying.

Children's author Jaqueline Wilson at Fun Home last night. Spotted her over in the little Bookshop Theatre opposite before the show and wondered if she'd be attending... Turned out she was actually sitting in the seat directly behind me!

Was returning a ticket at the main NT box office and the guy at the desk was simultaneously serving me and checking if people behind me were there for An Octoroon and if so directing them to the Dorfman.
After he’d done it a few times he had a bit of a shocked expression and (once the customer behind me had left the foyer) said “THAT WAS GILLIAN ANDERSON!!!”
Have to admit I then went to check and Scully was indeed in the Dorfman ticket collection queue

It is obviously taking all my resolve not to hunt her down.

The best thing about the incident was that the box office guy was so happy he waived the ticket return fee

It is obviously taking all my resolve not to hunt her down I'm sure she feels the same about you, @emicardiff ... She loves me she just doesn't know it (thus has been my mantra for about 20 years)

“THAT WAS GILLIAN ANDERSON!!!” Was that Saturday afternoon? There was someone I thought looked familiar in the interval - it would make it (with The One) a double Miss Havisham and Bleak House John Jarndyce day if so...
