Not a spot in a theatre but on my way to Warren Street Station this afternoon I saw Glenn Carter and April Pearson (Michelle from skins) walking arm in arm down Tottenham Court Road. Thought it was a bit of an odd pairing but apparently they're in a play together.

Not strictly theatre, but theatre crowd - Dame Joan Collins and Percy came into Joe Allen's while i was dining there with a friend on Friday night...she just glided in, all glamorous and fabulous.
Guess she said to Percy that she was exhausted from a day of sitting being sculpted and she wasn't in the mood to cook their dinner.

Tony Robinson (and TV crew) trying to keep a low profile on Waterloo Bridge a few minutes ago.
(on my way to the theatre)
Didn’t look like an easy place to film with school parties and tours being led across the bridge.

I saw an actress at the NT the other night who I know I've seen in stuff and loved, but for some reason I'm spacing on her name and what I've seen her in. Perhaps the combined wisdom of TheatreBoard could help? She's a redhead and basically looks exactly like Katherine Parkinson's big sister. Not famous but devoted theatre-goers might know her? It's driving me crazy!

Bit late but when I saw Grief is the Thing with Feathers in Dublin a month ago, I saw Domhnall Gleeson and he walked straight past me.

I've made a drinking game from this thread. Whenever someone mentions a name I've never heard of, I get a drink. But some of you have really ruined it by mentioning a familiar name. Stop That!!!

Not a play, but still: Frances McDormand and her laureled husband Joel Coen at the all-Sibelius concert at the LSO on Thursday, in the company of the conductor Michael Tilson Thomas's husband, Joshua. Also there: Leslie Caron.

Billie Piper at the Royal Court this evening seeing Instructions For Correct Assembly. Well she was at the bar any way. More likely she was at The Prudes, assuming she's still friendly with Jonjo O'Neill from when they did The Effect together.

At the Bridge Theatre last night for 'My Name is Laura Linney', there was David Morrissey wearing a suit. Nice to see someone dressing up for the theatre.
And Sara Kestelman. I stepped aside to let her pass. She didn't say 'thank you'. I won't do that again.

Helen Mirren walking over the bridge to The Bridge (and getting stopped by a guy with a kid for a photo - ‘you’re that famous actress!’). She definitely entered the foyer but we didn’t actually spot her in the audience before the show started (we were in the side gallery 2 so possible she was beneath us).

She definitely entered the foyer but we didn’t actually spot her in the audience before the show started (we were in the side gallery 2 so possible she was beneath us). Please tell me this was the evening performance. I had a ticket for this afternoon's performance which I couldn't use because I had to cancel my trip to London for health-related reasons, and the thought that, in addition to missing the play, I had missed seeing Helen Mirren would break my heart into even tinier pieces than it's in already. On a more positive note, the Bridge was surprisingly accommodating about the cancellation. I emailed to tell them I couldn't use the ticket, just so they would know they could resell it and not leave an empty seat. They replied by saying that, after deducting a £2 exchange fee, they were crediting the balance of the ticket price to my account, so I can use it against the price of another ticket at the Bridge. Now I just have to hope there's something I want to see playing at the Bridge the next time I'm in London.

David Walliams swanning into the Wyndhams late with an airy "oh you can re-open the doors for MEEEEEEEE." I can't complain because my partner was also late and managed to swerve the no latecomers policy by sneaking in behind La Walliams.

Rupert Graves at Heathers on Wednesday Oh how lovely. Rupert Graves has aged so well, he's such a silver fox nowadays. And it's nice to know just what Tom Daley will look like in about 30 years.
