Why the panic? It's only presale for a recording that isn't coming out for months and there will be plenty to go around

The presale link sent this morning for people to rder tickets for Broadway crashed. They are now saying the presale will begin tomorrow. Seatgeek is THE WORST....
The album will be able to be downloaded directly too so no worries about that. It will get sorted but its a bit of a mess.

I still love that they’ve at least done a coloured version. I just need a link and I’ll be buying.

Yep, nice to see there’s a red vinyl, would’ve been ridiculous for them not to press it in that format!
Was hoping for a signed CD but will be happy with the limited edition one - assuming they manage to go live for pre-orders at some point. Hoping for tomorrow alongside the rescheduled Broadway presale but we shall see…

So just for clarity, are people who saw the show at the Savoy NOT getting access to preorder the recording now? It’s only for people buying Broadway tickets?

So just for clarity, are people who saw the show at the Savoy NOT getting access to preorder the recording now? It’s only for people buying Broadway tickets? The original posts on social media implied both would get early access (presumably at the same time) - Broadway presale purchasers alongside their tickets (an add-on option I guess) and London audiences too, although I’ve not received any email about that just yet. All we can do is keep checking our inboxes and the show’s socials…

So just for clarity, are people who saw the show at the Savoy NOT getting access to preorder the recording now? It’s only for people buying Broadway tickets? The presale today did work for a bit, there are several people on twitter and instagram who say they did get tickets before it all collapsed- I did get to the point of purchase for 28th September but can’t go then so abandoned the date and got booted out 😞 and surely ATG or Jamie Lloyd didn’t know it was going to breakdown and cease functioning so should have been ready with the London audience notifications alas nothing so I don’t feel hopeful. Also multiple people have asked how the London audience can register/ will be notified but it has not ever been responded to 😭 I saw the show 16 times so I feel pretty confident ATG have my contact details 🤣

Why tf give album access to Broadway audiences ahead of those of us who invested heavily in the London version?

Why tf give album access to Broadway audiences ahead of those of us who invested heavily in the London version? Also the marketing approach on Broadway may be very different from the West End. (I didn't see this production) but have been reliably informed that it was weeks into its run before any souvenir brochures or programmes were available to purchase. To be honest, the recordings should have been available to purchase at the theatre during the run. Releasing them after the show has ended is too late- the horse has bolted, so to speak. So from a marketing perspective they'll rectify what we go wrong here.

There were definitely standard programmes available from the start, but you’re right, the souvenir brochure didn’t appear until much later and then was only sporadically available.
Completely agree, depending when the cast recording was finished and ready to go, it seems somewhat foolish not to have had it available to sell at the theatre (and ideally online too) given the hype this show had achieved by the end of its run.

They told people enquiring that there wouldn’t be a cast recording to begin with I think. chernjam might remember. In which case it was only decided after seeing pressure on social media, including from our members directly contacting them. Power to the people etc ✊🏻

Why tf give album access to Broadway audiences ahead of those of us who invested heavily in the London version? How much did you “invest”? As an audience member probably over £1k. Hence access to the album as soon as it is available would be appreciated, as I am unlikely to visit NYC any time soon. EDIT - added up the cost was around £2k including gifted tickets to others. Enough to justify a whinge about a £15 album, surely?

I think telecharge is great myself. Ticketmaster however is dreadful. At least with the former you can see exactly what seats are on sale clearly. They've made it very hard to see an overview of prices - you have to zoom in so much that by the time you can see the price you can't see the rest of the seating plan. DMT/Nimax/LWT and EVEN the evil ATG you get a clearly colour coded easy to see and navigate (both zoomed out or in) full seating plan with prices obvious. Not sure any of the Broadway ones are as good. I have found them all pretty clunky!

Literally anyone who's paid for a ticket will have 'invested' in the show... to the producers we are just paying customers some who have dropped more money than others. I've seen the show more times than I ever planned, but don't expect nor feel entitled to any special treatment!
Plus, any Broadway audience member planning several return visits will become $1k+ investors in no time lol

I think if you spend money on something you’ve absolutely invested in it. I know that INVESTING in a show has other connotations for some.

Very strange definition of “investing”. I think if you spend money on something you’ve absolutely invested in it. I know that INVESTING in a show has other connotations for some. It's interesting though that people feel they are owed something because they spent money on a show. It's a commercial enterprise, I've probably spent a thousand pounds at McDonalds but I don't feel like they owe me anything, I'm not going to get annoyed if someone that isn't me has access to something ahead of me. Maybe there is a relationship I haven't experienced between commercial theatre producers and patrons, but I personally don't feel like I'm owed anything by them.
