I saw understudy Stijn Proesmans as Judas and I thought he was great in the role. Many reviews have called out the lead Judas as the weak link of this cast so I feel like I dodged a bullet there.

Interesting! I have no idea if this show will work in the UK but I'm happy we're going to find out. I'm glad they went for a new translation.
Now this is pure speculation on my part, but former West End Elphaba Willemijn Verkaik, who is currently playing Mrs Danvers in the Vienna revival of Rebecca, recently flew to London for a day. I wonder if that had anything to do with this?

The upcoming Dutch tour will be a new production directed by Schele Williams, who was in the original Broadway production of Aida. The casting call specifically asked for people of colour from all cultural backgrounds, so I'm not sure if we'll be seeing a blonde Amneris in this updated version of the show.

They don’t have the room at the Coli With a seating capacity of 2,359, the London Coliseum houses the largest auditorium in the West End, hosting many spectacular productions on its huge 80ft wide stage. I also don't see the above comment when you know how big the Coliseum is. The Vivian Beaumont Theater has a thrust stage so the Broadway production was designed for a completely different stage configuration than the Coliseum. The US tour set was designed to play in regular proscenium theatres. Same thing happened with The King and I which also premiered at the Beaumont.

Perhaps slightly off-topic, but Willemijn Verkaik is currently playing Beverley and others in a Dutch non-replica production of Come From Away
With Rachel in New York, Alice in London, and Willemijn in the Netherlands, that is all three 2017 lead Elphabas currently playing the same role in different parts of the world lol

You'd think that Willemijn is the only MT performer they have, huh? I can't wait for her to be Alexander Hamilton and Evan Hansen when the shows get international licenses. What makes you say that? This is only her second big role in The Netherlands after Wicked closed in 2013, and her third overall. She mostly works in Germany.

Bumping this thread to say Vajèn van den Bosch (previously Sandy in Grease) has been cast as Gloria. They literally could not have picked a whiter person for the role so this production seems to be off to a great start...

Lets also keep in mind that it's Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fundraising season so there would have been a curtain call speech regardless of Pence being there anyway. With the company being led by an openly HIV positive gay man, the cast might as well acknowledge the elephant in the room and call Pence out considering his stance on the lgbt+ community and HIV/AIDS treatment.

I really enjoyed this when the US tour came through Amsterdam. I thought the circus elements added a lot and the show was very well directed in general. The level of acrobatics could be higher, but it was the final stop of the tour and I'm pretty sure the Broadway production had more of that anyway.
Cynthia Erivo recently said she'd like to do this show. She would make a great Leading Player!
