I want to catch a double show day where Amy does one Glinda and one Elphaba show. The dream. This would just be the ultimate dream!! Praying to the Wicked gods that this happens! Or that someone high up on the tour reads this and MAKES IT HAPPEN!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Sadly I think it unlikely - given that she's "bottom cover" for both roles, the only situation in which I can envisage her getting a crack at both in the same day is if she, for example, gets a scheduled matinee as Glinda, and then has to go on as Elphaba in the evening due to illness to the other three.

To update on the above, being released in January, apparently I swear this show just gets better every time I see it. I reckon about 80% full tonight, on three levels. The tap is just exquisite. How on earth so many of them keep exactly in time to the millisecond blows my mind. I don't think there's a single weak link in the cast. Oh wait, I forgot about Chris Howell. He's just...so. Not. Funny. There's nothing wrong with not being funny (I'm an absolute comedian, naturally) but for goodness sake if you're not funny, don't try to be. I swear, he p*sses me off about as much as Kevin Bacon in them EE adverts. I.e. a lot. Anyway, it's a cracking show, if you haven't seen it yet...what is wrong with you. Just go. Go meet those dancing feet, down the avenue I'm taking you to. Like now. I had row B in the stalls for £25 via TodayTix. Absolute bargain. Happy days. 4.9 stars (I've deducted 0.1 for Chris Howell)

Earwigging a conversation between two ushers during the interval - cast change is Feb/March, and they're currently making a cast recording in the studio! Exciting times.

Not bad behaviour but last night I was sitting behind a chap with the most enormous head I have ever seen. He was tall too, which didn't help (curse non-raked seating) but his head was simply gigantic. That sounds like me...you weren't at The Exorcist were you?

I can’t wait to see what it is like when they add the hydraulic set to “Let It Go” at the end of act 1! Do tell us more!

Yes he was on tonight, and gave the speech at the end to collect money on the way out. Oh we had a speech for money collections last night (Tuesday) at Sunset (MCR) too. they'll be happening all over the country, every venue should be doing them. Slightly off-topic ramble but for those who aren't aware, for two weeks every October, theatres nationwide do bucket collections for the charity Acting For Others, supporting theatre professionals on- and off-stage who have come into times of hardship. At The Exorcist tonight...as the auditorium went to the sudden black out as the show starts, a chap in the front stalls gets his phone out and lit the place up like the Blackpool illuminations*
What followed was something I've never witnessed in the West End before:
"PUT THAT AWAY!" "TURN YOUR PHONE OFF!"
A good 3 or 4 people piped up and near enough told him where to stick it. This made me very happy inside and totally made my evening, and a lovely change from all of us just sitting there tutting and eye rolling.
*possible slight exaggeration for artistic effect.

Why is this in the Musicals section when she has never even performed on a musical stage? If Kristin Chenoweth's concert can't be put here, I don't see why Ruth's has any place on this section to be honest. Would you allow a Marisha concert to be in this section?

Yes it's touring again, and from what I've heard the Palace will be getting it for much longer than 12 weeks. All still tbc, of course. Also cheesy116, not wanting to sound patronising, but do be mindful of what you post on these boards with regards to "insider knowledge" and future shows - they are read by senior industry people and I wouldn't want you to get yourself or anyone else in trouble

sorry yes I should've expanded on my earlier post...it is in fact a limited International tour, playing at Edinburgh Playhouse, Cardiff WMC and Dublin Bord Gais only Oh that's awesome news ...... so is it two UK dates and an Irish dates being added to the international tour schedule or is it just a tour of three venues sorry @theatrefan01 I was joking - following @theatremonkey's earlier post about Wales being "international" Baz mentioned a potential international tour, and through my sources I've heard of a potential UK tour...that's about as official as it gets for now I'm afraid. As soon as anything more concrete comes to light, I'm sure it'll be on this thread in a flash

I mean, I know it counts as another planet when @emicardiff is around, but otherwise? sorry yes I should've expanded on my earlier post...it is in fact a limited International tour, playing at Edinburgh Playhouse, Cardiff WMC and Dublin Bord Gais only

I'm hearing murmurings that a UK tour is also being planned for after the Palladium run.

Apols if been asked before but is stage left (A0/A1) or is stage right the best option? I preferred stage left/house right for view, and stage right/house left for legroom, but really they're both excellent. I'm surprised Theatre Board doesn't sponsor the seats, given how frequently us lot are sat in them!

I know that Nativity! is a very child friendly musical but that really doesn't mean that we needed to hear crying toddlers/young children. There were a few in the audience it would have been better without them (I'm sure some were well behaved though). It was really annoying in the second half when a child keep crying "mummy" and it took said mummy ages to get the child out of the auditorium. At one point Mr Poppy says they've lost the baby and he asks the audience if anyone has one they can borrow and he added "I did hear one a few times earlier" which I thought was a nice added extra since it was really annoying. There was also seemed to be an enormous amount of traffic in and out of the auditorium during the performance. i noticed this on Friday too - I do try to increase my tolerance level at family shows, but it really was awful. An actual crying baby - what ever happened to no babes in arms?!
