Pretty much all new faces though it's interesting that Karen Mav is no longer playing Sofia but is alternate Celie with then just an ensemble track the rest of the time.

Actually come to think of it, don't countries have to have a place confirmed already each yer in case they win? Because when a country wins don't they always say "see you in x city next year" ect? So did we not have one already penciled in somewhere?

Liverpool would be my choice, I think it's a great place for it, the only downside is that the arena is quite small in capacity compared to some of the other cities venues. However it's a great city, looks great, has lot's of culture with many nods to music history and the location of the arena is stunning. I'd be very happy for it to go there.

Liverpool would be nice. Birmingham just had the CWG and hosted it last time it was here, so I don't think it's their shot.
I'm going to say it's probably going to be Manchester but I think Liverpool would be nice for it.
Newcastle also a nice option, but it's a shame because they have a great new arena being built in a great location but it's not due to open until 2024, so would have to go in the existing arena.

I'd like them not to mess too much with the very first UK production of Newsies. It's one thing to go down different routes with revivals of shows we've had multiple times already and try something new and fresh with casting then, great, do it, but I'd really rather something like this was done completely traditionally to begin with.

I think this starts rehearsals next week and we still haven't had a cast announcement, leaving it a bit late! Though I guess that rules out any star casting as they would have used that to help ticket sales (which I imagine are a bit challenging).
I know a lot of the previous cast are busy doing other things so I imagine we will be mostly getting new faces, I don't suppose anyone has heard or seen anything?

I think it could be Maiya. I was going to see the show this week but i think I might hold off until I'm next in London in October after cast change... Nope Oh, maybe the suggestion above about the current cover Satine then I guess.

The clue is in the name really, nobody is being forced to go there and work for free. People who want to do it and be a part of it will make their own decision to do it and that's up to them and the company is being perfectly honest and open. Not seeing any issue.

For the exposure and attention it gives around the the word it really should be an impressive city and arena it's held in. I imagine the powers that be will want to show they aren't London focused and so they won't give it to London but they really should because it's impressive and culturally known plus has impressive venues like the o2. There are many cities I'd really not want to represent us on a world stage and have images of beamed around the world to be quite honest. I can’t believe I’ve just read this, to be quite honest . I could respond, but I won’t trouble myself I'm sure it's not that hard to believe. What I would find more unbelievable is if you genuinely thought all our cities were fantastic and stunning and you would be proud to showcase them to the rest of the world? I thought not.

I often find that theatre shows need lights so we can see what's happening on stage, but maybe that's just me. There was quite a lot of lights in the last production of 4nd Street and I think that's quite helpful.

Not Jamie, i agree, but I think Six is, it might not be the best bit of theatre ever but it's uniqueness, impact and success on both sides of the Atlantic (and around the world) I think makes it a classic.

There seems to be some drama around a critics comments about Courtney in a review? Does anyone know who the critic is that is under fire?

You know the shows you literally forget are on still? Yeh, this one. I haven't seen it yet but now I've remembered it's a thing I'll hopefully try and see it before it ends, whenever that is.

I'm fed up of these concerts, just put the bloody full show on. Concerts might have been great when we were struggling yo put on shows because of covid but we are back into the swing now so I just find all these concert announcements annoying now.

It strikes me as somewhat unfair when you think about it that generally there are only awards for the originators of roles in theatre. Someone could take over a role in the west end (or anywhere) and give an iconic performance for the ages and not even get any recognition. I think it's the case that there is an award for them in america right? I seem to remember so. It would be nice to have a category in at least one of the major award ceremonies over here.

I find all areas perfectly good, I usually sit in the last few rows at the back of the stalls which i find to be excellent and doesn't feel far away to me at all. It's a shallow theatre. I've not sat in the circle many times but from when I did I found that to be good too even towards the bacK. In this day and age of ticket prices I'd hardly say top price tickets of £50 is particularly high and you can get perfectly good seats for £30. It’s all relative and personal I guess but to me personally £50 ticket is a lot of money I’m a front line Nhs worker that’s £100 for me and my partner esp with the cost of living going up fuel etc too Don’t get me wrong for special events etc of course I’d pay more but for regular shows I’d be down to theatre once every 2 months which would be 😱😱😱😩🥺😢 If I didn’t get the deals and stand by tickets my theatre going days would be extremely rare which would be very sad as it’s my escapism from being around so much death and sadness each day …. Theatre 🎭 is my great love and passion London can demand higher ticket prices I get that ad always use. To be bigger productions and stars ⭐️ seems les. If that now though . Tbh I’ve seen same productions in London sometimes cheaper than my local theatre 😉🤪 I managed to see little voice at a quite local theatre last week on day seats for £12 …. They were charging £37 +booking theatre on sat eve less than half full such a shame But sadly many of us regular people are being out priced 😞 Saw another show there few months back now too price was £47. I went on Thursday eve got day seat yay 😃 £10 I counted 80 —100 people in a 800 seat theatre was so sad If you are going on your own then the first 3 or 4 performances are previews and all seats are below £22, though only single seats are left i think. Other than that, as I've said, the cheaper seats at the back of the stalls or dress circle are perfectly fine and what I actually choose. They do the very cheapest seats in kind of slips at the side and I've never sat there but it would be quite a side on view I guess but the stage is usually very open for their own productions so might still be a decent view.

I wouldn't go for the meet & greets anyway, I don't care about that at all really. It's the other things that interest me. Conventions are more than just about going to have a picture with your fave. It's a whole experience and event. If I go I'd just have a nice time looking around all the stalls and popping into some of the performances and q&a's or whatever. Yes you can have all the fangirls but for many it would be just a casual stagey afternoon.

I'm not sure why some folks are acting like they are trying to make money out of stage dooring. It's a whole convention. There will be performances, workshops, Interviews, stalls....all sorts.
There are conventions for all sorts of things, it's a pretty normal thing, I'm not quite sure why one for theatre is getting such a negative reaction.

It's about time we had something like this. Remember several years ago when one was announced and fell through? I think it was a con from the off and they still have my money!
Anyway this sounds good, has the backing of loads of stars and the ticket prices are so reasonable!!
