All the other main players were present and correct three weeks ago. Who else has jumped ship?

Still no word on Twitter. People not happy. They surely know by now whether she is fit to appear.

And very rum that he's still being advertised as being in the show, so some people are presumably booking to see him.
I wouldn't have recognized him if I fell over him so came out when we saw it convinced we had seen him until a quick Twitter check said 'no'.

Got Cymbeline and Lear, both £55. Lear was selling out quickly for some dates when we went in yesterday.

Bit odd that they aren't offering exchanges. I love how self righteous people get about this though. Whilst I'd be livid if it happened to me ( Martine! I may forget; I'll never forgive) I do think I could understand, and hope to rebook. People get ill, deal with it. Martine was quite a different issue. She should never have committed to a show in the first place. In the case of Sunset I do like Ria and glad she has had her moment, although I might have been disappointed if I had geared up to see Glenn rather than the show.

I use Letterboxd but you have to review films or set up lists in order to generate discussion. I find them a friendly bunch over there though.

Where is everybody getting these 19.50 stall tickets? Annoying for those of us who paid a lot more when this was announced. I think this will be the last time I support a big show by shelling out a significant amount.

It is set in the 1950s. I think the casting is period specific.

Just a quick nod for the gender swap Shrew running at Above The Arts Theatre until the 1st May.
Doesn't completely come off but it is well done and quite thought provoking.
Very hot staging space though.

I've just come back from this. Both my husband and myself have experience of dementia and Alzheimer's. It brought back deep seated memories for him and I was in tears at the end.
Kenneth Cranham was superb and so were all three ladies in the cast. The other two gents had less to do but a solid ensemble all round and a truly devastating piece of theatre which will stay with me for a long time.

This show has puzzled me from the moment it was announced to be coming to the West End. I have never seen the movie, heard the music... literally know nothing about it. But is there going to be much of an audience for this?
Like, it is not one of those shows you hear about a lot, so I really don't know how to feel about it. Well, there are two magnificent movie versions ... and as others have said, this is a classic musical for many reasons. I am delighted to be able to have the chance to see a stage production at last. As for audio recordings, has anything surpassed the almost complete version which featured the late Jerry Hadley yet?

And you paid top whack for the front row?
This is my sixth Sunset. I think with Aspects it is ALW's greatest work but then I love the original film as well.
Dammit Glennis you made me cry in both your big numbers. That is A Star.
Fred was an excellent Max I thought. And although I still rate Joe by John Barrowman this one was on the money.

It's the interval. Despite feeling a long way away Glenn is fantastic. Not sure of the staging or that dummy. Young Norma rather touching in both appearances so far.

Someone attempted to take a bottle of wine into War of the Worlds this afternoon. To be fair, they had read the reviews before they went, but after they'd bought the tickets... Nah, I had a great time without the need for wine.

Given her resemblance to Cpt Terri Dennis noted above, Glennis is a most appropriate name

We're going Friday night. Despite the dubious look of Glenn's wig, I am expecting this to be a very good experience indeed.

Simon Shorten was on again today - he's fabulous!
I really liked this. Great score, big on spectacle, and a joy to see Jeff Wayne conducting proceedings.
I would replace Jimmy Nail though - terrible actor - remove the flying ghost and cut down on the screen drops to accommodate Liam Neeson's narration.
It is very hot on the front row with all the frequent flames and there is also a foul smell from the smoke which spills into the stalls in Act Two.
Edit: forget to mention thumbs up for Michael Praed and David Essex!

I'm a higher level of member than the £34 and I didn't get the code either ... a bit of a rum do but then as I wasn't that bothered about seeing the show, it doesn't matter ...

Other Pleasures, the song sung by the character George in Aspects of Love Which is one of the high points of an excellent score.

I just booked my ticket using the lowest level "Friends" priority. There was almost the entire house to chose from, so I doubt very much there will be a shortage of tickets when public booking opens. Usual "Old Vic" price breaks too, bit more expensive with top at £67.50, premium £90, but at least there are some really good non-premium stalls going. The usual £21 and £16 stalls and dress circle stuff is all there as well. Re Old Vic membership. I joined and they sent me a card but how do you get to know about priority periods? I haven't had one email from them yet. Thanks.
