Really enjoyed the new cast on Tuesday, too. I feel this will be a very strong cast once everyone has settled in. Having said that I love David Thaxton's Javert so kind of wish he was staying on (thought Lee van Geelan was good especially considering he went on at really short notice). At the same time I am looking forward to seeing Bradley Jaden. Have decided I'm definitely not keen on Sam Edwards' wig. Still love Vivien Parry's Madame Thenardier. I've written down some brief throughts on the new cast in my blog. confessionsofatheatregirl.com/2018/06/14/les-miserables-london/

Someone munching their way through what sounded like a bag of crisps during the whole of “I dreamed a dream” at Les Mis last night. Not even seated close enough so I could see them - the amount of noise that person managed to produce with their snack was quite impressive.

Lee van Geelan was on as Javert tonight (as far as I know he will also do tomorrow’s shows).

I was there. Very biased but I love Dean’s Valjean. Such a detailed performance already. He needs to settle into the role a bit more to develope his portrayal to the fullest but it was a very strong performance from the get go. I really enjoyed Cosette and Eponine. And I thought Vivien Parry was a highlight as Madame Thenardier.
Obviously lots of friends and family in last night so the atmosphere in the audience was extra appreciative - lots of cheering and an instant standing ovation.
Going again tonight. :-)

Does anyone know the seating capacity for the cabaret venue? I'm just curious how many seats there are. It looks and sounds like it could be similar to The Other Palace studio space? I think it’s about 70 seats.

will all of the new ones stay for a year or will there be another Castchange in january like some times before? Don’t know about the others but Dean Chisnall is contracted for a year.

One of the girls posted an instastory of the whole cast pictures and parts and it says Enjolras tbc. Odd to start rehearsals without one...... They really haven't contracted an Enjolras yet.

I've always wanted to see Adam as JVJ, although he isn't advertised as an alternative, am I right in saying he does do one show a week? If so does anyone know which it normally is. It’ll be Monday evening. Dean is doing the show on June 11th though (he will have another day off that week).

Finally! :-) Couldn’t be happier for Dean. I’m biased but I honestly think he will be an absolutely brilliant Valjean.

God I hope they announce this cast change soon. It was supposed to happen today but usually these things happen in the morning so not sure if it's been postponed. Must be soon though. The new cast starts rehearsals on Monday.

I really liked this. I went in with no prior knowledge and was totally gripped by Samuel Barnett’s and Declan Bennett’s performances. Definitely recommended in my opinion.

I saw this when I was in New York in January and adored it. It's charming and beautiful and just warmed my heart.

Does anyone know the date for this year's event? I think I read somewhere that details were to be announced at West End Eurovision on sunday just gone.
Thanks 28th October, 7pm and 9:30pm. :-)

He really should be he has had enough practice and none of us could see him going the same track for a 4th year. They better not be stunt casting this. With that rumour floating around about the Marius. 100% no stunt cast Valjean. Proper musical theatre performer who hasn't done the role before. Will hopefully be announced very soon.

I don't know if Adam is staying but he is definitely not the new lead Valjean.

That Goat is a game changer, NGL. I'm also now wondering how ethical it is to leave my Mum in a hotel room the night we arrive so I can finally see Sleep No More...(like I'll leave her food and drink and air con, I'm not a monster...) Totally ethical and reasonable. ;-) Just one bit of advise: If you have only seen The Drowned Man be prepared for a different beast in terms of the audience. I could fill the whole Bad Audience Behaviour thread with Sleep No More experiences if I wanted to. It’s something you definitely need to just be zen about or it will affect your enjoyment of the performance.

6 weeks might be to compensate for the late start to make it up to a 6 nonth contract. But damn I had him pegged as a stayer. I do hope Killian stays though. Not my fave Valjean but of the three princples I have seen he is. Killan is leaving.

Cast announcement should be towards the end of the month. At least that’s what they told my friend who is in the new cast. :-)

Here in Germany I do love an early midweek show. I’m at Tarzan tonight. The 6:30pm start means I’m done by 9:30pm which is great since I have to work early tomorrow. In London or on Broadway I prefer a 7:30pm/8pm start but I’m on holidays there so no work the next day to factor in.
Although on Broadway I mostly watch Sleep no more which on Fridays means a 7pm and an 11pm show (Saturdays 5pm and 9pm).

...am I alone in not wanting it to be different? Chicago has an iconic look and feel to it, that I think needs to stay. But hey I'm also not likely to go to the revival so I probably shouldn't get a vote. Agreed. For me the look is a big part of what makes Chicago... well, Chicago.

I saw In Celebration twice because he was in it. And he wasn’t bad (not amazing either) - but Paul Hilton was the real star in that production. Such sublime acting.
Still, I do love myself some Orlando so if it fits in with a trip to London this Summer I’ll probably give it a go.

Each time I've seen this I've thought that Dean Chisnall would make an excellent Charlie. He's rather older than any Charlies so far. I don't see it. David is 32 or 33 I think and Killian 33. Dean isn’t that much older (35) but I don’t see him as Charlie either. It definitely won’t happen this year anyway.

It says “German language production” so I’m expecting something along the lines of We will rock you: German dialogues, some songs in English, some (probably badly) translated songs in German.
This is just my guess though.
