She won't. At least that's what I was told today. Maybe they haven't announced it yet because they are still negotiating with whoever is taking over full time.

Well, she hasn't officially left the cast. She was supposed to stay until mid April and has been off injured since mid January.

I was there this afternoon too. I enjoyed it because of some brilliant performances the stand outs for me being Stephane Anelli and Simon Lipkin. Dean Jon Wilson does a good job too. Nice surprise to see David Birrell in the cast too. The show itself is a bit pointless. Some nice songs but the story just seemed very random.

Just heard that Jade is not coming back. Don't know if Jocasta is being promoted or if they are getting someone new for the role though.

From what I was told after the show Matt Henry's voice just went. He struggled a bit during the last song of act one. Probably a cold or something similar.

I saw this on Thursday (matinee). Had a ticket for the upper circle which was closed so I ended up with a great mid stalls row H seat. Really enjoyed it. It was a lot funnier than I thought it would be and engaging from start to finish. The acting is impressive. Really glad I decided to go. It's a shame it doesn't seem to be selling that well.

Saw Paul Ayres as Charlie tonight and thought he was brilliant. I wasn't that impressed by Killian when I saw the show in November. Definitely prefer Paul in the role and will try and go again when he's on. Callum Francis took over from Matt Henry after the first act so basically we got two Lolas for the price of one. I'd seen Matt before so it was great to watch half a show with Callum who was wonderful (I do hope Matt feels better soon though!). And just how beautiful is Callum's Lola? As a woman I have to say: I'm jealous. ;-)

I saw Madalena Alberto and Paul Basleigh both on as Luisa and Zorro back in 2009. I didn't know what I was missing, since I saw the show on a whim -- but when I got the cast recording, I realized I wasn't missing much! Whilst I agree Matt Rawle doesn't sound great on the cast recording (I find his voice very "marmite" in general) I have to say I much prefered him to Paul in the show. He had an incredible stage presence and I couldn't take my eyes off him. Never saw Madalena as Luisa so can't compare but Emma Williams was wonderful in my opinion. :-) Ben Wheeler as Tommy in Jersey Boys is another one of my favourite understudies. Jon Boydon is good in the role (and a stronger singer without a doubt) but Ben brings so many little nuances to the character. And even though he has been in the show since it opened in the West End I've never seen him just go through the motion.

I watched this years ago when a friend was in the cast. I don't think I will ever fully forgive him for those two hours of my life I will never get back. And the audience was the worst I've ever seen in a theatre: People chatting all the way through, lots of people leaving the auditorium mid show to go the toilet or the bar, singing along, whole groups of women jumping up trying (and failing) to do the Thriller dance.
Even if someone offered me a freebie I wouldn't sit through this show again.

What was the running time? Watching the matinee on Saturday and trying to figure out what time it will most likely be finished.

Donna Steele in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Miles better than Amanda Holden.
Dean Chisnall in Love Never Dies. While Joseph Milson wasn't a bad Raoul I found Dean's portrayal to be more varied (and no offence to Joseph but on the singing front Dean was so much better).

Assuming Sheridan does transfer I guess over a 6 month run with 8 shows a week it is inevitable she will be forced to miss the odd show through illness etc. Is it normal for lead roles to do a 6 month run with no planned holiday during it? Imelda didn't have any planned holidays during Gypsy. I don't think it happens often but it's not unheard of either.

That made me chuckle. Seb would be flattered to hear he's being called a cute chorus "boy" at his age. ;-) Well the "cute" part hasn't changed, and he must have made an impact considering I saw him in Joseph 24 years ago :-) Agreed. He's a handsome guy. Really talented too. He's doing Travels with my aunt in Chichester starting in April (just in case you fancy looking at him again). :-)

I have theatrical memorabilia, some of it quite large, but I agree that the memories are more important than the things. That said, Steffi has reminded me that I do have a bag of smaller mementoes from The Drowned Man and Sleep No More, I would probably grab that bag before any larger or more expensive items. I'm currently wondering what people would think if my place was on fire and they saw me running out the door carrying a collection of bloody masks, rings, paper ships, notes with random scribbles on them, tiny head shots and so on. :-)

I'd be tempted to grab all my Drowned Man and Sleep no more items but couldn't pick just one.
So if I was forced to chose just one thing I'd probably go for something completely different and take the poster from the German production of Saturday Night Fever signed by everyone in the cast. That show started my theatre addiction and the poster reminds me of some of the best times I have spent in a theatre.

I've never seen it, but I seem to remember a colleague saying they took their mum to see Jersey Boys and they were a bit shocked by the language used...? (Just in case that might offend any parents/grandparents.) I'd second Matilda but discounts/cheap seats are hard to come by. The Woman in Black, maybe? The language is strong, true. My mum didn't have a problem with it but if someone is easily offended by swearing on stage then yes, that's a point to consider.

I remember watching it at the Imax. It was stunning on the big screen but some of the performances were and are just not that good (to say it nicely). And I am a Hugh Jackman fan but Bring him home just isn't a highlight in his singing career.

My first thought was Jersey Boys if they like the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It's a jukebox musical but it's well done and has an interesting story (at least that's what I think). I took my mum to see it a few years ago and she loved it and really enjoyed hearing the songs she remembered from her youth. :-)

I thought about this but I don't really have a moment in a musical that will always make me cry. I don't cry often while seeing a show at the theatre (funny enough I burst into tears easily when watching movies or my favourite tv shows). But if I end up tearing up it's always a combination of scene and performer and often my personal mood. I cried every time I watched the final scenes in Les Mis when Ramin Karimloo was on as Jean Valjean but never when anyone else was playing the part. I'm not saying the other performers were less good but only Ramin managed to move me to tears with his portrayal. Same with Sierra Boggess singing "Love never dies". "Blackout" in In the Heights sometimes makes me tear up because I find the whole scene and song extremely powerful. I often cried during "Lothlorien" in Lord of the Rings for the same reason. The only show I basically sobbed my way through every single time was Love Story.
There's one thing that almost guarantees I will flood the theatre though and that is performers crying on stage. And I don't mean crying because it's part of their portrayal but crying because it is an emotional performance for them - usually last performances. For example, I remember watching Stephen Ashfield's last performance in Jersey Boys years ago and he just burst into tears towards the end of act one. It wasn't even a particularly emotional moment but just watching him tipped me over the edge.

She's back tonight according to her latest tweets. Offering to buy people tickets (in once case even train tickets from Leeds!) for the Savoy run is a lovely gesture but she definitely shouldn't have to offer anything. No offence to those who accept her offer but personally I just couldn't knowing what she is going through.

She said she was hoping to be back soon but that was more than a month ago. I have no idea how long a broken nose needs to heal enough for her to be able to perform. Oh no. How did she break it? I was at the show when it happened. She accidentally got hit in the face by one of the dancers during Blackout (act one finale). She carried on until the interval, Jocasta Almgill took over as Vanessa for act two.

I saw this tonight. I really enjoyed it. So much energy. Will definitely try and see it again. Anyone know how it works with The Railway Children. We asked one of the staff and what she said wasn't very clear. How often do they have to take the In The Heights set down? Or does it slide off somewhere? The In the Heights set can stay put from Sunday eve to Tuesday eve. On Wednesday they have to get the Railway Children set back in and Thursday to Sunday they have a Railway Children matinee and In the Heights evening performance. That's the regular schedule. Railway Children is doing extra performances around Easter so that will mean even more set changes. When In the Heights first started at the theatre there used to be delays to the start time regularly on days with a Railway Children matinee because it took them longer than expected to change the set. They redecorate the foyer for In the Heights too. It's not a huge set but the backstage crew sure does a great job switching between shows that quickly. :-)

Shows this is clearly not my kind of musical. ;-) I've never seen a Bollywood film and have no knowledge about the genre. So for me the obvious lip-syncing just looked awful. It's not what made me not love Bombay Dreams though. I simply couldn't connnect to anything in this show. The only bit I enjoyed was Journey Home. But this place would be boring if we all loved the same things. :-)
