I saw this last night.
I really like the show anyway so I know I was going to enjoy it.
I’m not sure it benefitted from being in such a small space, but the actors made it work.
Having Lex be a woman worked really well I thought.
Everyone played their parts really well, especially Janie and Feris. However, I did feel that the actor playing Feris was playing to the wings sometimes and also trying to make the rest of the cast laugh which was distracting.

Wow. The Turbine Theatre is a toilet disaster area. 4/6 able bodied toilets out of order and one of the two that were working that I used was filthy with a broken seat.

Well that was a good couple of hours of entertainment (beats Ant and Dec anyday). It had its faults, namely the camera angles, but a great advert for musical theatre in the UK and, I am sure, it will create sales around the country especially for regional theatre. What more could you want on a Saturday night than a bit of Mr Balls and Maz Murray. What is a Ballobe? ;-)

I think my first three musicals were Starlight, Cats and Joseph. I’m not sure I which order.

This tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber is particular hard to watch right now. Deserved, though. Yes it made me surprisingly emotional, his shows are such a big reason why I got into theatre I think he is the reason for me too.

Hamilton "first time on UK TV?" Surely not. Didn't they perform at the Oliviers? Maybe it’s this specific song - no idea.

I’ve not seen the show, but I thought the one being so harsh about the lead actress was too much.

Oh right. They changed her song previously. As long as they haven’t changed Hollywood, I’ll be OK. Is there any of the dreaded audience participation? Hollywood is the same, although the staging is dire. Someone literally just holding out a tiny stuffed Ewok toy from the wings for 'there goes an Ewok' and then sticking out one hand in a Freddy Krueger glove for 'talking to Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street'. I don't remember it being that noncommittal before... If you're front row or central aisle a couple of characters might address a couple of comments to you, but they don't expect you to say anything back. Janey and Feris also hand out superhero masks at one point and you're supposed to put them on and then a view of the audience is projected onto the back of the stage. But nothing beyond that. I see there’s a central aisle, but is there an aisle on the ‘outer edges?’

Are all the songs the same? Yes for the most part, although I'm not totally sure that the act 2 opening number wasn't new? It wasn't the best sound quality so it may just have felt new because it sounded different, but I don't remember SHL getting that much to do before. Oh right. They changed her song previously. As long as they haven’t changed Hollywood, I’ll be OK. Is there any of the dreaded audience participation?

Is the Australian one set in the same Scottish castle? Tip: do not search Traitors Australia on YouTube unless you want massive spoilers. It’s set in Australia which means the tasks are all different (although some are mighty similar). It’s set in a hotel which is a bit creepy but not as special as the Castle. That was the only thing that wasn’t as good. Claudia and the Australian presenter were equally good I though.

Have to say that I really enjoyed it. Some genuinely funny moments that made me laugh out loud. I actually thought it was a much funnier film than the first though the first is still the better movie. The Sanderson sisters were great and it had felt like nothing had changed in the 30 years since they last played those roles. And I thought the rest of the supporting cast did a solid job. Unfortunately I completely disagree about the comedy. It was so cringeworthy. The kind of cheap self-aware comedy that is commonplace nowadays (especially from the sidekick). It’s why this one won’t become a classic. Also the one they were trying to kill was so annoying I was kind of on their side. Haha.

My thoughts from four weeks ago:
Of course, I’m biased to this musical.
I don’t agree that Beverley sings it better. Cynthia is the best singer this show will probably ever have.
Some fun changes, like with Eddie’s number.
No one will ever convince me ‘It’s Good To Be A Nun’ is the better song.
There were some unspoken moments that got cut, sadly.
I have never understood about acoustics until I saw this show. It felt very quiet.
This is the show that I have seen most, ever in my life. I know I sound down. I will love it forever, but it wasn’t the best version of it.
7/10

Sorry if this has already been answered but does anyone know who was playing Sister Mary Patrick in the final show on Sunday? The cast board said Keala Settle but she definitely wasn’t on! I believe it was Caroline Bateson. I don’t know why Keala wasn’t on for the evening as she definitely did the matinee Remember, the evening date wasn’t originally on the schedule.
