The dynamic pricing for this is really infuriating!! I have tickets for this for an evening show and wanted to change them to the matinee on the same day, and a seat that isnt in as good a location as the one I had (which is centre stalls) is £19 more!! Fuming

How do they stage the title song then? I'm intrigued

I'd love to see May Tether (U/S Veronica in Heathers) as Janis

I'm surprised there's no feedback on this as yet. I am seeing it next Saturday evening. I have heard from a friend though that the story is paper thin, but the show is enjoyable and the cast and their singing are fantastic.

I'm already not a fan of the female engineer idea, and the first impression of a silver set with a staircase to nowhere and a tiny TV are not boding well. I've come with a group of friends who've all seen every production in this country, so we hope for the best but do have strong feelings for this show. For what it's worth I liked the LNOTW video although I wish her voice was prettier. Hope to be reporting back that I am pleasantly surprised! Oh dear, I'm worried now!! Did you take a photo of the set when you went in? I've been searching all over to see if anyone has posted an image Fingers crossed you are only seeing part of the set and it opens up when the show begins. Sheffield Crucible usually create some great sets for their shows.

Is Kyle definitely not staying for the full run? That’s surprising I believe he's been cast in something in America that starts before the end of this Strange Loop run so he can't stay the full run. Do you know when he's due to leave? I don't go until last week in August?

I'm in London at the end of August and I've left one day show free especially for this, but like others have said, it will all depend on casting for me. It wouldn't surprise me if they go for a Drag Race alum.

I wonder when the cast will be announced for this. I'd imagine rehearsals will begin in a couple of weeks.

Ooh that's a hard one, as she needs to be a triple threat. Someone like Carly Mercedes Dyer or Ariana DeBose. To be honest I could name loads that would be great, it all depends on the production and the budget. they both sound too young to me. I guess because I saw it played by an established star approaching her 60s, I see the role as needing that experience and presence. It is tricky to identify someone who matches that. Bebe Neuwirth might work. I think Aurora/Spiderwoman is ageless though as she exists as the movie star in Molina's mind, and Vanessa Williams was only in here early 30's when she played it. Also, didn't Neuworth take over from Chita in London back in the 90's?

Top of my list is always Kiss of the Spiderwoman. I want a lavish large scale production. I'd quite like to see Parade appear again too. Who would be your dream casting for Aurora? Having seen Chita, it is hard to imagine anyone else having that same allure and danger Ooh that's a hard one, as she needs to be a triple threat. Someone like Carly Mercedes Dyer or Ariana DeBose. To be honest I could name loads that would be great, it all depends on the production and the budget.

Can anyone who has access to the tickets give me a heads up as to what the pricing is like for this? Is it crazy expensive for a central seat like My Neighbour Totorro?

For those already giving it Oliviers, I think it will have a hard time beating THE BAND’S VISIT and TAMMY FAYE has its share of fans as well. I agree, I adored both of those too. Best musical is a tough category this year. Great performances worthy of awards in all three shows too.

I see the songs in this as more of a sound track, which I can see why they say it makes it a play with songs. The songs often heighten a moment for the characters as opposed to moving the story on. I still reckon it will get Olivier nods for best musical though, and in my opinion it should win. Ive seen it twice and been thoroughly moved by it both times.
Question for anyone that remembers it when it originally ran in Sheffield a few years ago, did they change Poppy's first solo this time around? I recall the last version of her song being calmer and more reflective, and not laying her hurt out there as much as this one does.

Seats released across all of the run. Just grabbed a pair for a November matinee WHOOP! Ooh, thank you for posting. Just managed to get a single stalls seat for a matinee!! I was gutted when I thought it had sold out.

I much prefer the stalls. The circle is very far forward and you are looking sharply down on the actors Also depending how tall you are the safety bar can block your view meaning you have to lean forward which is not fun for the people sitting in the row behind Thanks, Ill give it a miss then. I just wanted to change my tickets (which are 3rd row centre stalls) for another day, but the best they had was upstairs..

This popped up on my browser again today and I'm curious about it! dazzerlump did you ever get a response to your question? Well in the end I had to do a chargeback. I contacted Punchdrunk and they said it should have been on the booking terms as you have to wear the mask, so I sent them exactly what you see at the booking stage, and there's no mention of the mask. They said they couldn't refund and I would have to go to see tickets for it. See tickets don't respond to anything, I sent two complaints and then a further two emails until it got close to the point that if I didn't do a chargeback then it would be too late.

I'd love a full revived production of the west end version. Would be great at somewhere like the Menier or Southwark playhouse

The Chandelier was {Spoiler - click to view} Heather Small Thank you! I couldn’t see this earlier in the thread but didn’t like to say 🥺. Fancy her getting voted off so early! 😲 She tried to mask her distinctive voice, and it didn't come off sounding great. It worked though, no one guessed it was her!

That’s really helpful, thank you so much for your responses. I think I’ll take your advice and get there just before curtain up. Thanks everyone 😊 We were in Row E of the Stalls and no-one could get near us! Im in row E of the stalls when I go (20,21 I think?), how did you find it? The reviews Ive seen on seat plan are not glowing because there's little to no rake from the row in front.

I really struggle with the casting decisions for Hedwig as a role. As much as Hedwig is a trans role, their transition is not a trans journey as such, but more on of necessity to leave east Berlin and move to the USA. I think John Cameron Mitchell refers to Hedwig as a genderqueer character and not trans.
I have trans friends who I have discussed this with who have no issue with any gender playing Hedwig, as their story in the play isn't representational of the trans community.
Personally I'd be happy for anyone to play the role as long as they do justice to the character and the piece.

Been wanting to see this for years, but for me I think the casting has put me off it. Loved Divina on drag race but bot sure about in Hedwig. I wasn't personally that impressed on the "skit" she did with the 9 to 5 Cast on this years Children in Need (Can be found on YT) Yeah, she was extremely pitchy on CIN. Although im hoping with a longer rehearsal period that Hedwig will be better. Either way, I'm just glad there will be a production, although I always hoped the Menier would put this on at some point.

Reported by The Stage that masks will be mandatory for audience members. Yep, just had my ticket through and the email clearly states that face coverings are mandatory for everyone over 11. Proof of vaccination/immunity also required. Does it state that there are still exemptions to wearing a mask? Ive got tickets and I cant wear one!
