Tonight its the charity Sunday For Sammy at the Newcastle Arena. Last time we had Tim Healy, Denise Welch, Joe McElderry, Brenda Blethyn, Kevin Whatley. Wonder who is on this year. Its a cracking charity that gives a financial hand to promising singers etc.

The original Bill Kenwright touring version of Joseph. Yes it was tacky and cheap but it had something about it the new revamped version can never have. Many happy days spent travelling all over the country to see it. Happy days.

I’ve seen it twice.
The first time had Davy Jones from the Monkees and I remember him not signing autographs at the stage door and just walking off.
The second time initially had some Australian soap actor as Jesus but he’d left and his understudy George Alex Livings took over and he was excellent.

I wish I’d saved it to my Sky box. I loved it. However for me, the perfect Romeo and Juliet was by NBT with William Walker and Jane Regan dancing the leads. I had it on VHS ( yes I’m that old), leant it to a friend who deliberately destroyed it after a fall out. You can’t get it on DVD.

Love their work. Its where my brother started his career. Saw all of their early stuff. Their Romeo and Juliet cannot be beaten.

Horrendous.
Earlier this year I booked to see my favourite comedian the awesome Milton Jones at the City Hall in Newcastle. I did my usual of confirming everything countless times. Happy everything was correct I confirmed the booking
My ticket arrived - for S****horpe. Bloody S****horpe. Straight on the phone to Ticketmaster. Oh we’ll listen to your call and we’ll sort everything out for you don’t worry.
I got their reply. Sorry we can’t find the call so unfortunately we cant change your ticket. We can put in on the ticket exchange for you. Absolutely gutted. So because they conveniently cant find the call tough.
I can’t afford another ticket and all the best seats have gone. I’m putting a complaint in not that I think it will change anything.
So hacked off I opened a tin of my Christmas chocolates.
😥😥😥

I’ve got to confess I loved quite a lot of Which Witch - mostly EVERYTHING Viviene Parry did, as well as Maria Kesselman’s operatic vocals over the rock score (I never did see Benedicte Adrienne live). Camp yes, but never dull. Leonardo, on the other hand had me pondering the lighting rig for two thirds of the show. Possible the most arduous two (plus change) hours I EVER spent in a theatre. I’m also on board for the Robin Hood musical and Moby Dick at the Piccadilly. Singlehandedly tried to keep that theatre open in the early 2000s! Maria Kesselman was the first Christine I saw in Phantom and nobody has come close to her in that role.

IT'S BACK! Tonight at 7PM on W. Last ever series for the 3 judges amid some kafoofle that I'm not googling for obvious reasons. I'll miss them, but maybe it's time....especially if they give the gig to Shannon or Curtis (or both?☺️) Was anyone watching the Masterchef USA Junior that has just finished on W? Those tiny kids are truly something else. Wouldn’t say no to Shannon taking over. I dont think it will be the same without Matt, Gary and George.

I went on the tour when I was in Manchester to watch Kiss Me Kate (James Smillie/Kate O’Mara version) and loved it. It was December and in true Manchester fashion it poured down. I remember going around a corner to see a guy dressed as the Grim Reaper having a smoke,

Ever have those moments where you go "god, just look at Rachel Tucker"?? 😍😍 I know I’m in the minority but I could never warm to Rachel as Elphaba ... and I saw her 4 times so gave it a fair chance! Me either.
