Wow that was pure master class in taking a classic musical & making it feel new.
For me that felt vibrant, fresh & relevant - the direction & craft on display is something special!
The effects are fantastic & the dark simple stage is genius for this, the choreography is something I never thought I would see in this musical and yes our ‘Evita’ is a bitch throughout and I loved the performance along with ‘Che’.
Very lucky to have a lovely summers night, full house & was worth the wait since booking this one!!
Loved the symbolism of the balloons too!

Wow some really negative reactions on here, saw this last night and found it to be a vital LGBTQI+ musical with a powerful story and message, good pop score, great set and great ensemble cast...for me of the best shows of this summer, planning to return!

‘Dawson’s Creek’ got a great ending, it was very sad for ‘Jen’to pass away but it was full circle as it was her arrival to the creek that changed things up for the characters.
It just did some lovely things with its characters and was an effecting emotional but funny send off to a great teen drama.

Well this was is the only show I’m seeing on my New York trip, I was the matinee yesterday & absolutely loved it!
I have fallen in love with the cast album beforehand so admittedly I didn’t go in cold for this!
We had all the original cast on, Andy is excellent but I thought that Samantha really smashes this out the park & was so wonderful to see her in a lead role on Broadway. Also the vocals on Orfeh is insane (also nice that give ‘Kit’ a small character arc).
The one thing I wasn’t prepared for was how emotional act 2 was, my friend & I shed many tears.
I love it & fingers crossed it makes its way to London!!

What a 1st night preview, was so wonderful to be there for this.
I have big love for Cornwall & was swept away there tonight (clever small set & stunning lighting design) to well crafted folk musical.
This is an actors musician piece & blends well (I can’t imagine it not being and a band) as being a folk tale it’s cast of five narrate & take in characters throughout.
I don’t want to spoil too much in how they tell it (I wasn’t a fan of the film but this excelled & give it meaning for me) as it was so beautifully crafted & effecting. Yes, for me this produced many tears (I certainly wasn’t alone).
One of those I can see having more life, a cast album hopefully....it’s all just a matter of time!!
Oh and yes big deserving standing ovation, in fact they all looked shocked that the clapping didn’t stop & came back! It’s a great experience in a small space.
Loved it & plan to try get to this again but predict some good reviews at the weekend (press night is Friday!).

I loved this last night!
Confession never seen this, read it or knew the story (just about the American dream not being everything it promises to be) so I went to this Arthur Miller cold!
Amazing PWC £10 seat, 2nd row stalls so I was up close & personal.
I loved the set, amazing to think how each production at OV uses its huge stage differently.
I loved Sally Field in this, I most admit having high expectations but I wasn’t disappointed- she is supported by an excellent cast but her character feels so pivotal along with her son that a lot rests on their shoulders! Bill was also great & was a committed performance.
The writing (a classic) is rich but I can’t compare to how it’s been interpreted before but I loved how light and dark the play is.
It zipped along (1st Act is 1 hour) & Act 2 (1 hr 15 mins) but the blackout towards the end is confusing it seems, I did not think it was the end but so many people clapped!!
Stalls situation was fine but I must point out so many people entered on the wrong side & were having to use the front row to get across! Temp toliets are well kept, used before the show & didn’t dare drink a drop as imagined could have got busy in the interval!
Glad I saw this one!
Look forward to more opinions on this play.

Saw this last night, it was cute & well crafted but not that memorable!!
The simple set design works well in the space & their camper van works (there is a resolve!!).
It’s only 2 hours including interval which I think why it lacks something, whilst the actors are good I never got fully invested in the characters & they felt at arms length - some development in the book needed. There is a moment for the gay uncle with other characters that came from nowhere and whilst there is a farce moment that could be cringe (that worked well & laughter ensued).
Whilst I enjoyed it enough for an evening seeing new emerging work, the score is one note (most songs sound the same) although I did like the reprise of the sunshine song st the end & all the pageant stuff was great fun (the highlight of the show).
It’s pleasant & not too expensive to see however despite some of my points.

I’ll be very sad to see this one go if it dies in the summer, went last night for 2nd time & absolutely love it!! Well if it does have to end sooner then I plan to go to the closing show, such a wonderful show!

Aww thank you, I was enthralled throughout and had a few silent tears over the course of Act 2.
That’s sweet of you to say, the only moment I missed a beat from sideline was ‘Becky’ & ‘Karl’ moment at the start of Act 2, I couldn’t see them as they were total stage right but was all good apart from that.
So I had friends in Dress Circle (Trekkie Monster) so I went up to their bar in the internal & they told me they had some bad behaviour people in their section (I can report the offenders were far better in Act 2) they had a sweet rustler and a couple in front that talked to each other although Act 2 they were quiet and had a cry so they must have got enthralled too!! Oh I course reported to them of the perfect behaviour down in the stalls with my surroundings patrons but o did notice the woman bring M&Ms when they returned at the very last minute of the interval & I thought ‘oh no’ sorry if effected you but I couldn’t hear any rustling at all & had a perfect Act 2!

Wow that was incredible, my heart feels full!!
I sat B31 in stalls, you only miss one or two moments stage right but it’s a great seat (although i’ll Try B30 next time) as you have no one in front of you, leg room & you are so close but away from the high stage for this in AA!!
I am a big fan of the cast recording so I went in knowing the songs but not the narrative (well of course knowing songs gives you a steer, a soft place to land) and this is a great story that is relatable, simple and empowering!!
I thought Katherine was brilliant & so glad she has opened as ‘Jenna’ her ‘She Used to Be Mine’ you could have heard a pin drop, goosebumps!!
The cast are strong, great set with smooth transitions and I loved the choreography with baking!!
I welled up & tears!
I’m gutted they had sold out of lapel pins, oh well will have to return!!
A new favourite for me!!

I was really lucky, Email came at 12pm - clicked on link and waited 5 mins!!
I’ve booked Row B centre Grand Circle for Sat matinee!!
I liked Row A The other week for ‘All About Eve’ But of course I did have safety rail slightly in eyeliner so opted for B - my price point was £50

‘Killer Queen’ has lots of potential- they said it’s the least developed of all the musicals & they have a good story outline already & some cracking rap, rhymes & stagey tunes already - it’s the one I hope they work on & develop further!
I think ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ is a shoe in!!
‘The Protagonists’ was great fun, it’s a developed &?ready to go superhero musical - it was a shame to not see the whole thing!
There’s a beautiful father & daughter number that brought a tear to the eye & wow Rob Fowler is so beautiful!!

Oh yes I loved the tops off moment for the two male leads!!
Yes agreed it was a fun little meta musical with some great comedy performances, although this show would never actually make it into a Broadway stage (but that’s the point!).
Yes if you want to see Jordan Fox then this is a perfect setting as it’s the gallery space (only thing at times could hear the other show!!)

Well that was an hoot tonight I thought!!
I was a little worried when I had to queue outside for ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ that it was going to be a bad scam downstairs but it was grand (I opted for the bar stalls - will try for them on Thursday!).
There’s loads of potential with BIAC, it had a good cast & was enjoyable!!
‘Bloody, Bloody Jessica Fletcher’ is a fun spoof show, it wouldn’t work as standalone but would work an comedy double bill & yes it’s one us gays would lap up!! I laughed a lot!
It was nice to see some cast stay & watch the 2nd show, saw some familiar faces in the audience too!!
Looking forward to returning on Thursday!!
